Tottenham have rejoined the race to sign Bruno Fernandes from Sporting CP, reports in Portugal claim.

Attacking midfielder Fernandes, who scored 32 goals in all competitions last season, has been regularly linked with a move to Manchester United this summer.

However, both Record and A Bola claim that another Premier League suitor have made an offer for the Portuguese star – with Spurs making contact with a €45m bid.

That bid has been swiftly rejected by the Lisbon-based side, who want somewhere closer to €70m.

Maguire way overpriced but unquestionably improves a poor defence. He’ll need to be as good as his heroes Vidic and Rio to justify that huge fee though. On the other hand, people were laughing at Liverpool for paying 75mil for Virgil and that look a great piece of business now so these perceptions can change quickly.

Just need Lukaku out now, a replacement for him and a central midfielder. I have my doubts about Dybala and Fernandes but we’ll see.

The way things are going Utd may do what they’ve only done once over the last 10 years and that’s to be the biggest spenders in the window.
