Be good to see three teams fighting it out for the title.
Spurs are are heading in the right direction but still a long way away revenue wise from United if you look at the last revenue reports from both Club’s.
Spurs currently benefit from a very low wage bill I’m not sure how long the can maintain that and the Β£637m debt on the new Stadium is likely to impact on their spending as it did Arsenal despite the increased match day revenues but there are lots of positives for Spurs currently.

24th July 2019 at 8:24 am #43853Nobody seems to understand how much money that stadium is supposedly projected to make from non-Spud events… like the NFL, Rugby, Concerts, Boxing etc… which when combined with the no-where near a billion squid the click-baiters keep posing about, gives us a substantial revenue stream…
Anyway, I didn’t say matching, I said getting very close too… π

24th July 2019 at 11:19 am #43859The thing you’re all forgetting about the stadium costs (with regard to the FFP bullocks) is the stadium costs are spread (similar to transfers) and over the expected “life” of the stadium, so what ever the final cost is you can divide it by 50 years or possibly even more.
Of course, that’s FFP and not the banks!! π
But if it’s under your typical “mortgage for a home build” style of project, those costs are probably spread over 25 years or so…
I know you guys point to Arsenal etc… but I think you’ll find Levy learned a few tricks there and has possibly done things a little bit differently.
One way or another, it’s going to be really interesting to see the figures in a year or two!!

24th July 2019 at 11:38 am #43860Don’t understand the Alderweireld situation. I know he’s getting on a little and won’t have much sell on value but he’s still a quality, proven defender that could certainly improve the top teams. At 25m buy out, which I believe expires this Friday, he seems tailor made for Utd with their defensive flaws.
If I were Ed Woodward I’d be on that like a tramp on chips!

24th July 2019 at 11:58 am #43861Chucky, The cost of the Stadium falls outside the UEFA FFP rules.
I’m sure the Stadium will be used for other things and bring in some worthwhile extra revenues but the gap between Spurs and United revenue wise on the last reported figures was circa Β£250m and United are the King’s of commercial revenue and have an enormous worldwide fan base.
I wouldn’t bother about United and their revenues mate just focus on Spurs and what they can do and importantly they need to start winning trophies now.

24th July 2019 at 12:17 pm #43863If you say so Puppy, if you say so… (about the cash, totally agree about the shiney things, but when Spuds revenue hits the 450 million mark in about 18 months, remember this little chat! π )

24th July 2019 at 2:03 pm #43869That would put you circa level with Chelsea revenue in 2018 and still Β£140m behind United Chuckster.?
It’s the shiney things you need to focus on.

24th July 2019 at 2:57 pm #43873Crate of Monster bunch Spurs don’t hit that in 18 months they would have to add Β£170m to their revenue in 18 months.
Football Clubs are judged by what they win though not how much money they generate.

Absolutely right btw, pity other clubs just can’t get billionaire Russain owners and take the cheaters way to the top of the tree and win all the pots… they had to implement rules about that sort of thing for us minions!! π

24th July 2019 at 8:11 pm #43884What a waste of thread and life when nothing’s happening. Perhaps from an LFC POV, we go back down the route in swooping for a ‘Division 2’ player or otherwise, somebody from the Championship. Everything else is a daily occurrence of sheer mental pain and fatigue.

25th July 2019 at 9:15 am #43889He is rather jolly good me-thinks, used to think Eddie Howe was a bit of a shoe-in for next Spuds manager, but Bruno has to be second favorite at least in my book… (which is BEANO before you ask!)

25th July 2019 at 10:15 am #43890Espirito Santo is a very good Manager and has done really well at Wolves.
Next season might be a bit more taxing for both him and Wolves though.
Assuming Wolves come through their qualifying ties which I think they will the rigours of playing in the EL will test them as will playing Thursday and Sunday.

25th July 2019 at 10:21 am #43891“The agent of Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has reportedly flown to England in order to finalise a move to Manchester United.”
Seems that slowly but surely things are beginning to fall into place for United in the transfer market. If all the deals come off they will be challenging strongly for the top 4 imo.
Unfortunately!?
