Nice letter from Hazard to the fans unlike Courtois he’s leaving the right way.

8th June 2019 at 10:12 am #42283Chelsea keep winning trophies so there strategy at the minute is working.
Roman wanted the football to improve and sari was brought in but after a good start, you could see he was not a proper fit. Too stubborn and saying all the wrong things. Looks like it was his choice to leave though
Frank be a crazy appointment really. Allegri be a decent choice but he plays conservative football like conte.
Some really good young players. Really like Reece James. Good powerful player. Abraham needs a chance. Mount is to slow for me.

10th June 2019 at 8:13 am #42315The compensation impasse on Sarri joining Juventus seems to have been fixed by Juve agreeing to reduce the monies owed for the Higuain loan move by Β£8m. Which suggests we’re likely to see movement this week?

10th June 2019 at 8:20 am #42316AnonymousPagan, that’s a good line of thought and you might be right. I’d like to see Chelsea thrive while bringing through some youngsters. It would send out a strong message to the other big clubs and would be good for the game in general.
As for silly season, the rumours are the De Leigt , or whatever his name is wants to come to Liverpool under the condition that we make him the highest earner. I know it’s likely BS but if it were true, I’d have a huge problem with that. This guy is unproven in the PL. He’s flavour of the month and seemingly for good reason but we’ve already got the best CB in the world. Why pay someone else more than him? As for the actual position, we don’t even really need him. Matip and Gomez (fitness depending) are more than good enough, especially Gomez, who I think is one of the best in the PL, if only he can stay fit!!!
Klopp and his team know best and maybe the news on Gomez is not good. He took a long time to heal, so perhaps he has a medical condition that is doing some damage that we’re unaware of. If Klopp wants Van Dijks International partner then I’ll get excited about it but personally I don’t think we should get on this hype train.
I’ve heard that Fekir is going for a cut rate of as low as 15M pounds… That surely cant be true but if it is, we’ve got to take the risk.

10th June 2019 at 8:41 am #42317Mak, wages aside and no disrespect to Gomez but De Ligt would be a massive signing for Liverpool.
Paired with VVD it would make Liverpool virtually unbreachable lots of interest in him from all the big Clubs in Europe and he’s going away on holiday to think about it all now.
Unfortunately his Agent is Raiola and he will look for the biggest package including what’s in it for him personally.
I saw the Fekir rumours too. He’s into the last year of his contract and 15m Euros was suggested not sure he’ll go for as low as that but he will be available at a bargain price this Summer and someone will snap him up.

10th June 2019 at 9:01 am #42319Stories in the press that United are prepared to pay De Gea Β£20m to go this Summer in order to get a decent fee for him rather than let him leave on a free next Summer.
Big miss for United if he goes despite his end of season form.

10th June 2019 at 1:09 pm #42322AnonymousIs this going to be “we bid Β£squillions but he went to Fisher Athletic” or ” we put in a bid 75% below asking price so he went to a proper club” or we have FA money as Baldy has spent it ???
Or does he have another excuse up his sleeve for 2019 ??? If Levy shows zero intent of spending big, which we need ,I can see an Exodus from Spurs and I would’nt blame them, this side has given everything._____________________________

10th June 2019 at 1:47 pm #42324tba, I have understand your frustration mate and I think you’re right if Levy doesn’t spend on a couple of decent players this Summer I think both the players and Poch will question Spurs ambition especially as you’re so close now.
Time will tell but to be fair nobody has bought anyone of merit amongst the top sides yet but there’s still time and Spurs do seem to be in for one or two too. Cheers 999

10th June 2019 at 2:06 pm #42325Bricky… I know you can never believe rumors but a fairly accurate dicky-bird, who has had a pretty decent “success-rate” over the years has tweeted there will be 4 new “first-team” players coming in this summer, with a couple of youngsters, regardless of outgoings… and very likely more depending on outgoings…
Off course, it could be 4 sort of 30mill players who are likely to be “fringe” to start with, but I’m pretty sure there will be some new faces come August… we’re certainly looking at Tottenham 2.0 next season…

10th June 2019 at 2:18 pm #42328Think you’re right too Stevo if Spurs lose those players they will need replacing and on top of that they need to invest too.
Be foolish not to.
No point in having a great Stafium and an average team and Spurs are so close to winning top trophies but it could all fall apart if they get this Summer wrong.
Despite Levy’s miserly reputation I think he’s smart enough to realise that. Unfortunately.?

10th June 2019 at 2:33 pm #42329“Chelsea are having second thoughts about signing Mateo Kovacic now that Maurizio Sarri is on the verge of joining Juventus.” Simon Johnson Evening Standard .
Johnson is usually preety spot on with Chelsea news. It makes sense no point in throwing a big slice of the Hazard fee away on Kovacic with Bakayoko coming back, Mount likely to be added to the squad and hopefully Lotus Cheek back by Christmas or thereabouts.
Given Chelsea are allegedly sending Higuain back to Juve Kovacic was the only player Chelsea could sign in the Summer due to the ban which whilst appealed stays in place without Chelsea request it to be suspended which they haven’t so far.

10th June 2019 at 2:46 pm #42330Theres a lot of hype about de Ligt and it looks like many are falling for it, but how many have seen him play regularly? Didn’t he get bullied by Llorente in the semi final? He probably has got potential but for me Gomez is the more developed defender and would rather he was VvD long term partner.

10th June 2019 at 2:53 pm #42331threeps, hand on heart I haven’t seen him regularly but when I have seen him he’s looked a talent. Good point re Gomez so it will be down to Klopp as to whether he goes after him there are a lot of Clubs interested anyway so it will eventually come down to De light’s cboice

10th June 2019 at 2:56 pm #42332Anonymous27 + Chucky, Levy for some misguided, idiotic , brainless reason thinks if you leave it late you get a bargain .It would be good to get the players in now , not deadline day when you find him scouring the bargain basement .To me this is the biggest transfer window I will ever see, it could be a window where I am deleriosly happy or one where this team and their manager break up and go their way.
Steveo , The Daily Fail, that Spurs hating rag, you don’t seriously read that mate tell me you’re just winding me up!!!!! !! TBH Steve , as I say above this could be the making or breaking of this club. We have best club ground tick, best training ground tick, excellent home and away support (apart from the same boring chants) tick, now if you add maybe 4 quality players to what we have it could lift Spurs to another level where we are in contention for every trophy. 2019/2020 season will be the hardest yet, Arsenal, City, Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea will all spend big and I don’t think it will be just 2 sides in it , I just want my team to be in with a shout as does every man on this site.Keep well you Gooner_____________________________

10th June 2019 at 5:27 pm #42333“De Ligt will go to PSG because of the finances.”
Danny Murphy told talkSPORT that PSG are closing in on a move for Matthijs De Ligt.
Would that be a good move? ? “
