Lovely goal by Pedro.
Sean, make your mind up mate. “Maguire nearly done…” you said it was all done about 4 weeks ago! ?

1st August 2019 at 1:06 pm #44212Manchester United target Paulo Dybala has reportedly demanded specialist treatment if he is to join from Juventus this transfer window.
And Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri has claimed the Argentina international wants no clause in his contract that would see his wages reduced.
Dybala wants Β£9million annually to join Manchester United.
As things stand, playerβs at the club have had their wages slashed by 25 per cent due to their failure to qualify for the Champions League.
But Palmeri has revealed that Dybala has demanded that no such clause be placed within his own contract.
βDybala requested 10mβ¬ net per year to Manchester United, but not accepting 25% cut clause if no Champions League spot that Mufc impose on whole squad,β he tweeted.
βDybala playing difficult, Lukaku-Juventus on hold. Few days ago Dybala rejected Inter. Meanwhile, Cavani too rejected Inter.β Daily Express today.
This one could be wobbling?

1st August 2019 at 1:07 pm #44213I have a feeling Bale staying at Real prevents Real from getting Pogba in. I also think that if Dybala is done, it’ll be him and Maguire. Nothing more. Which is a bit concerning because Utd badly need a centre midfielder with Hererra gone and Fellaini before him. I think Ole is likely to rely on the academy players there

1st August 2019 at 1:08 pm #44214Ed, on Sky Sports News today they were speculating that Leicester are holding out for Β£90m and United are only prepared to go to Β£80m?

1st August 2019 at 1:14 pm #44215Can’t really blame Dybala for trying to get rid of that clause tbh. Far from a guarantee that Utd will regularly get CL football the coming years.
Yeah Nine, looking like one will have to budge. I can’t see Utd going to 90. I think they’d sooner turn to alternative targets than cough up that much.

1st August 2019 at 1:25 pm #44216Ed, I think everyone agrees that Β£80m is too much for Maguire but Β£90m although only Β£10m more is just Leicester squeezing the pips and I think United would be right to turn away at that price.
Problem is United need a quality Centre Back and even more so now after the Bailly injury and who can they turn to?
Maguire will get sorted one way or another in the next couple of days because if he goes Leicester need to sign a replacement.

1st August 2019 at 2:58 pm #44219Sean, to be fair if Maguire was a done deal he would be at OT undergoing a medical now of better still have passed his medical and training with the United squad. It may well get done I think it will but currently both sides seem wide apart on the valuation and Rodgers quotes below seem to confirm that.
The Red Devils are believed to have seen their latest bid of Β£70million rejected for the England international, with Leicester more than happy to play hardball in negotiations, having openly insisted they have no need to sell.
And with Leicester sticking to their guns over their Β£90million asking price, it seems United will either have to meet the Foxesβ valuation β or admit defeat and walk away from the deal.
“Foxes boss Rodgers remains adamant his club have not had an acceptable offer for Maguire and has praised his clubβs directors for refusing to cave in.
βAs of this day, the valuation for Harry hasnβt been met that would trigger any communication with the player and the other club. Thereβs no change,β Rodgers told BBC Leicester Sport.
βFor me, Top, John Rudkin [director of football] and Susan Whelan [chief executive] are doing a great job in relation to that.
βThe club hasnβt changed its stance in terms of the valuation for the player.β

1st August 2019 at 6:22 pm #44227Mav, I heard that it was Β£45m plus sales but they’re doing it on hp mate.?
Allegedly only Β£20m down for Pepe and the rest over his contract. I doubt that WHU will either want to sell Diop or be prepared to offer those terms.
Diop would be a great signing though if they could pull it off. They have to sign defenders though particularly a Centre Back if they do they will be up there.

1st August 2019 at 8:45 pm #44238Nah good fight back by the Aussies brilliant innings by Smith. The Aussies looked in real trouble but Smith saved the day for thrm all to play for now although it’s advantage England but no 5th bowler if that’s how it works out will be a problem.
