Mav,
I get what you mean mate, but having just viewed the history of recent finals, for a competition that supposedly nobody cares about, it’s ‘littered’ with Arsenal, Man United, and Chelsea!! Grrrr
Chelsea will overtake our record of 8 Cups if they win tomorrow and Man United will level with Arsenal.
There’s maybe one or two that I enjoyed watching as a neutral, but apart from my lot in the Millennium Stadia, the competition’s magic was left behind in the 80s mate.
It’s not particularly enjoyable too mate if your own team isn’t involve in it, so a different slant to consider and just enjoy the moment.

18th May 2018 at 5:48 pm #21837Nil-Of course mate, every team should approach every game in every comps with the aim to win it,but the FA cup is the 3rd trophy by importance. The PL and the CL are where I want to see United achieve success, but a trophy is a trophy, even the Qarabao Cup and the Charity Shield.

18th May 2018 at 5:49 pm #21838Ed, I’m not confident at all but if the real Chelsea turn up you just never know in an FA Cup Final as Wimbledon once proved against all the odds.
The whole family is assembling at my son’s with a BBQ planned afterwards so if it all goes tits up at least I can drown my sorrows.?

18th May 2018 at 5:49 pm #21839999-Conte again on record as saying, quote: I have no intention of quitting my job? It sounds as if RA will have to pull the trigger?

18th May 2018 at 5:58 pm #21841Mav, of course he said that why would he resign when he’s entitled to £9m in compensation albeit only payable until he takes another role.
It will probably end in a negotiated settlement and an announcement that Conte is leaving Chelsea by mutual consent.
Personally I think things will get sorted one way or other after the Final.

18th May 2018 at 6:20 pm #21843It’s all about winning the cup. Doesn’t matter how either team plays tomorrow once they win
It’s a trophy and it breeds confidence. I’d be delighted to win it

18th May 2018 at 7:09 pm #21845Mav, agree with all of that mate. Like you, any piece of Silverware is given the gratitude deserved and treated with respect.
The most successful of clubs haven’t got where they are without making every trophy count.
Cheers

18th May 2018 at 7:57 pm #21849999-£9m eh? Any chance me and Banjo can be joint-chiefs of staff of Chelsea? After a few games we will get £4.5m each, hehe.

18th May 2018 at 8:33 pm #21850I’d put my neck on the line to say this final will determine the future of both Managers; both I think are on a tightrope.
That said, I think with Conte, he’d just be buying a be more time.
With Jose, he’d be convincing, but if he didn’t guide United to the League the following season or a European Cup, then his neck would be on the line.

18th May 2018 at 8:43 pm #21852I really can’t see an FA Cup win buying Conte any more time rightly or wrongly I think the decision has already taken.

18th May 2018 at 8:48 pm #21853Mav, if you read the whole interview I think Frank makes some good points re Pogba but it’s probably best not to poke the Bear the day before an FA Cup Final.

18th May 2018 at 9:09 pm #21855My only actual problem is that I wish this was 3’O’Clock and I really don’t understand why we’ve let traditions with the times slip away.
Her Majesty: Speak Up! Hahaha 🙂

19th May 2018 at 8:05 am #21856Nil, I agree it’s a shame to lose the traditional 3pm kick off time for the FA Cup Final but at least we’ve got back to the Final being the last game of the Season and a stand alone game all on it’s own.
Which is fitting for the oldest Cup competition in World football. Cheers 999

19th May 2018 at 10:07 am #21857999-Lampard only agrees with what some of us have been saying for months, the emoji [youtube] man is extremely overrated. Not many of us United fans would miss him were he to piss off to PSG or China.Would have SMS and Jorginho instead of him and Matic-yesterday.

19th May 2018 at 10:11 am #21858Nil-If I was still living in the UK mate I would have been off to London for the wedding 1st,and then find a nice pub and watch the game. But yes I agree, the wedding should have been taken place on Sunday. Its all Chucky`s fault mate! Him and Banjo should have sorted things out now that D.Winton is sadly not with us anymore.

Cheers
