Ye nine. I always thought we would as feed to high for keepers. No fan of Alison’s and 60m is a crazy fee for him. Klopp always gives players a few chances
It’s good for Karius but not good for us. The lad had one more chance. Massive risk but I’m not suprised

6th July 2018 at 8:29 am #23629Sean, if Karius sheds the mistakes and is not mentally scarred by the CL Final then it might work out.
I know there’s been much discussion on the Liverpool site that the mistakes in the CL Final were down to concussion but Karius has made similar mistakes in previous games to that.
Not signing a top Keeper to replace Karius could define Liverpool’s season especially as this is a season where many expect Liverpool to kick on and challenge City and perhaps United for the title but on the other hand if Karius works out Klopp will be hailed as a genius. Time will tell mate. Cheers 999

6th July 2018 at 9:00 am #23631Anonymoussean – whilst i think karius needs replacing as a huge priority i dont think allison is the man. i had never heard of him before liverpool were linked and watching him in the world cup i haven’t been impressed. it might cut out some of the mistakes but he will definitely make his own ones. i dont really know what keepers are out there and available but there has to be better tan karius and allison.

7th July 2018 at 9:26 am #23675Fair points lads
Nine I don’t buy that concussion story at all. It’s a bit embarrassing as Karius has always been dodgy.
It’s a risk but I think he will be 1st choice.
We need another centre back
A number ten and we badly need a quality fir add who can play anywhere in the front 3._____________________________

7th July 2018 at 12:22 pm #23676Sean – I’m told by my source that the Fekir deal is still very much on the cards…to be completed after the World Cup

7th July 2018 at 12:34 pm #23677Sean, I think Klopp is a great Manager but he can imo sometimes be a bit “bloody minded”. I thought he should have bought a quality Keeper last Summer and even more so this.
I don’t think Liverpool are far away from being a very credible PL title contender maybe Karius will reward Klopp’s faith in him but I don’t buy the concussion story because Kariuss made similar mistakes v Sunderland and Roma and made a great save between his two boo boo’s in the CL Final.
Time will tell mate hopefully it works out for Karius but it won’t be easy for him at opposition grounds. Cheers 999

9th July 2018 at 2:53 pm #23762Anonymousso wilshere to west ham been confirmed. good move all round. think west ham is around his level. not surprised that no big teams came in for him. if he can stay fit it could be a great signing.

Jim, what do you think of Patrick roberts? I really like him. Bit like Mahrez but Mahrez is much better st the monent. He be a very good signing for Leicester for 10m

9th July 2018 at 5:22 pm #23769Nine, I don’t expect us to win anything next season with Karius in goal and because we just can’t get over the fibish line.
Last few years we have lost 4 finals and threw the league away. Klopp has lost 6 finals in a row.we will challenge for too 4. That’s it
Hightown, hope your right about Fekir but can’t see it happening after the total fiasco with his transfer a few weeks sgo

9th July 2018 at 8:26 pm #23773It’s all over the Danish media that Barcelona are interested in signing FC Copenhagen’s Sweden keeper Robin Olsen as their backup. That would probably make Jasper Cillessen available. Surely he is much too good to be a reserve at Barcelona, but would he be good enough to be first choice at Liverpool, should they feel the need to replace Karius? After all, he has about 40 caps for the Netherlands. And at 29-30 Cillessen surely wouldn’t be happy to stay second choice after Ter Stegen?

9th July 2018 at 8:32 pm #23774Sean, Liverpool are very close to a real PL title challenge but they still need two or three signings one of which is a top Keeper imo.
Almost two thirds on the transfer window gone now and only just over 4 weeks to go do I suspect we’re about to see a lot for scrambling around now for the World Cup players.
Chelsea have signed no one yet and seemingly still don’t know who will be Manager next season so Liverpool are doing much better than us!?

9th July 2018 at 9:03 pm #23776Srd, I’d rather stick with Karius then Cillessen mate. I think he’s terrible but that’s just my opinion

9th July 2018 at 9:13 pm #23777Sean, to be honest I haven’t seen much of Cillessen (who has since he signed for Barcelona?), it was just a thought. I just can’t imagine Klopp and Liverpool being happy to stick with Karius. It must be pretty nerve wracking for the ten others to have that guy standing back there in goal.

10th July 2018 at 10:59 am #23790srd79-Liverpool have been linked with Cillessen,Trapp of PSG,and Strakosha of Lacio recently. They are all much, much better than Karius and Mignolet! Klopp can simply not afford to start the season with them 2 still @ the club!

10th July 2018 at 7:15 pm #23801£105m and a 4 year contract for a player who will be 34 in February. As good as Ronaldo still is that’s an awful lot for money but shirt sales and marketing kick backs will help. But as good as he still is can Ronaldo still be doing it in 3/4 years?
Market beginning to speed up now Seri to Fulham too.

10th July 2018 at 7:20 pm #23803To be fair to RonnyII, if there’s one player who could still be doing it at 37 it would be him, perfect professional when it comes to that side of the game… (be bloody hilarious mind you, if RonnyII went all RonnyI when he retires!)
