I can’t believe United’s scatter gun approach to this window Sean. Jose won’t be a happy chappie.

9th August 2018 at 8:18 pm #250993×9-Im really happy we stayed away from Willian,Bale,Boateng,Toby,Maguire,Mina,Godin,CR7,and any other has-beens this window.I`m still hoping the likes of Darmian and Mata might leave for Europe, but the window has been a shambles and we just have to get on with what we have.Cannot see Jose lasting the season,so it might turn-out to be a good thing after all.

9th August 2018 at 8:25 pm #25102AnonymousJust after the window closed I was talking to a Spurs mate I’ve known for 40 years and what he said sort of made sense. Our first X1 is very good and to buy a player better would take us into the £70/80m+ bracket, which will never happen.
I suppose it could have been worse, at least no Spurs player ended up at a rivals club._____________________________

9th August 2018 at 8:36 pm #25104Bricky, problem is mate if you don’t look to push forwards you go backwards which is the summary of Chelsea’s season last season.
On the plus side one to eleven Spurs are still a very good team but they are going from challenging for the title in 2015/16 and 2016/17 to competing for a top 4 spot in 2018/19 which ultimately might not sit well with some of Spurs star players.
Not easy though to build a fantastic new Stadium and invest strongly in the team as Arsenal can verify. Cheers 999

9th August 2018 at 8:42 pm #25105Nine actually I take that back. If those players perform for Everton then they have done really well

9th August 2018 at 8:44 pm #25106Bricks, spurs have a powerful starting 11 and can beat anyone. What positions do you think they need filled or is it more backup players?

9th August 2018 at 8:51 pm #25107AnonymousBricky and Chucky – you are both right. Improving the first XI would be very difficult and expensive. However our squad could be added to quite easily. Had levy bid 25m for grealish a few weeks ago we would’ve got him. There are plenty of players we could’ve got. Our midfield this season is just so poor. Dier and Wanyama are good enough. Dembele can’t play 60 minutes and lets be honest is creatively impotent. Winks still has a lot to prove and been out injured for a long time. No back up for eriksen or Kane. Basically any injuries and we’re fucked! Levy has royally fucked it this season and I’m predicting a highest possible finish of 6th. Then we’ll lose eriksrn alli and Kane and before you know it, we’re basically West Ham!

9th August 2018 at 8:59 pm #25108AnonymousSpurs watch out that Everton don’t pip you for that 6th place.

9th August 2018 at 9:23 pm #25109Well, we’ll find out soon enough, I’m plumping for too many changes at Chelsea and Goonies, maybe strong 2nd halves to the season but they’ll be too far back, Everton will be incredibly hot and cold all season, YooUtd will start strong but will basically implode (around November!)… I’m going to go for a repeat and have us Spuds finishing 3rd…

9th August 2018 at 9:32 pm #25110Sean, Everton have bought in a lot of players and Silva is an interesting Manager if they can sort out their best eleven they will be pushing for a EL place at least imo.

9th August 2018 at 9:33 pm #25111I really like Dembele. Might run out of steam towards the end of games but one of the best midfielders in the pl for me
Spurs will finish top 4.

9th August 2018 at 9:52 pm #25112I agree Sean 1 to 3 it looks like City, Liverpool and United not necessarily in that order with Spurs favourites after those three to claim a top 4 spot.
No signings by Spurs but one to eleven Spurs are still a very good team and Pochettino is a very good Manager. Chelsea will be there or there abouts imo but may have to rely on trying to win the Europa League to reclaim a top 4 place.

9th August 2018 at 10:07 pm #25114I think the title will be won by team consistency and not who beats who on a certain day On that basis I hope City will show the same consistency week in and out, OK, we will not go unbeaten because I think there will be stronger teams now but unless they can produce that consistency instead of thinking if we beat City we have won the league it will not happen for them The question then is can City of last season raise there game to combat the new threats. An exciiting season is upon us guys

10th August 2018 at 7:44 am #25115All in all, have to give the Spuds a D- for this window. Getting nobody in was a little underwhelming, but then again, nobody has left either. I guess this season all comes down injuries. Stay fit relatively fit and I see no reason why we shouldn’t keep a TOP 4 spot….

10th August 2018 at 8:58 am #25118The only team I can ever remember that got through a season injury free was Leicester when they won the league.
ALL teams get injuries. Its about the squad not the first eleven!_____________________________

10th August 2018 at 9:00 am #25119Anonymousand the less you can rest players because there’s no back up, the more likely they are to get injured!

10th August 2018 at 9:41 am #25120Paxo… look at the time I posted on the other page… don’t think that 18 is too shabby, and I hadn’t included the likes of Disco, Granddad or even Wierdy Beardy… maybe not the strongest bench in the league, but the likes of Moura, Toby, Lamela, Vicky, Dinksy-Winksy to fall back and/or rotate… don’t think it’s as bad as you’re making out.
I guess time will tell…
