Chelsea are going to so regret letting Conte go and all because he wasn’t interested in Maria’s advances.

5th August 2018 at 7:42 pm #24862Moos,Conte made it very difficult for the Board to retain him you can’t attack your bosses week in week out in front of the media and expect to get away with it.
He also fell out with several key players and losing Costa in the way he did accepting that Costa is difficult to manage was a mistake.
Great Coach but he has flaws and the same problems that saw him leave Juve which were his club unfortunstely repeated themselves at Chelsea.
Also his whole personna for the majority of last season dragged the team down.
I would hope that no one is judging Sarri after three weeks with 6 big players yet to return to the club.

5th August 2018 at 8:00 pm #24864It was just a glorified friendly and points to very little when it comes to the PL.
Sorry Jose but its not a major trophy as you would have had us believe…..
Foden looks really promising and should certainly be part of the first team squad.
Wonder what Jorginho thinks. Id love to REALLY know.
If Chelsea stick with Luiz at CB they will have problems. Had to listen to the last 20mins on the radio – family visit – they were not very complimentary about Chelsea. I wonder what Chelsea fans thought about it._____________________________

5th August 2018 at 8:13 pm #24865Evening gents, on way back from game, many empty seats in both ends but lovely warm day and cold magners. I was surprised city were so strong, thought Pep would add more kids but Bernardo and Foden were excellent. Mendy was like a brand new top signing, as is Laporte in a way so our squad is much stronger than last season. That said everyone will be stronger so it will be a tough season this year I think but I can see why we are slight favourites.
Had a lot of work to do end of last season so sorry I didnβt log in and say hi but I will be from now on.

5th August 2018 at 9:31 pm #24866Adlab, difficult to offer objective views from spending 20 minutes listening to the game on the Radio. Luiz wasn’t great but nobody in a Chelsea shirt was.
Sarri has only been at the club for 23 days, he’s trying to introduce a completely different way of playing into the team, Chelsea are still waiting for 6 players to return to training some of which are our best players and we were playing against an exceptional team with an exceptional squad with an exceptional Manager.
City were great Chelsea were poor am I suprised? Not at all Chelsea won’t be competing for the title with City they are a team in transition and the major objective has to be trying to compete for a CL place and they were playing the best side in the PL with the best squad.
As for Jorginho he made his choice based on playing for Sarri and playing in London let it go mate.

6th August 2018 at 5:07 am #24871Anonymous999 I know all that but still think at some stage Chelsea will want Conte back not obviously for a couple of years still. As for Sarri I don’t think he will be a success.

6th August 2018 at 8:25 am #24873AnonymousConte knew the weakness in the squad but the board were not interested and in fact Roman for whatever reason took a personal dislike to Conte early on and that was the start of the downswing in the relationship. If your boss don’t like you he ain’t going to give in to your demands. On the other most of these managers are too stubborn to try a different approach on and off the field and that includes Conte, Maureen, Klopp, Wanger plus many more. They have to also realize they are only employee’s.

6th August 2018 at 8:28 am #24874Moos, I reckon there’s more chance of you playing instead of Morata in our first game of the Season away to Huddersfield than there is of Conte ever returning.
Both sides of the divide last season should have been big enough to acknowledge their faults and then we might have been looking at a different situation with Conte.
You’re entitled to your opinion of Sarri of course but imo it’s the responsibility of all Chelsea fans to get behind Sarri,he’s got a massive task on his hands to point the Ship in the right direction and he needs the wholehearted support of everyone and nobody should be questioning him on the back of yesterday when he’s had 23 days in the job and is still waiting to meet six of his squad some of whom are his most influential players!

6th August 2018 at 8:40 am #24876“Did anyone really expect anything more from Chelsea yet?
You have to put the defeat into some perspective, something that Sarri pointed out before the match. Guardiola has been working with his side for two years while the Italian has had all but three weeks to try to get his team together.
It was never going to happen overnight, not in a million years. There was never going to be just a massive bounce, there was going to be a lot of change needed and it is the early stages.
City might have had some of their World Cup players missing, but the missing of Chelsea’s obviously hit them a lot more, especially in the form of Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante.
Things will get better and it has to take time, so let’s have patience.”
The above from Football London looks like a sensible analysis to me.
Below is their analysis of City which looks pretty sensible to me too!
“Manchester City can go all the way again
They might have been missing Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva, but it doesn’t seem like Manchester City would be suffering that much at all and it was pretty ominous for those other clubs around.
The Blues have some work to do, but the scary thing is where season three of Pep Guardiola’s reign could be an even frightening prospect for those in the Premier League.
City are going to be clear favourites for the title once again and it is going to take something special to beat them.”

6th August 2018 at 9:20 am #24881You cannot complete the latest teams at the moment but as the shield is only a glorified friendly more youth players from both teams should have played a part. That’s the only way to find those gems.

Sari needs time to implement a whole new style. Problem is you donβt get time at Chelsea

6th August 2018 at 12:00 pm #24891Come on Sean .
Sarri has already had 23 days leading up to the City game and he was only missing 6 players who he hasn’t even seen yet three of which are his best players.
There can be no excuses!?
But even Chelsea give their Managers longer than 23 days!?
