Which proves “most” of us are fickle-fookers at best… 🙂

15th August 2019 at 11:14 am #45370At the time of TV Cameras showing replays, one of the angles looked a bit iffy. Maybe it was a Pen and some kind of a soft one. Regarding the Gender, it didn’t really cross my mind. I just want somebody experienced, reputable and knows what they are doing, be it Male or Female.
Anyway, more to the point I apologize for my language last night, that’s not the standards I encourage as a member. And the thought didn’t cross my mind being aware of Chelsea Supporters posting on here or Nine and no intent what so ever to cause any offence – I’m not that kind of guy. I’m passionate about my club and desperate to win trophies – it’s frustration leading to aggression.
We didn’t bring our A game and that first half was abject. There may be a trace of arrogance, but based on everything we achieved and the way we progressed last season, my expectations have heighted. We should be on the same sort of level as Manchester City. We can’t afford to slide down and regress – that’s my fear deep-down.
We need be actually up for finals if we’ve reached them and not treat them like pre-season friendlies, otherwise what is the point? For what it’s worth, Chelsea gave us more than a good game and were the better side 1st half. I am surprised they are or actually have raised their standards without Hazard and don’t see why they can’t finish in the Top 4 this season (as predicted on another thread).

15th August 2019 at 11:17 am #45372One other observation that irked me: Why don’t Managers no longer dress in Suits? I don’t know what the Temperature/Climate was supposed to be, but this is the SUPER CUP, not some Mickey Mouse Friendly – make an effort!!!!!

15th August 2019 at 11:33 am #45374Nil, fair do’s on your attempted apology but seriously how can you not be aware of myself and other Chelsea posters posting on here and I wasn’t the first to rebuke you over your behaviour last night it was one of your own.
I read something elsewhere once that said behave on a General Football Forum as you would behave in a Pub with a different mix of fans watching the game on TV with you I dread to think what might happen to you in that situation behaving like you did again last night in such a situation.
It’s a great piece of advice appertaining to you.
Unfortunately these regular apologies from you are just empty words if you keep repeating the very same things a few weeks later which is what has continuously happend on here since you’ve been posting on here and you’ve had the same problems wherever you have posted previously.
You need to sort yourself out mate once and for all otherwise you’re going to leave the Editor with no choice but to ban you again if the same things keep happening time and time again.
I don’t want to see you banned but it’s all in your hands buddie.

15th August 2019 at 11:38 am #45375agree 999
Nil you cant keep mouthing off, being offensive and a general tit then think its ok as long as you do the poor me im sorry speach the next day, the first few hindred times you got awaqy with it, now its very old
no one should get as het up as you do about a sports team to the point it affectsa their entire life and personality and certainly should refrain from posting on a forum until the emotions have calmed….
i think its less the frustration and emotion and more you cant handle booze…..
as 999 says above you did any of this in a pub and you would be smacked in minutes with no chance to “apologise”

15th August 2019 at 11:39 am #45377Re Chucky’s point re the final penalty in the shoot out putting aside the rights and wrongs of the penalty during the game.
I think the main question with regards to what happened in the shoot out is why wasn’t that picked up by VAR as it was a clear and obvious error by the Referee although that shouldn’t overshadow the very good game she had.

15th August 2019 at 11:41 am #45379it seems to be VAR used in Europe is a very different system to what we have seen in the PL and far worse…..again no consistency, drives you mad but its just part of the game now

15th August 2019 at 12:15 pm #45381The Pub is slightly a different scene compared to the one sat in the stands which I have observed when sat in the Kop at Leicester. There are some irate fans I’ve had to sit with and I get their feeling of pain or frustration.
There’s one thing I don’t like and that’s an abject performance with very little heart or soul. Where else would you vent your spleen? I’m not one of those who’d pop out for a quick Cigarette and calm down. I get those old school set of fans working Monday-to-Friday slogging out their guts and needing a release on a Saturday.
Funnily enough I was once at a Snooker club when Liverpool were losing to West Brom in a Cup game 2 seasons or so ago and I was lucky I was pre-occupied with a game of Pool. I was not a happy bunny looking at those TV screens – such is life.

