16th August 2019 at 3:23 pm #45513Mak, poor preseason mate. Set a bit of a precedent going into the new season.
Second half Norwich decended in quality.
Hope though we improve.

16th August 2019 at 3:59 pm #45517AnonymousNorwich game should be gone, by your standards but no, jokes aside… ya the second half faded but we won 4-1. Thats got to be good enough, or you’ve set the bar too high even for klopp to reach.
Take advice ans count the stars. From here on you’ve got to know that you cant lament a successful season. Its going to come across as you rubbing it in people’s faces.
For me, the CL win was a bit strange, in that our comeback against barca was never going to be matched. I had a very weird experience watching the final then. It was raining and we were outside watching a big screen that was entirely missing the colour red. It couldnt display it, so liverpools jerseys were kinda black looking. The rain meant I had trouble seeing it, as I have glasses. Then the super early goal actually killed the gane as a competition.
I loved the second goal but on the whole, I have better memories from matches. Funnily enough the CL final that we lost in 2007 is one. On that swelteringly hot day, I borrowed my friends projector and set it up in my front room. The heat from it and the fact that i had to black out the windows made for a sauna … but the cold beer and the incredible screen (setup a good spund systen also) really made it an occasion. We lost of course… but it was still good.
So, my point here is that sometimes the manner of something can take away from the achievement and if thats happened to you in some way then I recommend that you watch the barca game again. You remember what that comeback felt like.
If that does notbing then revert to previous advice and get yourself right. Theres no shame in seeking help. We all need it from time to time. Of course on here, Id just say to be more honest. That will go such a long way.

16th August 2019 at 5:27 pm #45521Mak, my thoughts in my own mind is the fear of second season syndrome in regressing and at the same time, carrying over last season’s fantastic momentum.
I remember Pep mentioning a couple of weeks ago or last week how his City side still need to improve and that’s exactly what I have in mind with our lot if we want to go that one better.
Re: the other talking point, I recently joined my company online support group. Quite a number of people on there and really supportive.

16th August 2019 at 5:37 pm #45523The cl win win this year was up there with 05. Was at a family wedding and watched it with my dad and my cousins who are all big reds fans. Partied all night
Then next morning, I watched all the highlights, Hendo lifting trophy etc. I sat there for 4 hours watching everything then went back out with cousins and had a ball. Best weekend of the summer. Great memories

16th August 2019 at 6:15 pm #45525AnonymousFair enough Nil. I think all Liverpool supporters would have welcomed a signing or 2 but the reality is that a combination of players not really being wanted by Klopp, the players he might like not being available and FSG having to ease off on the spending.
The man who won us the Cl last season has said that the best way forward is on the training pitches. Maybe he’s wrong and doesn’t know what he’s talking about, or maybe the guy who brought this forward year on year knows best.
Also when you think of 2nd season syndrome, that would have been last season after the CL final appearance. or maybe the season before after the EL final appearance. Remember not making the CL and relying on a EL win to get there.. and then we failed? That definitely looked like trouble and after a shaky start the following season, the press were even questioning if it was time to fire Klopp. But then he went and brought the steam another step forward and as we sit here now, the rest literally is history.
Nil, when you look back at these absolutely BRILLIANT times as a Liverpool fan, do you want to remember being upset immediately after winning the CL and worrying constantly? If you can’t enjoy the aftermath of winning the biggest tournament in club football then you’ve got to consider following the sport at all.
Personally I think you just need to get your head out of the negativity and as I’ve said before, you might need to seek professional help because all we can do here is tell you to drink less and try and get some exercise. If you’re not enjoying the thing you love the most (when it’s going so well) then I think you NEED to seriously consider getting treatment of some kind.
Now, in the meantime, let’s forget about all this and focus on the Southampton game. Drink 1 or 2 less and try to enjoy the match. I think it’ll be a good one.

16th August 2019 at 7:52 pm #45530AnonymousGood call man. If you do end up with beer, pick a number below your drunk level and stick firm to it. GL man and I’ll see you in the match thread 😉

16th August 2019 at 8:12 pm #45531Mak, ok mate,
I do appreciate your concern genuinely, but I honestly never in my life had a day-time beer albeit only Xmas Day and once when I was 17 – no interest to me. Contrary to what splashes out in moments of madness, I’m sensible and responsible. In fact, somebody strong and reliable with great work ethic.
I think often it’s a case of a picture badly painted. A few pieces of Silverware and I’ll be fine haha 🙂 🙂

16th August 2019 at 8:38 pm #45532I think it’s probably time to draw a line under this Nil thing and, with it, this thread.
Congrats again Liverpool fans on here. Commiserations Chelsea fans.
Upon hearing that Threeps (and I’m sure others) have in the past or are likely in the future to avoid the site due to Nil, let me be clear that this is Nil’s final warning. Any more outbursts like the last one and he’ll be gone for good. Saying it publicly is not intended to humiliate Nil but to reassure the rest that it won’t be tolerated going forward and to not allow it to put them off posting. Moving on to the PL!
