we did drop a lot of points against those teams which is why i think someone creative who plays a bit deeper would be useful. someone that can play a ball over the top or split a defence open. dembele is a joy to watch when he weaves in and out and turns players with ease, but he doesnt create anything. he got more yellow cards last season than shots on target, through balls and crosses combined. and again dier and wanyama are decent at winning the ball but they are both poor on the ball. last season was good, but we went backwards. won less games, lost more, scored less goals, conceded more. liverpool, chelsea and arsenal will all improve and we cant afford to go backwards again.

Powerful player. I’d take him all day long at Liverpool

12th June 2018 at 2:48 pm #22749Anonymousmav – why do you care how much he costs? he will make united so much better and still has a good few years in him at the top level.
sean – he gets rotated to an extent but winks wasnt fit all season so dembele ended up playing most the games when fit. the problem is he is a guaranteed substitution as he cant play 90 minutes. he is a fantastic player but for me he doesnt do enough going forward and we end up with two midfielders who do nothing for us offensively. in tight situations in the middle of the pitch i dont think you’ll find a better player, but the ball rarely goes forward from him.

12th June 2018 at 4:03 pm #22752Paxo-2 reasons m8:
1]-Would much rather we go for someone younger.i.e.Koulibaly,Manolas,who have more than a year or 2 b4 they need replacing too, and…
2]-Hate buying from fellow title-chasing teams.

13th June 2018 at 9:22 am #22759Pretty accurate assessment… have to agree!
As for not doing much going forward, I thought that’s why we have the fearsome foursome up top. Quite happy for the Moose to just keep ticking the ball over to be honest, and watching the opp’s just bounce of him trying to win it back! 🙂
Not so much last season, but the season before we had Vicky and the Moose stating most games and we were immense…
I guess age has got up with the Moose to a degree, and fully understand why he might want to go to a slower/softer League, but with would love to see one more season from him, even if he’s just saved for Europe and home games in the new spaceship etc…
Just love watching him play and going to be a lot sadder if he goes than I would be with Toby… he’s done just about as much as anybody else over the last 2/3 years to get the Spuds to where we’re at, fully deserves to have his name sung by the masses at the new stadium.

13th June 2018 at 10:12 am #22763Don’t worry my feathered friend, I was most certainly not agreeing with your whitterings about YooUtd playing their annual Championship Manager game and just buying whoever they fancy cause they can’t be Arsenaled to do anything else… 🙂

15th June 2018 at 7:38 am #22799AnonymousPaxton sad to say but you are right we never get in early with our transfers, we do need two new full backs as we have gone backwards in those positions and the MF needs a big overhaul.
What baffles me is that Mo has signed a new long term contract and I imagine he told Baldy who he wants to bring in, so why are we dicking around with £15m bids for Grealish who would sit on the bench.
It’s possible we may sell Moose, Rose and Toby that’s going to take a lot of replacing and I don;t think Levy will bring the quality in we need, I can see him now telling the media how much we have increased wages which has left us skint for new players,as well as the normal we tried to bring in X Y Z and Messi but couldn’t get the paperwork through in time.
I’ve got no expectations of Spurs next season will be lucky to get a place in the Thursday cup, we were a couple of players short again, to make a real challenge and now I can see 2/3 players moving on and the side will need rebuilding,a big shame we were very close._____________________________

16th June 2018 at 12:05 pm #22835Long-term contracts these days means absolutely nothing, well, one thing actually-namely that the selling club can demand much more ££££ for the player/s said!
ps:Kane the fattest/heaviest player @ the WC? What happened to Rooney I wonder?lol
