9, going back to one of your points,
“VAR for offsides is very accurate imo but goals have to be ruled out for feet being in an offside position and not a portion of the hand.”
That can’t be right, hands/arms including the keeper’s, are not to be used for judging offside as per the laws of the game.

22nd May 2021 at 10:15 am #179501Blaze, except for the wrestling in the box against Manchester United, and the Penalty we should have had against Leicester, etc. etc. etc. Then it’s been really accurate.
Let’s face it, the top two things fans want to see are:
ridiculous decisions like the “goal” Spurs scored against Manchester Utd, wrong people getting sent off, the hand of god goal etc being corrected, that is what VAR should be used for.
The other is stopping diving, which it’s done nothing about, it may have stopped the rewards from doing so (in some cases) but until diving is a red card offence it won’t stop the crime……Pagan

22nd May 2021 at 11:07 am #179503The problem is blaze they are not getting many decisions right even while reviewing var. it’s destroying the game as a spectacle. Take away celebrating a goal is a huge part of the game
Nine, the amount of decisions that have gone againest Liverpool this season has been incredible and I totally agree with pagan that the offsides are not 100 % accurate
Decisions given one week and not the next for the sabe foul etc
It’s brutal

22nd May 2021 at 11:36 am #179504Pagan, I’m not sure what part of Chilwell was offside other than his hand or his arm despite what the rules might say but it’s too painful to discuss and the main thrust of my point was to revert to only the feet being in an offside position when VAR is reviewed by IFAB this summer. But I’m not holding my breath!

22nd May 2021 at 11:38 am #179505Agree with that Pagan, the biggest issue with every fan I know is diving and VAR has done nothing about it, numerous penalties given this season because of the most minimal contact, not fouls, just contact. It’s now become a race to the ground for forwards running into the box.

22nd May 2021 at 11:39 am #179507100% with 999 there. As long as the feet are onside then the rest of it is anticipation. Anticipation should be rewarded not penalised. It is the feet that propel you forward, not the hand or any other part of the anatomy.

22nd May 2021 at 12:02 pm #179509I think that the VAR needs to have a realism brief, currently they seem to think that they need to justify their existence, and as such desperately try to find a counter to the on fields referee’s decision. The brief should be to protect the officials from howlers and support the marginal decisions by showing it’s near impossibility in getting them 100% right in real time. We’re never going to improve refereeing while we’re destroying their confidence by overruling decisions they make that you can’t get right beyond doubt in real time…..Pagan

22nd May 2021 at 12:06 pm #1795109, feet, head, knee, it’s all rubbish if you have to start drawing lines to prove either way to millimetres. Show the picture, if it’s not clear and obvious to the naked eye, either give the advantage to the attacker or go with the “soft signal” of the assistant ref……Pagan

22nd May 2021 at 12:22 pm #179511As soon as they start drawing lines, your heart just sinks. It’s the transformation of the game from a real world one to a theoretical one. Isn’t that the wrong way round?

22nd May 2021 at 5:14 pm #179516Mikus, you are right, the game is being taken away from us, so, off field control can be “influencer”. in modern parlance. Somebody would need to convince me our game has not been lost to what is happening on the pitch.
It will get worse because we have inept organisations who tinker with rules and administration just to line there pockets, or, more chiefs than Indians was an old saying_____________________________

23rd May 2021 at 1:13 pm #179550Comfortable goal difference for us.
We could even qualify if we lost providing Leicester lose too.
Chelsea need to win their game as they could drop out should both Leicester and Liverpool win.

23rd May 2021 at 3:14 pm #179554No Kante but the expected Chelsea team. 🤞🤞🤞
No start for Aguero but allegedly he’ll play the whole of the second half hope so he deserves that great day for the City fans the farewell to Aguero and the presentation of the 4th PL trophy in 4 years.
