Christian Erikson collapsed on the field and was gone for a I think a few minutes before they thankfully revived him but I can’t believe they restarted the game how can in particular the Danes be mentally tuned into the game after that? it should have been declared a no contest with 1 point each.

Blaze, by all accounts, Eriksen spoke to the team and encouraged them to continue the game. Without that happening, I don’t think anyone would have pressured either side into continuing. It was a decision taken by both sets of players, nobody else.

Sadly even with a full recovery by Eriksen it is unlikely that he will be able to continue his football career.

I was watching it live and you could see just before he collopased there was something wrong. So happy he is ok. That was a very tough watch

How the European broadcaster kept broadcasting is terrible also going onto Eriksens wife crying. Media really don’t give a fuck once they get a picture or a story

So sad if he has to retire. Quality player scored some great goals especially one I remember at bridge few years back was an amazing strike. At least he goes out a champion as his talent deserved.

I think it could be purely down to experience and tried-tested. In saying that, players in Shaw and Chilwell should be given a chance with firm faith and confidence.

I would have preferred to have seen a dedicated left back starting. I guess it’s as Nil says Trippier offers a bit more tournament experience let’s hope he and everyone else selected have great games and it’s an England win.

Croatia are a good team though and it won’t be easy.

Happily take a one nil off someone’s bum if necessary.😊

Can only think Chilwell and Sancho have knocks as they aren’t even on the bench. Must admit, even though I would have picked Chilwell ahead of Shaw, I would have picked Shaw well ahead of Trippier at left back. Bizarre decision, but hope it works. Read somewhere that Croatia’s right winger plays for Atletico, so Trippier will know all about him? Don’t know if it’s true, but if it is, I guess there may be some logic to Southgate’s thinking

30 degrees at Wembley. Naturally, they gotta play this out smartly. Need somebody tight on Modric. In saying that we shouldn’t worry too much if they have the ball and possession. Main thing is we don’t tire ourselves out too soon and pick up injuries.
