Chucky, not sure about the valuations on Asensio but Chelsea firstly don’t want to sell Hazard and seemingly won’t take a penny less than £200m and it’s to their advantage to put a £250m price on his head as they don’t want to sell him.

To pull off a transfer this big in the last three weeks of the window will take a massive offer and a solution on a replacement for Hazard if it’s to happen and although I hope it doesn’t then £100m plus Asensio given Chelsea’s seemingly minimum valuation of £200m for Hazard based on what Neymar went for last year and where Chelsea consider Hazard is now in valuation might work. But even then Chelsea don’t want to sell him.

For this to move forward I think Hazard has to put in a written transfer request which I don’t think he will be prepared to do and Real have to be prepared to meet Chelsea’s valuation which I don’t think they will be prepared to do either which leaves any deal in limbo probably until next Summer imo but we’ll see.

Mav, on Higusin I agree with you here’s what I posted to Sean earlier.

“I’m split as to whether it’s a good decision or not given his age but there are so few top strikers available.

He’s close to Sarri which will probably be the deciding factor in any transfer although Poch is from Argentina?

Tbh I would have liked to see Morata given another chance under Sarri as I think he might prosper under Sarri’s brand of football but it looks like we might do a deal with Milan for Donnarumma swapping him for Morata?”

The deal for Higusin is bring being driven by there being a dearth of quality strikers and Higuain’s strong relationship with Sarri and question marks against Morata personally I think it would be interesting to see what Morata might be able to achieve at Chelsea under Sarri.

If Higusin shoots Chelsea back into the CL despite no resell value it might make sense.

3×9-Mate,Real Madrid turned down offers of £180m from both United and Liverpool earlier this season for Asensio,even the lads on ESPN confirmed it! Maybe you meant Isco,but even he is valued close to £150m I believe?

I too cannot see Hazard moving this summer,there is very little time left to replace him! Unless Chelsea have a “done-deal” already for someone we dont know about.

Mav, it’s in Chelsea’s best interests to undervalue Asensio and overvalue Hazard as they don’t want to sell Hazard hence the suggested £250m for Hazard and £100m for Asensio.

Re Asensio’s valuation Asensio’s Agent and representative Horacio Gaggioli claims Los Blancos have already snubbed huge bids for his client.

He told Cadena SER: “Real Madrid have received two offers for Marco Asensio, of up to 150 million euros so maybe not quite £180m.?

There might be a bit of give and take either way although you have to take into account this is a deal Chelsea don’t want to do.

As I said I earlier I don’t think a swap deal will happen for all sorts of reasons but it’s probably the sort of deal that would give Real the best chance of signing Hazard. Cheers 999

Mav, if a swap deal becomes a possibility I welcome a very high valuation of Asensio by Real and a very high valuation by Chelsea of Hazard it makes any deal for Hazard much more unlikely.

I am also encouraged by reports that Real are ending their chase of Hazard above and with the news that Neymar is no longer considered untransferable by PSG.

Personally imo the best piece of transfer business Chelsea can do this Summer is retaining Hazard who I think might well flourish still further under Sarri and Zola. Here’s hoping that’s how it turns out from a Chelsea perspective. Cheers 999

In reality who knows Chucky but it’s clear Chelsea don’t want to sell Hazard so the price is likely to be very high.

You can guess Chelsea’s response to that!?

There’s no chance of Hazard going to Madrid without Madrid offer close to Chelsea’s valuation of him personally I wouldn’t sell him for £200m.

Sean, yes I saw Klopp suggested Liverpool were done in the transfer market I agree with your assesment but having spent circa £170m already I guess it’s not possible to do everything in one window.

Liverpool look really strong now though and will push City all the way in the title race.

One player can be important but he could get injured or lose form. The strong squad is the key.
Although not directly related City have gone on their pre-season tour – although some may join towatds the end – WITHOUT:
Ederson
Walker Stones Kompany Otemendi Delph Mendy
Silva, Bernardo, KDB, Sterling Fernandinho, Gundogan
Aguero Jesus
ie basically most of the first team.

The point I am making is it is never about one player however good. Hazard ..great player but not the team. If a player doesnt want to play there will be somebody else.

The area where I think we would struggle is with a holding midfield if God forbid Fernandiniho got injured. I don’t think we have any real back up there. Such an important position. Attacking wise we have more options than last season with Mahrez and also Mendy who can and does ping great first time balls into the box and who will be like a new signing.

But he’s 33. City have excellent cover everywhere else

Nine, even if Madrid offer 200m which is a fair price , I still don’t think

Not according to me Chucky according to numerous reports, Chelsea who don’t want to sell Hazard have put a price of £200m on him. Given Coutinho went for £140m and Neymar went a year ago for £200m together with the fact that Hazard had a much better World Cup than Neymar that doesn’t seem too far wide of the mark to me.

However if it was down to me I wouldn’t even accept £200m for him
