Big rumours saying that’s why Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere missed big chunks of the season too in the past…

23rd July 2019 at 3:43 pm #43799The “Roy of The Rovers” and “Jumpers For Goalposts” side of me wants to think that top footballers, the proper ballers, not the Instagram gangsta wannabes who occasionally kick a ball about between commercial “concerns”, realize winning titles in the “One Team Leagues” doesn’t really count for as match as perhaps winning them in the slightly more “Wait, you mean there’s more than two tough games a year?” League… total bullocks I know, it’s whoever waves the biggest wedge that really gets their attention and shiny things are secondary…
I’m an old romantic at heart… 🙂

23rd July 2019 at 5:38 pm #43808Reiss Nelson offered to Palace on one year loan deal as part of Zaha bid “Nelson thrived last season on loan at Hoffenheim and had been expected to form part of Arsenal’s first team squad this term. The report claims Arsenal’s new bid is around £55m up front, as well as £10m further in add-ons. Palace are understood to have rejected the proposal as they want a far larger fee for Zaha and they also want any player coming the other way to move permanently.” The Metro

23rd July 2019 at 9:16 pm #43834Mav, Mbappe can play across all positions in a front three imo. A front three of Pulisic, Mbappe and Hudson Odoi sounds good to me.?

24th July 2019 at 6:17 am #43842Looking more and more likely Toby will be staying, I was more worried about him going than Wee Erik to be honest… still want a top draw RB to show up!

24th July 2019 at 7:25 am #43844its a pivotal season for you lads i think
at present things are about as good as they can be for you, the new stadium (finally in and playing) breaking transfer records and keeping hold of the big names…..but it all seems like it has come a few years to late, with Citys dominance and Pool chasing them hard it would take something magical to break on or both of them and if you dont (even if you dont choke in the last few weeks) then its likely to be another season of …meh!
unless you go hard (oo er missus) for one of the cups and build a s shelf in the new gaff to put it then whats really going to change?
that said it puts my own mob in an even worse place, but at least when we had a our period we were able to compete at the very top for a few seasons, do you think levy can take you that last step?_____________________________

24th July 2019 at 7:51 am #43846Thing is Buffy, I like to think we’ve been building slowly but surely, the new training ground, the new stadium, the squad etc.. in a very sustainable manner (not saying City & Pool haven’t, don’t follow them closely to compare notes!). Now the new stadium and it’s cashflow is kicking in I expect Spuds to be able to spunk a fair bit of cash over the next few years. There are projection sheets that now put our “income” very close to the same levels as UnYooUtd and it’s only going to go one way and that’s up.
I don’t think (nor want to be honest) we’re going to start paying the mega-mega-silly salaries, but I think we’ll be following the recent Pool model of buying 1st teamers rather than squad players now, unless something exceptional comes along of course…
But I would agree this season is a real litmus test, it we keep Wee Erik and Toby, get some better luck with injuries than we had last season, we’ll be up there, keeping those other two honest!