15th August 2019 at 12:24 pm #45382AnonymousCongrats pool on the result and cup. I left the stadium feeling like Chelsea had won. Total contrast to the mauling at united, this side had fight. Still look shaky at the transition. But lots of really big positives for us going into the game against Leicester.
Tammy Abraham needs a little more composure.
Eden who after Pulisic’s cameo performance. Very, very, bright and pacy player on our books, think the pram will like him.
Losing Hazard is probably a blessing in disguise. For me, the best player in the pram has ben Kante Makalele. The guy channels Claude and has more to his game than him. If we had lost him this summer, we’d be in a relegation battle.
Very little between the sides, Liverpool have more to play for than us this season, I think bar a cup final that was our highlight of the season as I still think its going to be a long hard season but Im far more optimistic having seen the Chelsea reaction. Liverpool are going to get better. Hope you get the title this year chaps and chapesses.

15th August 2019 at 12:29 pm #45383AnonymousNew Balance… Here’s a word… magnanimous… it means… and seeming as were dealing with gender on here to… it means “generous or forgiving, especially towards a rival or less powerful person.”
“she should be magnanimous in victory”Thought the Linneswomen looked good in the shorts and socks… no room for celery chants anymore… the shame… wheres Ulrica when you need her? The officiating was really good I thought, didnt stop the players moaning did it. 😉

15th August 2019 at 12:33 pm #45384Nil, you are just an idiot. I urge you to go an see someone about your strange temper tantrums. You are like a little child. Also, if you can’t handle a shandy, stick to Ribena.

15th August 2019 at 1:07 pm #45385442, lol, might get in a spot of bother for comments or ‘compliments’ like that, hahaha – we can’t allow appearances to cloud our judgement 😛 😀
On a little more of a serious note, commiserations to you. I do see your Boss though able to get a serious tune of this Chelsea team – may well be better than Saari, who knows.

15th August 2019 at 1:42 pm #45388Mr. Balance, I’ve stuck up for you in the past, but unfortunately I won’t anymore. That was the most insincere apology I’ve seen for a long time, no remorse, just hide behind the “I’m passionate” excuse yet again.
When Liverpool lose, you do realise that you will probably cop a load of stick on here, and I would be surprised if any fellow Pool fans come to your defence after besmirching there good name and reputation…..Pagan_____________________________

15th August 2019 at 1:44 pm #45389Anonymous“The VAR video was inconclusive and I believe if that’s the case then they cannot over-rule the ref’s decision, think it states this in the rule book. My first opinion was no pen, and I maintain that now, but VAR actually did it’s job.”
This is what the panel were saying on the channel I watched it on also. I don’t agree though. One of the angles shows with certainty that there is no foul. So, I definitely do not agree with you by saying that VAR did it’s job. If this is it’s job, then we don’t need it.

15th August 2019 at 1:58 pm #45390Mak, and that’s the problem using video replays for matters of opinion rather than just matters of fact. For me cricket uses video most effectively with the aid of ball tracking and ultra edge, the only contentious decisions you really get are catches where the ball may have grounded…..Pagan

15th August 2019 at 2:06 pm #45391There’s little hope for you Nil you just don’t get it do you!
The Pub analogy that Stevo amplified on was me trying to point you in the right direction re behaviour on here, you need to change or I suspect you will be looking for another site to post on soon and sadly you will run into the same problems on any new site you join just as you have on here and all the previous sites you’ve posted on even the Liverpool site!
Put simply your behaviour on a General Football Forum is totally unacceptable and only you can put that right.

15th August 2019 at 2:12 pm #45392Other comments on here pretty much sum up why I don’t like VAR.
In cricket/rugby, it’s pretty much used for issues that are simply black and white. Did the ball hit the bat? Did it touch the floor? Was the foot over the line? Etc.. etc…
In football, other than offsides, where they can draw the line so that’s pretty much black and white, I can’t think you’ve really got a scenario which makes the problem go away. Was it a foul? Err… was there enough contact in a contact sport that makes it a foul?? And every slow reply always makes look worse than what it is. Did it touch his arm? Okay, black and white, but unless the rule is simply “touch the arm, free-kick/peno” then we’ll end up with all sorts of continuing debate about it. And it doesn’t help with players “acting” all the time.
Still don’t like, doubt I ever well, it’s taking away the spirit of the game in my humble opinion.

15th August 2019 at 2:15 pm #45393And I don’t quite understand why every body is getting wound up over Nil either. We all know he is more than capable of being a plonker at times (sorry cyber chum, but you do!!), and just venting like Thomas the Tank Engine on speed. I find it all quite amusing to be honest!!
I think you’re all taking him a bit too seriously when he’s in full on breakdown mode! 🙂

15th August 2019 at 2:16 pm #45394Chuckles, I think you’re onto something there, make footy non contact and VAR will work. As you know I’m with you in regards to it….Pagan
