Getting there Sean we probably need a Keeper if Courtois won’t sign a new contract but Kante and Hazard have seasons on their contracts and hopefully the Sarri/Jorginho signings plus one or two others convince them to stay and we can reclaim our CL place.
A no 10 for Liverpool and a new Keeper and you’re set to challenge City imo for the title.

14th July 2018 at 10:30 am #24025Sean, just seen your Patrick Roberts question. Unfortunately I haven’t seen much of him. But by the little I’ve seen he looked decent. He went on loan to Celtic a couple of seasons back in Jan just after KDB got injured. Which I thought was a missed opportunity to give him some playing time in the PL. Hard to judge a player in the SPL as there are so many very poor teams. Could be very good but clearly not rated by Pep. So hey ho.

Manchester City are unlikely to do business with Napoli again after they pulled out of an agreement for midfielder Jorginho, sources have told ESPN FC.The Italy international was a top target for Pep Guardiola but has now joined Chelsea on a five-year deal worth around €60 million.
City believe that Jorginho, 26, preferred a switch to the Premier League champions despite claims from Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis that he would rather move to London.
As recently as Thursday, Jorginho told City that he preferred to join them, but sources told ESPN FC he was “bullied” into a move to Chelsea with the threat of being forced to see out the remaining two years of his contract with Napoli.
A £43m transfer fee was agreed between De Laurentiis and City last month, but Napoli reneged on that deal, leaving club hierarchy stunned.
Chelsea have since sacked manager Antonio Conte and appointed former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri, with Jorginho becoming his first signing.
City refused to match Chelsea’s offer and walked away from the deal just as they refused to match demands they saw as excessive during the January transfer window, including deals for Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred — both of whom joined Manchester United.
Leicester City also wanted around £95 million for winger Riyad Mahrez in January, and City finally signed him last week in a deal for £60m.
Mahrez and Jorginho were City’s two top summer targets, and they now have less than a month to sign a replacement for Yaya Toure, who left on a free transfer at the end of the season.

14th July 2018 at 2:53 pm #24038Adlab, give it a rest you were outbid it happens even to City!
As the Editor posted the other day “Few begrudge City fans their success but that will very soon change if the fans start acting like spoilt brats.”
And players aren’t slaves they don’t go where they don’t want to be and judging by Jorginho’s quotes he’s delighted to be at Chelsea! Get over it mate.
“Is there more to say. Perhaps one word?” I would have said perhsps two words ” Done deal”!?

14th July 2018 at 3:30 pm #24048Aren’t Chelsea the most successful side in the country over the last decade? No way he’s been “bullied” to go to Chelsea. Massive move for him and good deal for Chelsea, too.

14th July 2018 at 4:39 pm #24061Mav, I think Courtois will probably go as he only has one year left on his contract and is anxious to get back to his kids in Madrid whilsf Hazard has two years left and Kante three.
The signing of Sarri and the type of football he plays and the signing of Jorginho might help towards them staying plus the signings of one or two others but if all three were all sold it would generate massive transfer funds and there would probably be a requirement for some sort of player exchange deal from Real.
Time will tell.
