14th June 2019 at 10:01 am #42557Chucky, maybe maybe not but didn’t you say similar last season yet there were 2 Cup Finals , third place in the PL and another trophy to put in the trophy cabinet.?
Whoever is appointed to any Club it’s a risk but given the fact the transfer ban looks like it might stick Frank and Jody are an interesting option.
We’ve tried all the names and realistically who else is there who immediately jumps out maybe it’s time to give two of our own a go and given the circumstances they’ve got a great knowledge of the Club and all the young players both in the Academy and out on loan.
After all it’s worked for United.?

14th June 2019 at 10:05 am #42558Daniel about to shake off the moths and get his wallet out?
If Spurs buy players of the calibre suggested and can hold on to what they’ve got I can see them maybe getting themselves up there alongside the likes of City and Liverpool in the title race this season.

14th June 2019 at 10:19 am #42559“La Gazzetta dello Sport | Mario Pasalic have signed for Atalanta from #Chelsea for €15M. #CFC”
Marina strikes again that’s over £20m for Pasalic and Aina almost all at profit to be added to the Hazard fee for when we can spend again.

14th June 2019 at 10:25 am #42560Puppy, joking aside, it’s too bigger a job far too soon for him, and then chuck in the factor of losing your best player and the transfer ban (still in effect, I think?), and both LRC and H-O suffering from long term injuries…
I’ll say it now, if you lot get Top 4 next year, then Frank should be getting 2nd best manager of the year award… (obviously Kloop gets #1 🙂 )

14th June 2019 at 10:26 am #42561As for Danny-boy and the mysterious lost wallet of Atlantis, I’ll believe it when I see them kissing the shirt and telling the world it was always a dream to play for Spuds… 🙂

14th June 2019 at 12:04 pm #42566Chucky, tbh I think you’re probably right and whilst I think we’ll have enough to challenge for a top 4 place under Frank and Jody we will more likely end up in the top 6 that’s not the end of the world and we’re not in a position to challenge City and Liverpool currently whilst Spurs might be
Personally given all the circumstances I think it’s a good time to press the reset at Chelsea and it’s about laying down the foundations for the future at Chelsea as Rio said have had the best Academy for a while now it’s time to give some of these great young players a chance the likes of Reece James, Tomori, Mount, Ampadu, Loftus Cheek, Hudson Odoi and Abraham can be played this season alongside Pulisic and next Summer when the bans over added too with a considerable transfer budget to spend.
It might well be a rocky ride but ultimately it might be more worthwhile.

14th June 2019 at 12:12 pm #42571I never think that far ahead (in footballing terms)… only takes 22 seconds for the best laid plans to go up in smoke… 🙂

14th June 2019 at 2:51 pm #42596Just the next signing they want Mav. Can’t see it happening though unless Real make some big unloads.
Only the likes of Real and Barca get that many fans into an unveiling of new signings. I wonder if it’s free or they have to pay to get in?
First instalment? ?

14th June 2019 at 3:13 pm #42599Hey, I think Basingstoke Peggy has been rather restrained… but then Rabbit likes things restrained…
Anyway, never understood that whole 50,000 people to great a signing thing, I guess they have no jobs or something… but it is going to be interesting how they deal with the FFP rules… they have to be in trouble unless there are some sales soon…

14th June 2019 at 3:22 pm #42602Not sure Chucky whilst Real might be getting close to impacting on the FFP rules they’ve been a bit frugal over the last few seasons and they got a lot of money for Ronaldo last season too
Also the fees are amortised over the length of the conteact so Hazard even at top whack wouod only cost them £26m this season whilst the Ronaldo fee with his contract long ago amortised would have given them pure profit last season.
Buying Mbappe though on top of who they’ve already bought would probably require sales out and whilst they seem desperate to shed Bale nobody will seemingly but him given his salary levels at Real.

16th June 2019 at 11:01 am #42630Anonymous9, I reckon a reset at Chelsea will pay off big time you have the youngsters there it’s all about letting them loose. It’s would be an exciting time for FL at The Bridge and why not top 4 I’d have a few quid on that happening.
