17th July 2019 at 11:58 am #43499Henderson was very good when he was played in the right of fabhino in the 3 man midfield. Assisted some very good goals.
Keita was improving as season went on. Hopefully he steps up this season but heβs injured already.

17th July 2019 at 12:37 pm #43500I think with regard to Coutinho, like most transfers, it was a question of who was using who more between club and player. In an ideal world, what you want is both parties to use each other to the same extent, but if one side uses the other more, it usually ends badly. In this case Barcelona were clearly the more assertive party in the transfer (though one might also argue desperate) and went for him, and Coutinho simply felt when the opportunity arose, he couldnβt turn it down, so he went, without thinking more deeply about how/where heβd fit in exactly. Unless Liverpool could get him cheaply, thereβs not much point to the move as has been alluded to in the posts above. Interesting looking back at most Liverpool transfers in the Klopp era and almost all have been equally as assertive as the club was in their pursuit of them and have thus hit the ground running – apart from Keita it seems, who took almost a season to develop – again, he hasnβt appeared to be the most assertive player in that regard.

17th July 2019 at 2:30 pm #43502Leicester have plenty of money in the kitty, so bet for them to hold on to Maguire. Rodgers reported to have said no done deal.

17th July 2019 at 5:14 pm #43512Crazy signing by Arsenal imo they need to be spending on their defence not their attack especially given the Koschielny situation.
Allegedly Β£25m plus Β£11m inside ons for Soares.

17th July 2019 at 5:21 pm #43513Ye thatβs it nine. Looks like they are buying that centre back for 25m yet loaning him back for a year? Just makes no sense.
Spend the money on tierney. An excellent full back. But a centre back for here and now

17th July 2019 at 5:53 pm #43514Might make sense Sean if Arsenal are looking to cash in on Aubemayang by selling him to United which could generate the cash towards buying Zaha?

17th July 2019 at 6:57 pm #43517Just seen an article headline on the BBC Website about Emery and Arsenal wanting expensive players. This has prompted me with my own thoughts in thinking as ‘consensus’ dare I say, there’s very little evidence of any spending activity.
We must have been extremely lucky to have secured both Van Dijk and Allison from recent Transfers.
However, whether it’s a Winter or a Summer Window, it’s just not happening like it used to. If a handful of teams have a genuine intent to improve their squad, to me these days, I see a 5 year plan which should be the case, than a team able to bring in even half-a-dozen new bodies and add strength both to the squad and first 11.
It just seems glaring, there’s either a dearth of top quality or there’s just not enough to ‘decimate’.

17th July 2019 at 8:22 pm #43521“Arsenal should approach Arsene Wenger over a return to the club to help with getting key summer signings over the line, claims Gunners hero Charlie Nicholas.”
Never say never.?

17th July 2019 at 8:41 pm #43526Mav, who is likely to buy Ozil for any sort of sensible fee with his Β£35Ok pw salary. I think Arsenal may need Ethan Hunt not Arsene Wenger to fix it!?

Life aint budging anymore sadly. The Bubble at some point waiting to burst.
Pretty depressing experiencing it now comparison to experiencing it back then.

18th July 2019 at 5:57 am #43536AnonymousNo just my honest opinion Tripper was always very average I always watch top 6 games and some players are rated on the basis of a couple of good games but nothing much else. Even a mug has a couple of decent games now and again but a good player always plays well.

18th July 2019 at 6:21 am #43537its a strange signing as younall say, no idea how much money we dont have, seems we have more than the Β£40m quoted though we have sold a few (for naff all) but would clear the wage bill a bit (Welbeck,Ospina, Ramsey)…but as ive always said, i would spunk the whole lot on defence, id have tierny tied down already not this nonsesne haggling, pay what the club want get him in move on, i dont mind who we have bought, they certainly could be stars of the future and in a year or 2 this could be canny business (including loaning the CB back for a year) but its all very well planning for the future you still have to live and compete in the here and now! crazy days at arsenal!
