It’s a hell of a lot of money but they’re not only buying an incredible player, nor are they buying a ton of shirt sales. This instantly propels Juventus back to the top table, regardless of Ronaldo’s age. They’re a big player again, in the blink of an eye. Kids everywhere will be wearing Juve shirts. That’s worth more for the club long term than the sales themselves. I know football is about what happens on the pitch. But this is worth every single penny off it.

Ed, spot on. One of my kids is a football crazy 9 year old boy. When I told him today that Ronaldo had signed for Ju e, his first reaction was literally that he wanted a Juve shirt with Ronaldo’s name on it for his birthday.
He’s probably not the only kid around to say that.

Mav, Kasper Schmeichel is definitly good enough for almost all clubs. He is excellent. The level just below De Gea, Courtois, Neuer, Loris and Buffon.

You can have Sarri and Jorginho. Two faced tw.ts. Giving your word and then saying wanting to live in London is the reason. Its money pure and simple. I am old school. You give your word when you decide. These things have a habit of coming back to bite. Example? Greedy Sanchez.
Ihope we never do that. Better walk away. There are plenty of players who would love to play for City.

Having spent most of my working life in London even if you are wealthy its a hole. Dirty, full of people that dont speak English, you can walk quicker than the traffic, you get robbed by thugs on mopeds, everybody is trying to do you. More if you like.
At least have the guts to say I am going to be paid more and its part of the Sarri deal.

Adlab, Pep is very complimentary about Sarri and a lot of the European/Continental players favour London even the Queen lives there. ?

Whatever Chelsea are paying Jorginho assuming it happens City could have matched or beaten so I doubt it’s just all about money and suspect living in London and playing for Sarri played it’s part.

Here’s what De Laurentis actually said: “We said to ourselves if Jorginho has any requests, we’ll take them into account,”

“I accepted Manchester City’s offer 15 days ago but I have to apologise to them.

“I can understand if the player prefers to live in London than in Manchester, and if Chelsea pay him more I can understand that too.”

It’s never a done deal until the player signs on the dotted line and Jorginho as far as I’m aware hasn’t signed anything yet plenty fish in the sea mate.

And let’s be honest both City’s success and Chelsea’s success has been built on money so we’re both living in glass houses and it’s best not to throw stones in those circumstances.?

Adlab, you really need to stop believing that everyone only wants to play for City and if they don’t, it can only be because of money. Few begrudge City fans their success but that will very soon change if the fans start acting like spoilt brats. When Utd were at their peak, players turned us down all the time. Players turn down Madrid and Barca. It’s not unfathomable that they might just prefer to play for someone other than City mate.
