Martin Keown’s thoughts on Luiz to Arsenal. .
“The way the 32-year-old plays, he would be exposed in that Arsenal defence. He would not get the same protection that he enjoys at Chelsea, where N’Golo Kante patrols in front of the back line.
“In possession, Luiz is a wonderful passer, but he makes mistakes when playing as part of a back four.”

8th August 2019 at 9:39 am #44735With you on all of that 442. I can’t believe will be lucky enough to sell one or both of Drinkwater and Baka. Probably loan deals at best.
Re Dybala to Spurs agree it could be a game changer can’t see Spurs meeting his wage demands tho. Cheers 9’s_____________________________

8th August 2019 at 9:50 am #44736Depending on your clickbait of choice, it’s this 3rd party image rights that are the problem. Transfer and wages are all sorted…

8th August 2019 at 10:33 am #44741If Spurs sign Lo Celso,Dybala & Sesseegnoooonnn, they are my favs for the title.I cant believe Klopp is no trying to sign Bale or/and James.
DL & Tierney excellent signings for Arse, they just sold Kosc & signing Luiz for £8m today is a bargain! He will also be a good cover till the young chap signed from France comes back next year._____________________________

8th August 2019 at 10:52 am #44744When Dybala was linked to Utd Mav, you were saying he’d be no good in the PL ?. Good signing for Spurs if it happens but I’m glad we resisted the crazy wage. Will upset the apple cart at Spurs I think with everyone soon wanting a raise

8th August 2019 at 11:09 am #44746Ed, Harry will be the first one knocking on Daniels door if Dyabala happens at Spurs on similar wages to what he was asking of United.

8th August 2019 at 11:18 am #44747All the reports are saying the wages are the same Nine so you’d assume so. Potentially a more appealing deal regardless considering the factor of London vs Manchester and CL vs EL, but it’s definitely going to cost them. Great short term signing. Potentially very dangerous for the long term stability of the squad.

8th August 2019 at 11:22 am #44749Eddy-I just couldnt see him fitting in @ United,I have no idea how he will function @ Spurs.Could turn out to be another B.Silva,S.Mane or an E.Lamela.But one thing I agree with, the £350k p/w that he apparently wants will indeed cause huge probloems with the rest of Spuds players.i.e.Kane,Son,Alli,Lloris,etc.

8th August 2019 at 11:28 am #44751Still potentially dangerous as the whole world knows Spurs were prepared to offer £350k a week to a top player. No longer can they say to their top talents that their demands don’t fit into their wage structure. We all now know that’s rubbish and so do the agents of their top players

8th August 2019 at 11:40 am #44753Nine, if that is exactly what’s happened regarding Luiz, then we’ll see, but it’s just the way it seems to have come as such a surprise to Lampard? If it was a surprise, then surely he didn’t want him to leave?
As for Utd and more transformative players, there may not seem many about on the surface, but Allegri may well have identified others who weren’t necessarily world class, but could still potentially have had a big impact on Utd and still transformed them somewhat. My point here is I think Allegri would have been supported more than Solksjaer has. As I say, I think Utd’s signings under him are more safe, essential and somewhat board signings as opposed to being completely his.

8th August 2019 at 11:58 am #44754Off again ?
Paulo Dybala is NOT going to join Tottenham. Meeting just finished and no agreement on image rights with Spurs. Juventus and player agents are convinced that ‘the deal is called OFF’. ❌ #THFC #Tottenham #transfers

8th August 2019 at 12:06 pm #44755Yeah, just checked in on the BBC summary page re Dybala. Some last-minute type deals that feel pressurized can be subjected to going wrong.
5 o’clock deadline, then this circus will finally be put to bed.
A bit surprised on the Luiz deal – not really a long-term solution for the Gunners, but more in papering cracks.

8th August 2019 at 12:23 pm #44756Mikus, if a player throws his toys out of the pram he’s better gone. Lampard is building for the future and Luiz at 32 isn’t really that.
If Lampard had have wanted him to stay he could have just said no he was contracted for another 2 years.
Frank wasn’t having it and good on him for that this has been bubbling for a couple of weeks so it’s not as last minute as you think.
