Well done penalty takers. Disappointing game though. Can’t remember a decent Chelsea attack.
At least Liverpool attacked with some purpose._____________________________

15th May 2022 at 5:42 am #196096The Mail on Sunday focuses on the FA Cup Final, saying Liverpool fans sparked outrage for booing Prince William and the National Anthem. It says fans gesticulated and made obscene hand gestures while the “solemn” prince stood singing God Save the Queen. Their actions were condemned by Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle, says the paper.
Did anybody notice this, I didn’t. Or did the TV blot it out. Typical press to make this a front page headline. Why would a significant number boo the national anthem etc. Ok perhaps a few idiots. Liverpool fans aren’t like that.

15th May 2022 at 11:33 am #196099I only came across this on an online report – Daily Mail and I didn’t notice anything raised whilst watching on TV, but I honestly don’t know why fans would take the slightest of botheration to bring in political stance.
Leave it at home. Just for one day. Times are tough and one’s hard-earned cash shouldn’t resort to booing. Just enjoy the occasion and experience as best as possible.

15th May 2022 at 11:39 am #196100Just ultra grateful. To a point I’m thinking almost too good to be true. I know how far we’ve come over the last half-a-dozen years and the argument has been that we should have won more trophies, but 2 domestic cups in one season after a long wait is unbelieve.
It’s a horrible place to be when you’ve lost.
We never had this in the 90s when Man United were dominating. And with Hicks and Gillette in charge and everything, I never thought I’d see these days.
Makes you think._____________________________

15th May 2022 at 12:02 pm #196101After yesterday and with a few days gone, I don’t feel that precious about the PL. Let Man City win it. They’ll or should over come West Ham. 4-5 nil.
We just need to stay in a winning momentum ourselves and prep for Real Madrid. I think Klopp will make nearer to wholesale changes. Players are tired and we’ve risked key players that have picked up injuries.
Real Madrid must me our priority now in 2 weeks time.

15th May 2022 at 12:02 pm #196102There was a lot of unnecessary noise during Abide with me and the National Anthem but I thought it appeared all around the ground not just at the Liverpool end, wherever it came from it was disgraceful and showed lack of respect for the event or the Nation. Some of course will applaud it and that is the sorry state our great country has become

15th May 2022 at 12:51 pm #196105It’s hard to sort of gauge from a TV screen. It looked like a lot of Reds fans.
I get the world isn’t a great place as such and with everything happening in our country and people not so pleased with our monarchy and our government, but that behaviour is just needless and not the time or the place.
We’re very lucky to have come far over the last 2 years with Covid and everything so shouldn’t in essence take occasions like this for granted.

15th May 2022 at 2:50 pm #196112This can’t be. Surely a 3-2 or 4-2 second half comeback?

15th May 2022 at 4:08 pm #196119Well after all that, we kind of gone back to how it was before we played Spurs.
The only way the Title could be settled by goal difference is if we miraculous thumped Southampton, then drew to Wolves whilst they’d lose to Villa at the Ethiad. Too many permutations and unlikely variables.
We need to win both our games and hope Villa get otherwise the League will be lost once again by 1 point which I’d be gutted but proud at the same time.
Don’t you just dislike that moment when the Ref goes to the Monitor?! You just know what will happen when Anthony Taylor is Refereeing. I won’t hide, I would have been bitter if the game was won in that manner. Thank goodness for the Gods for keeping the flame alive.

15th May 2022 at 4:39 pm #196128It was a blatant penalty, Nil. Really can’t see why Taylor didn’t give it on the pitch.

15th May 2022 at 4:56 pm #196130I don’t dispute it as such gi, but it’s the whole way of it all. I don’t particularly like both Neville and Tyler in the way at times they commentated expecting Man City to comeback as ‘routine’ and that’s the word I would use and highlight on the pen. It’s almost as if it’s written in the script.
It’s ultimately still in Manchester’s hands – grateful to be fair it’s stretched this far.

15th May 2022 at 5:51 pm #196132Nike. I hope we do it- of course but you never know.
Also Everton v Brentford, Oliver up to his usual “how can I ruin a game” mode. Just a rubbish ref._____________________________

16th May 2022 at 2:56 am #196137I find it funny how no one is talking about the fact that it could be Chelsea that finishes outside the CL spots. I mean I know it is unlikely, but it could still happen

16th May 2022 at 6:28 am #196138Booing of the anthem from Liverpool fans has happened from the 80s since the Thatcher government literally gave up on the city. This resentment was further increased with the handling of the Hillsborough disaster by numerous governments since that tragic day. Maybe a little out of order booing William but I think the resentment is towards anyone and anything to do with either the government or the establishment. Can understand why others condone the booing but this is years built up resentment so try looking it at from their view.
Foe the record I don’t agree with the booing of our anthem. I don’t like the anthem and will never sing or stand for it but some take pride in it so let them be.
Not posting this for a political debate just as a few of you I guess didn’t know the reason.

16th May 2022 at 9:49 am #1961411 point from two home matches Leicester and Watford. I think you can be pretty sure that won’t go belly up and don’t forget either Arsenal or Tottenham dropping any points in their last games will get us over the line anyhow. It’s all over!! I reckon Newcastle will nick a draw against Arsenal and that’ll do it without Chelsea having to kick another football.
