Sean, if they can show in a medical that Ings’ injuries were “flukes” or basically extremely unlikely to happen again then that would show Ings not as a failed or banjaxed striker but one with unearthed potential. The prices are massively inflated ATM also, so you never know. I thought £24m sounded high also. Was thinking we’d be lucky to get 20 but FSG will know the current market better than anyone.

Really happy with our business so far, if we can get really good money for the players that we know are leaving (with no surprises please) then this could be the best transfer window that I’ve ever seen as a Liverpool supporter. Ya, that’s putting a lot of expectation on it but that’s what happens when you spend a lot to get the best.

I won’t forget a time, not completely unlike this (although on a different scale) when FSG first bought the club and spent a lot of money on Downing, Aquilani and others. . .

I’d be gutted if we spent that on Maguire. Ridiculous fee for an average defender. I’d much rather we got Boateng in from Bayern who we’ve been linked with for a while, too.

Mak, all the deals I’ve read about re Ings of those clubs that are interested they all want an injury clause included. If Liverpool get £20m or above for Ings whoever negotiates the deal should be knighted.?

Most likely a loan deal imo.

I think there’s every chance of Loftus Cheek going back to Palace on loan as Sarri has already indicated he’s looking to bring someone else a bit different into the midfield area and RLC wasn’t in the squad v City ultimately though a loan move might depend on who Chelsea can bring in.

Looks like Chelsea have moved for Butland?

Difficult to see how Courtois has put in a transfer request Mav if allegedly he didn’t turn up to Cobham. He should be made to put in a transfer request though, bring in a replacement and get rid asap imo.
