Belgium’s golden generation out again. There is a lot of pressure with that kind of tag and whenever Belgium go deep in a tournament you can see it weighing heavily. Italy are a very experienced side which is a quality that cannot be underestimated.

The cheating really does ruin games and I think players, pundits ans refs need to just call it out for what it is instead of saying ‘they used their experience’ or ‘they’re good at the dark arts’. It’s cheating, just say it.
Saying that it was still a cracking game.

Could very well end up a England v Italy final. As a neutral wasn’t too worried who won but it was a very exciting game not technically too great, players from both sides were falling down at the end but to be fair it looked real, playing at this tempo can make you pull up towards the end, we seen it before even in the EPL.

Not sure how any of us could be disappointed with this game it had everything was played at great pace and quality and contained a great second goal by Insigne.

Surely one of the best games of the tournament so far with a great Semi Final looming.

I think as soon as you start hearing the words “golden generation” labelled on a country’s team, you might as well forget any success there and then. It’s the best team that wins things, not the best players. As I said before, the casual way the Belgium defenders just stood off Insigne as he lined up his shot to score just epitomised the difference between the sides. No way the Italian defenders would have done such a thing, they would have closed down such a player immediately in packs.

Watching the game yesterday I got sick and tired of the Italian cheating. I know they have been doing it for years. That little twerp Verati is just about the worst. They are the opitamy of cowards. They hold their heads when tney havent been touched etc etc,

And we had Oliver in the other game…sorry Ed but he is useless. Never a Swiss red card

Nil..the game has changed a lot since 90 and 96. I do not think you can compare.
There are downsides to to days level though and as recently highlighted the “cheating” is becoming more evident, some excell at it!!!! It is awful to watch and hope the Refs getter smarter and tougher with it. On the subject of Refs, noticeable this tournament that Refs are letting the game flow more or is it my imagination? To be honest , not seen that many games but did watch the Spainish match, which I thought was poor but enjoyed the 60 min I watched of the Italy/belgium game
