Be driving through France on Thursday so I won’t have to suffer the Real unveiling of Hazard.
I wish him the very best though and I will trying to watch as many Real games as I can next season to get my Hazard fix.?

10th June 2019 at 6:23 pm #42335TBA, whilst leaving it late may give you a bargain, it also gives you what’s left which isn’t necessarily what you want….Pagan

10th June 2019 at 6:35 pm #42336He’s not in the betting and I know he’s not everyone’s cup of tea but with Sarri due to join Juve within the next 24 hours Chelsea could do a lot worse than appoint Rafa and he’s not tied to any lengthy contract either.

11th June 2019 at 4:03 am #42338AnonymousI haven’t seen much of De Ligt either but my whole argument is based on Gomez’s ability. I think he’s massively under-rated because Van Dijk was taking all the credit and also his injury casts a dark shadow on things.
Could it be that De Ligt is better than Gomez, sure but he can’t be much better. I’d even warn people that it might be the other way around. Either way, I don’t see the value and think we could either save or spend the money somewhere else. Who knows, maybe next summer we’ll need to spend £150m on one player? You never know, well.. we’ll need to have that money to spend it.
I say we don’t spend for the sake of it and don’t replace Gomez unless his injury problems are worse than simple bad luck.
As for Fekir, Nine, I thought the same regards £15m sounding very low. If I had tried to come up with a price it would be more like £25, or 30m.

11th June 2019 at 6:55 am #42339N17, in all honesty mate, no, as you can see from the link its just some click bait, though much of what the message says is true. In these dark days between seasons when no one is yet buying anyone (in the PL) it just helps keep the pages going!
My views on your mob are and i have said it before, scarily like us when we moved to the Emirates. We had a good team and we went on to win a few things but got complacent, kept a manager to long who had all the power and buy the time we started to actually spend big money it was to late and done poorly after already selling our top stars year on year (worse to direct rivals like Man U and City)
where you are now is, you have a great little team when all fit and up for it, you need an injury freee Kane ALL season, keep your stars and invest wisely in a few key players and slowly develop the squad and 11…trouble is keeping those stars, they have won nothing for all they have given, they are being paid well less than many stars that are no wehere near as good as them let alone other top players and sometimes a change up is required both for them and the club….
who you lose (if any) how much Levy can get for them (he is very good in this part) and how much money is reinvested and in to who will define not only this coming season but likely the next 5….if done very well you could be set to do what liverpool have done since Klopp arrived or it could be disastorous and not work out and leave you struggling on all fronts with an increased wage bill and harder to move players on, all the time Poch star will be dimming…..id honetly like to wish you the best, but i cant 😉
as for De Ligt, he is likely worth the attention and money just due to the dearth of talent especially at CB and all the teams needing to rebuild or improve, he is young and will get better, bu who ever gets him doesnt have the finished article and he will make mistakes, he is not in VVD level as yet but time will get him there….for him PSG would be a great move at this time, less pressure in a one club league, paid loads and move to Barca in 2-3 years when he will still only be 24 and be better stronger and more mature and ready for the “star” label and performances….
Fekir, strange one after last summer, he looked like a steal bar his injury but less is being made of him now? bit like Lemar (remember him) he was touted for us and a few others for BIG money but havent heard of him since….id prefer Pepe myself

11th June 2019 at 7:40 am #42341is he worth the reported amount though?
he is solid for the most part but is he at say VVD level?
certainly better than anything united have but not at the amount quoted…as for city im sure they can get much better for much cheaper, they have already got stones who if anything has gone backwards, surely he should be “coming through” now ready to step up and be what they paid for him?untied will have to spend big, i have no doubt they will, though i doubt it will be spent wisely, no idea why they are so insistent on keeping pogba either, id cash while they have serious offers!

11th June 2019 at 7:51 am #42343Mak, agree with you on the Fekir price if it was £50/60m last season with two years left it should be circa £25/30m this season with a year left. I’m sure he will go go to someone this Summer if he doesn’t sign a new contract with Lyon but I doubt it will be for a reported price of 15m Euros.
On De ligt I’m not sure Liverpool are in the running anyway it seems to be between PSG and Barca, PSG offers the money and guaranteed trophies whilst Barcelona offers the cachet and preety much guaranteed trophies difficult decision for the boy if I was him I would go with my mate De Jong to Barca but maybe that’s the Catalan influence in me.?
As you say Liverpool have Gomez and Klopp won’t invest where he doesn’t think it’s necessary he’s too wise for that and knows Liverpool’s transfer funds have to be put to best use. Cheers 999

11th June 2019 at 12:29 pm #42346AnonymousExactly it Nine. Assuming Gomez has recovered, we can leave the teams who need a CB to fight in the bidding war. I’m very thankful that both Klopp and edwards are sensible and avoid staring licking the candy store windows. There will be better opportunities in this or a future transfer window.
I do hope we buy someone but not in defence, unless backup.

11th June 2019 at 1:08 pm #42347Rumours of Rafa to Chelsea growing?
He wouldn’t be everyone’s choice at the Bridge but he looks a good candidate to me taking all circumstances into account.
But would Roman really be prepared to take another chance on a potentially less than popular Manager given the previous Sarri situation.

11th June 2019 at 1:18 pm #42348Rafa has become quite a pragmatic manager too, so will be more prepared to work with what he has. Would Allegri be as flexible or would he demand certain players (that Chelsea can’t currently sign?). Or would he dare risk Lampard? Lots to ponder for Roman, but Rafa seems the logical and safer choice, if albeit an unpopular one.

11th June 2019 at 4:05 pm #42351Lampard, that’s a topic on its own, is Lampard the manager at Derby or the figurehead? Jody Morris has the experience and the inside track on the Chelsea youth, and it is possibly no coincidence that both Tomori and Mount were the two players Derby fans have been raving about. Tomori was ever present and Derby’s blip coincided with Mount’s injury.
Whilst I personally believe that it’s at least a season too early for Lampard and Morris to go to Chelsea it would be prudent to make sure someone involved in the youth setup is prominent in the next managerial setup if the transfer ban stands. Not sure who that may be but Eddie Newton has been involved for a number of years and may have the same knowledge of what’s coming through as Morris……Pagan

11th June 2019 at 4:48 pm #42355Pagan, Eddie Newton is responsible for all of the loan players I’m sure his input would be very beneficial as to who should comeback to the Club to perhaps he appraised pre season by whoever the Manager may be. Flo is involved in that area too. Cheers 999
