3rd July 2019 at 9:40 pm #42975We have Rodri as a defensive midfield, resigned Angelo as left back cover. Now to complete we need another CB to replace Kompany and thats it I think?
Maguire is not worth 70m+. Thats stupid. Utd can spend more money they dont have if they wish.
Increase their debt…why not!_____________________________

4th July 2019 at 10:15 am #42994Just seen an opinion column asking if frank to Chelsea is a bad move or a really bad move.
Canβt see him making it past Christmas unless the club has a change in philosophy, and give him time to build.

4th July 2019 at 1:04 pm #43014Super Frankie Lampard.?
It’s got a good chance of working imo as long as he’s given time which is allegedly part of the agreement with Roman.
One thing’s for sure he and Jody will feel the love at the Bridge.
Anything above half way this season taking into account the circumstances and attempting to introduce some of our brightest youngsters is ok with me and seemingly the majority of Chelsea fans too. Anything above that is a bonus.

4th July 2019 at 1:13 pm #43016Chelsea have the squad to challenge for top 4 in my opinion.
They have signed two players and one is a replacement for hazard.
Not sure why Chelsea fans are setting their sights low?
They have some fantastic players.
You would swear the whole squad was pulled apart and they had nothing but youngsters to play.
Be interesting to see how many of these young players really get a chance and if they do can they make it in the pl. huge jump to the pl
I like Lampard. He needs time which he deserves. Really interesting to see how he gets on. Chelsea legend and very exciting for Chelsea fans who will give him his full backing no matter what happens

4th July 2019 at 1:16 pm #43017“The fans adore Frank. Heβs going to need time because there is going to be a lot of changes next season, in terms of you canβt bring in a big name star after losing Eden Hazard,β
βYou have to be patient and I think everyone will be because itβs Frank Lampard. Someone like Frank knows the game, I think it is the right time and I think the players will respect him. Patience will be the key.β
Probably the perfect summary by Jamie Redknapp

4th July 2019 at 1:56 pm #43021An appointment made due to circumstances along with a load of hope and idealism. Thus if it does work out, it will be more by accident rather than because of some grand strategy a long time in the making. But accidents can happen!
Apparently Lampard is the βunityβ candidate who will bring the club together. However, a key area that will face Lampard is whether he will have the conviction and be given the authority to freeze out players he doesnβt like or is unsure of?? (particularly when he canβt make signings). In that sense there is no such thing as a βunityβ candidate – any manager is going to have to upset people at some point, particularly after any honeymoon period. Be interesting watching it play out.

4th July 2019 at 2:48 pm #43026Mikus, how many Managers are appointed as part of a grand strategy a long time in the making I can’t think of too many.?
If you know anything about Frank you will know he’s his own man I don’t think there’s any freezing out to be done but he will select who he wants to play and the way he wants to play for sure.
Of course it’s a risk appointing any Manager is a risk let alone one with one seasons experience but it is a risk everyone related to Chelsea accepts and there’s an overall view that given all the circumstances it’s a risk worth taking.
As always though time will be the judge.
