14th May 2018 at 3:57 pm #21691But since Spurs get a new and bigger ground, they’ll also in the long run have a bigger income. How that affects their spending this summer is perhaps beyond any of us to say? I’d say it is.

14th May 2018 at 4:00 pm #21693Apologies I did it on the move on my smart phone.
Just keeping to the facts SRD.
I’m sure Poch will be given money to spend probably circa £50m plus and whatever he makes on sales.
I guess it will all depend on how he sees it thereafter and what offers he has and from who I don’t think whoever manages Chelsea next season will get much more than that. But we’ll all know soon enough.

14th May 2018 at 4:01 pm #21694Yes the ground will add revenue but it still has to be paid for.

14th May 2018 at 4:22 pm #21696Does that mean that your real name is just nine? 🙂
I know it’s the facts. But United and The Oil Firm, especially the baby blues (that’s City), will spend big this summer. Arsenal will probably back their new big cheese financially. Liverpool will strengthen. So Spurs will need to spend as well. If they have a bigger ground, they might be able to spend bigger this summer because of future higher income.
But we’ll see.

14th May 2018 at 5:20 pm #21698Kylie-Jokes aside mate, where do think Spurs need improving? If you have only £50m to spend,if Spurs have generated close to £50m from the CL run,if they make £50m from sales like disco Sisssikko,Aurier,Llorente,Lamela, and a couple more, then Poch will have enough £££ to strengthen his squad where he wants to.

14th May 2018 at 6:13 pm #21699Well, Goose, to be honest, that really is a tough one. Siad the same thing last summer, our 1st 11 is pretty strong and do we have the budget to buy someone who would improve that? (Obviously not, according to Goldie! 🙂 ). Off course, hopefully, top dollar for anybody in the 1st 11 who does leave, and then get in a like for like replacement (position wise at any rate!). All of our fall-backs had pretty ropey ends to the season. Our midfielders were dropping like flies, and our attack did go a bit limp too… reckon they all just need a holiday… oh look, World Cup…..

14th May 2018 at 6:58 pm #21701Chucky, it’s not according to me mate it’s according to the profit Spurs are making the cost of funding the new ground and Levy’s reputation.
I’m sure Spurs will be active in the market and spend some big money they spent in excess of £100m last Summer but the net spend ended up at £35m. Chelsea spent £75m net so not that much more. Neither of us can compete with the Manchester clubs.

14th May 2018 at 8:10 pm #21706As a matter of interest, what is the capacity of the new ground? What was the “old ground”

14th May 2018 at 9:03 pm #21709AnonymousChucky and Brian Blue , 62,062 to be exact.DL has already said the ground finance is in place and will not impact upon transfers !!!!!!!! yeah right.
Spurs have broken even on transfers give or take a couple of million for the last five years. On top of that there is the TV money, prize money & sponsorships etc there is a shedload in the coffers, but will Baldy spend it ? If not a brand new ground but shit team with lots of space for some extra hot dogs._____________________________

15th May 2018 at 7:38 am #21711Acvording to today’s press Poch allegedly wants a big salary increase plus a £100m transfer budget and all the money from sales. Not impossible that Spurs would go with that and at least get close to the £100m transfer budget but Levy is notoriously tight.

On a better note (for me anyway) I discovered the other week a brother of a colleague of mine has bought a box there (80k apparently… but I haven’t seen the receipt!) and told me to let him know whenever I’m in town… 🙂
Looking forward to the fixture lists coming out!
