Besides, 70mil isn’t going to cut it anyway. It’ll need to be closer to 90mil to get it done and that’s just crazy

3rd July 2019 at 7:03 am #42940Ed, Chelsea have a buy back clause on Ake of £40m which of course they currently can’t activate so I guess the bidding would start at £40m for him. City despite their previous spending have proved in the past that they won’t pay beyond their maximum valuation for a player.
Fees started to go really crazy with the sales of Mbappe and Neymar and there is a surfeit of good Centre Backs which pushes the prices up still further plus Leicester don’t want to sell him either which again inflates the fee.

3rd July 2019 at 7:52 am #42946HH this is very true, but lets be honest, there a only a few trophies on offer and a whole load of teams, and most of them are run better than our club IMHO…
until we make some real changes, either (preferably) at owner level and a fenuine club structure then we would struggle anyway, we could spend £200m and still be 6th or worse in the PL and facing dissapointing games, at least with real young hungry players stepping up we might surprise a few and unearth some real gems……
trying to look on the bright side mate 😉
we wont be challenging for the PL anytime soon so why not?!

3rd July 2019 at 7:58 am #42949I can see your point, but you want to feel your club has at least some ambition. You’ve got arguably one of the better managers around, you’ve got 2 of the better strikers in the Prem, and a sprinkling of some decent younger players as well…you can’t be that far away surely. The danger is with this lack of ambition is that you lose what quality you do have at the club, as they will bugger off to clubs where they feel they have a chance of winning something.

3rd July 2019 at 8:00 am #42950Still think we’re going to land that Argie bargie lad from Spain too, to replace Wee Erik. Not sure about the Toby to Roma rumors (as part-x for that other attacking lad), can’t see Roma paying the wedge he is apparently after or Toby wanting to play Europa either… don’t see any legs in that one.
I reckon the twins from Fulham, and the De Ceso chap, and that’s about it for Spuds. Possibly another CB if Toby scarppers…

3rd July 2019 at 10:42 am #42953Buffy-Spending/not spending money does not equal to having/not having ambitions, just look @ us! We waste money left, right, and centre, and still finish behin you.Got to spend it wisely, and you are right-much better to have hungry and young players than viruses like Pogba,Sanchez,Shaw,JLingz,Ozil, etc.

3rd July 2019 at 1:31 pm #42959Just finished watching the Brazil/Argie match from last night, what a bunch of primadonnas all 22 of them, can’t recall a match with so much cheating/diving/whining and general shittery from both sides. Quite frankly it was pathetic from both sides.

3rd July 2019 at 2:13 pm #42960Buffy-Not what I was trying to say vampire slayer. We have mentioned this story so many times, its how you spend it.On top of all that,it could be a good strategy by Arse,to make sure you dont tell the worls you got billions to spend & then get charged astronomical prices.
