Starting to get a little bit concerned about the lack of movement at the new House of Pain, not so bothered about the outgoings as I would love both the Moose and Toby to stay, but the lack of incomings…

11th July 2018 at 11:08 am #23873Anonymousfrom a purely footballing perspective, toby is far superior to harry maguire, in every department. maguire is having a good tournament but he didnt pull up trees in the league last season. whereas toby has proven himself to be a world class centre half and is the best defender in the league.

11th July 2018 at 11:14 am #23874Yeah, not wrong, but looks like Toby ain’t staying!
Perhaps I should have rephrased it, who could we get to replace Toby, be it first 11 or squad!

15th August 2018 at 1:42 pm #25286So what happens if Spurs can’t find an alternative venue for their match against City on Oct 28th. Wembley and Twickenham are not options?

15th August 2018 at 2:04 pm #25287Hackney Marshes? 🙂
Obvious solution would to simply swap the two fixtures around so we play up Norff and then down Saff next year… but that would be too logical I reckon!

15th August 2018 at 2:07 pm #25288Anonymousthe whole thing is a fucking farce. really shouldnt come as a surprise but just because we have improved on the pitch doesnt mean we are any better off of it.
apparently twickenahm is potentially an option but it really should never have come to this.

15th August 2018 at 2:33 pm #25290Swap is not an option as i understand City do not want to have to play three away fixtures on the bounce at the end of the season, why should they? and similarly the PL do not want Spurs playing three home games in a row at the end of the season.

15th August 2018 at 2:41 pm #25291I come from Twickenham and I don’t think it is a viable option they don’t want football in Twickenham from the MP, to the RFU, to the Residents.
Be surprised if any Spurs games end up there. Surely the London Stadium is a more viable option or the game just gets postponed like it would be for bad weather and rescheduled.
I don’t think the PL will agree to a games swap either as it gives Man City 3 away games on the trot which might work against them.

15th August 2018 at 3:00 pm #25293What I fail to understand is that they have been planning this move a long time. I am sure with many many meetings, who is falling behind schedule and why. They say it is a safety issue, this should have been resolved in the planning stage noy at the last minute or is somebody trying to dodge an issue thinking it will all be glossed over. The Spurs fans need some kind of explanation, after all, they will be paying for extra travel and higher seat prices

15th August 2018 at 3:32 pm #252953 away games at the end of the season? They’ll have won it long before then!! Anyway, gives them a nice run of three home games to build up that lead… everybody has to play everybody home and away at the end of the day… I think that is a feeblest of excuses, to be honest, sure Pool had something similar not that long ago when their stand wasn’t finished a year or two back. Didn’t they play their first 5 away or something?

15th August 2018 at 4:02 pm #25297Chucky it’s not an excuse. City don’t have to do something that is even slightly detrimental to them if they think so. Lets get something straight, Levy and the Spurs board are at fault if anyone is, for their lack of contingency planning, not City. Perhaps you could just forfeit the game and hand us the3pts.?

15th August 2018 at 4:19 pm #25298Anonymouswhat i dont get is that spurs made this payment to the FA / wembley last year to play the entire season at wembley in case of issues with the new stadium. as expected there are issues and now they are saying we cant use it because they have made alternative arrangements. spurs had a contingency plan in place (one that cost us so much we couldnt make any transfers) yet its seems to have back fired.
