“Tottenham are ready to pinch William Saliba from under the noses of Arsenal, according to a report in France.
French outlet RMC claim that Spurs’ €30million offer for the young defender has surpassed the bid made by the Gunners.
The source claim that Saint-Etienne officials will meet on Saturday to discuss the offer and this latest news could well explain why Arsenal have not wrapped up a long-running deal for the 18-year-old.”
More bad news for Arsenal if this report is accurate?

12th July 2019 at 3:05 pm #43288“ROMA reportedly thrashed out personal terms with Toby Alderweireld’s agent yesterday as they close in on a move for the Tottenham man.
The 30-year-old defender has long been linked with a move away from North London with Manchester United thought to be leading the chase for his services.
Toby Alderweireld’s agent reportedly held talks with Roma yesterday to thrash out personal terms ahead of a transfer from Spurs
Toby Alderweireld’s agent reportedly held talks with Roma yesterday to thrash out personal terms ahead of a transfer from Spurs.
However, time is running out for those clubs interested in signing him for a cut-price fee.
Alderweireld, who only has a year remaining on his Spurs deal, is available for £25m until July 26 when a clause in his contract expires.
Despite being linked with United, Arsenal and Juventus, Roma are the only club to have expressed a firm interest in the centre-back.
And Calcio Mercato claim their new sporting director, Gianluca Petrachi, has already made him an offer to join the Serie A outfit.
Their report states the chief met with Alderweireld’s agent, Stijn Francis, yesterday.
And he has offered the Belgian an annual wage of £3.14m-a-year plus bonuses.”

12th July 2019 at 3:55 pm #43289Re Griezmann: Atletico claim the amount is not enough as it is “obvious” Barca struck a deal with the forward before his release clause dropped from €200m.
Griezmann’s release clause fell on July 1, but Atleti pointed towards the player’s confirmation he would leave the club on May 14 in a statement released shortly after Barcelona announced the move.
A club statement read: “Atletico de Madrid believes that the amount deposited is insufficient since it is obvious an agreement between the player and FC Barcelona was reached before the clause was reduced from 200 to 120 million euros. It was also prior to the date on which the clause was modified, with the player announcing his departure from the club on May 14.
“Atlético de Madrid believes that the termination of the contract occurred before the end of last season due to events, acts and demonstrations carried out by the player and that is why he has already started the procedures it considers appropriate for the defense of its legitimate rights and interests.”
Another one for CAS!?

12th July 2019 at 5:46 pm #43290I don’t get this Toby to Roma one at all. Less money than what’s he’s on now, less than half of what is on the table from Levy, and a drop from CL to EL… makes no sense at all…

12th July 2019 at 7:33 pm #43292AnonymousBarca have offered £100m for Virgil who? Van Dijk?… If they have, they’ve wasted their time. Van Dijk is priceless. We paid £75m for him before the world was so sure of his quality. He’s turned out better than any of us could have hoped and has got to be the best CB in the world now.
Liverpool wouldn’t sell him for £300m, never mind 100.

12th July 2019 at 7:45 pm #43293Thing is Micky there are rumours of an arrangement of sorts being agreed when Wee Phil was sold (not exactly for Virgil but something about future sales to Barca). No sign of Virgil wanting to go (why would he?) but if he did, it won’t be for market value (as bonkers as the current market is!).

12th July 2019 at 10:23 pm #43297If Barca fancy playing the old Monopoly in landing Mayfair, Liverpool I’m sure would gladly place 300 on Van Dijk lol 😀

13th July 2019 at 10:08 am #43302Sean, Juve probably can’t afford to buy Pogba without its a player exchange deal and his wages will be silly and Real have already spent a lot and would have to do a player exchange deal too or bring some big money and who can United get to replace them. It’s a very difficult transfer market currently with not much value or quality around.

13th July 2019 at 10:18 am #43304AnonymousOur clause with Barca for future sales wasn’t to get other players for cut price from us, it was an agreement that they wouldn’t sign anyone else from us for a time (18 – 24 months or so, I think). Liverpool don’t like Barca and how they do business. There’s no chance we’d agree to screw ourselves over in the future, especially since we had them over a barrel with Coutinho. 4th bid of theirs that we accepted.
Obviously though, Barca and Real are still powerhouses and sometimes there’s little you can do to stop a player eventually joining them. It is nice to see our own power grow though and for these things to kinda be on our terms now. Of course, with Klopp and everything else going on right now, who would wanna join them, as you say? Some of the latin players perhaps. Coutinho got his way and I think he’s put the fear into anyone else who might have been harbouring such thoughts.
There were rumours that Mane was to be next out the door. He’s still here and I’d bet that along with Phil’s “dream” (nightmare), the CL win has firmly put those thoughts (if they ever existed) to bed.

13th July 2019 at 10:20 am #43305AnonymousNine, kinda funny to hear Utd want £90m for Lukaku. It seems that clubs these days think that because they grossly over-paid that the next mark will also.
Look, he’s a good player but come on… He’s maybe worth £40m.

13th July 2019 at 12:14 pm #43308I absolutely deplore Neymar. He’s everything that is wrong with the game.
Utd are well entitled to hold out and get what they wNt for the players
In the old days if a player wasn’t a success at a club his price usually shit down
Pogba and lackau have been good enough to command the fees it’s are looking for

13th July 2019 at 12:22 pm #43309Sean, very true and let’s not forget Ole seemingly wants to hang on to both Lukaku and Pogba which is probably reflected in these inflated alleged prices.
