Ye it was remy ed
We have a history of kissing clubs off but by reports this morning, it seems there are issues with the knee and we walked away.
Lyon president is notorious to deal with.
It’s a mess though. How can it go as far as him being pictured in an lfc shirt?
This is typical of our luck really. Some transfers are a real saga with us
Not sure we go for now as Fekir could play 4 positions. When everyone was getting carried of course I didn’t lol. It’s never done with us until the club release it.

10th June 2018 at 8:34 am #22709Seen this before. John Harrison failed a medical at rangers and signed for Celtic a few days later and had huge success there

10th June 2018 at 9:41 am #22710I haven’t really followed it Sean but I read this in the BBC gossip column this morning which suggests it was Liverpool trying to get him on a reduced fee. Never know what to believe with these kind of things though. Might turn out to be a smart move if he has injury problems

10th June 2018 at 4:06 pm #22712The Ed seemingly has it spot on Liverpool tried to renegotiate the Fekir fee based on concerns about a knee injury from three seasons ago with his knee flaring up on occasions since then and he missed some games this season through knee problems although he still managed 40 appearances. Allegedly Fakir passed the Liverpool medical.
I wouldn’t say the deal is completely dead in the water because Liverpool could still agree to pay the fee negotiated with Lyon or pay a lesser fee with add ons based on games played taking it up to the original fee although I suspect Lyon don’t buy that.
He’s a very good player at almost a third of the cost of Coutinho so it might be worth Liverpool taking a chance.

11th June 2018 at 8:01 am #22713Well all Liverpool reliable sources
Chris basacombe, Rory smith, David maddock and a load more are saying, we walked away and didn’t try to renegotiate
Doesn’t change anything. We any release a statement as medical results cannot be released
Fekir had a procedure done on his knee in March. I fully expect a club to take s chance on him though
We move on and look at other targets.

11th June 2018 at 12:12 pm #22715He’s a class player. Would have fitted in perfectly for Liverpool
Can play number ten or anywhere in front 3. He would have been a great buy

11th June 2018 at 3:43 pm #22717Still might be Sean. Liverpool wanted to pay a reduced price because of the previous injury which was a belt and braces jjob which they might well rethink. Cheers 999

11th June 2018 at 7:37 pm #22720As I was saying nine. The stories of a smaller price have come from sources not close to Liverpool. Liverpool have denied they tried to renegotiate and walked away Friday
Melissa ready, Chris badacombe, Rory smith and other reliable contexts have said that.
Now, who really knows the real story mate.
I actually don’t blame the club on this. I really don’t think we will go back for him but you could be right. I still think someone else will sign him. He had a knee procedure in March but he’s played 87 games since his big injury.

12th June 2018 at 12:38 am #22722AnonymousI don’t know a lot about Fekir, I guess it’s for the best in a way, so as not to be upset about what we’re missing out on.
The thing is, this deal was too close to the WC and Lyon could have pounced on the medical issue as way/reason to delay until after, when his price might be higher.
A whole host of scenarios are very possible but no matter which one of them actually went down, I’m supremely confident in Liverpool’s ability to do the right business. This is a new feeling to me, after decades of being generally unsettled during the transfer windows.
Yes, the Van Dijk situation was horrible but I think the club have taken it and learned lessons from it. Fabinho was totally out of the blue for EVERYONE outside the club. When was the last time such a big deal was kept as quiet as that, anywhere in the world?
It would have been nice for us to get the Fekir deal done so we had one more player to support in the WC and the intrigue of the new signing would have really spiced things up. I will still watch out for him (if he even gets picked). I guess all the talk of his potential big money move will at least have his name in the managers mind, whether that can influence his first 11 , who knows. it certainly cant hurt his chances.

20th June 2018 at 8:33 am #22947City have apparently walked away from a deal to sign Mahrez after Leicester have demanded £75m plus Patrick Roberts who City value at £15m. Good news imo as I don’t think Mahrez is worth £90.

4th July 2018 at 3:29 pm #23586Mav, an indication as to how bereft the transfer market is of quality strikers. If the Higusin rumours are true he’s almost certainly a Sarri signing.?
Juve bid £88m for Ronaldo?

4th July 2018 at 4:13 pm #23587999-I would keep both Morata & the lad from Belgium myself, give them a proper chance next season. The market is absolutely dead in terms of classy strikers, with only Kane and Icardi left @ the top shelf, and Neymar/Mbappe being more attackers than strikers, same for Dybala!
