We let them all go and itβs a totally new midfield nil mate. That means they need time to blend so I wouldnβt be expecting anything next season

14th July 2023 at 4:19 pm #207624Sean, I do get where you’re coming from mate wholeheartedly. Admittedly, I’ve been tunneled-visioned into seeing a business opportunity as both Hendo and and Tiago are close in age, respectively 33,32. Fabinho 29.
The problem going forward you are right; no midfield left if ALL 3 of them leave before the start of the season. And what’s presented exclusively is that all 3 of them occupy the same area of the pitch. Millie already left as with Ox who fell out of favour. The key is losing experience.
I think we sort of were facing this situation in the early 90s after Kenny left, and many of our players were aged all at once. United in the same plight after Ferguson had left and Moyes came in at the wrong time.
Let’s be honest as well, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot, I still think need more experience. It may hamper us too as we have hard and tricky fixtures, so perhaps we need to be careful on how we tread from a first 11 point of view and of course the midfield area.

15th July 2023 at 5:18 pm #207626Mind you plenty of warnings given to us by all and sundry who are going to do this and that. Did those players really say those things or did the papers make it up,tricky one that
The biggest joke is Bayern thinking they can have Alvarez on loan. It beggers belief
Next story is we’ll be signing Mbappe as part swap for Silva Or better we are selling Haaland to United.
Wait for tomorrow’s nonsense!!_____________________________

16th July 2023 at 10:29 am #207627Obviously I’m baised, but I do think the sausage munchers lastest “statement” is taking the piss to a new level of taking the piss… now I hoping Levy tells them to go and do one… I know all clubs do it behind the scenes, but to release a statement like that? I see Abu “Sports Washing Campaign” Dhabi’s habit of blantantly ignoring the rules in such a public manner is catching…

16th July 2023 at 10:49 am #207628Looks like Pool are trying to block Hendo’s move to Saudi. Fabinho’s on his way as he was left out of the tour y’day.
What a move re Rice for the Gunners!

16th July 2023 at 11:59 am #207629Adlab re 11th @ 8:21,
I actually see it from the club’s point of view as a business opportunity. Seems now there is a niche’ and a up and coming market to reignite shelf-life for players over 30. FSG’s business model has maintained that it does not want to hold onto to such players once reaching and passing the threshold.
Milner was a one off and for me the guy deserves his own statue not being fussed and just accepting yearly renewals of his contract. In a way, it makes good business sense and money is not unnecessarily squandered with ridiculous lengthy contracts.
Saudi may now be a bad venture even if they’re in a paranormal universe of their own. If this takes off, who knows what it will be in 5 years. I know we can criticize players for greed etc, but in another way, one would be mad to turn it down. To some out there too, it’s a bit of a holiday and fun!

19th July 2023 at 8:29 am #207631All we get on Sky Sports news is Arsenal followed by Chelsea and then Chelsea followed by Arsenal. They are going to do this or that etc.
Hardly anything on United or Newcastle or Liverpool or us or most others.
Nothing to do with London is it? One reason why I was pleased to pip Arsenal for the league. Just shut up the London media who had already given the title to Arsenal._____________________________

19th July 2023 at 5:49 pm #207632Well the outlook for next season already looking quite different from just a few weeks ago. Players going to Saudi Arabia undoubtedly now going to have a significant impact on the Premier league. I don’t think Liverpool expected to lose both Henderson & Fabinho this summer (if both go) and you can’t beat experience in this league and squad depth. Also, whilst they’re not all going to Saudi Arabia, City seem to be losing quite a few big players. Mahrez, Gundogan & Bernardo Silva are all still matchwinners and they can’t just be replaced like that. Kyle Walker also still a very good player (if they all leave).
The winners at the moment seem to be Arsenal who don’t seem to be losing any star players and are watching their rivals losing big players, whilst they are strengthening themselves. Obviously lots can still happen but as I say, you can’t just swap an experienced existing star player for another just like that. The new season could be quite open now.

23rd July 2023 at 11:09 am #207639We all know his bank account is going to look great but what a way to tarnish his legacy with both LIverpool and Engerland… as with all those multi-millionaires topping up their already humungous bank accounts…
Anyway, the absolute most ridiculous transfer rumor in the history of transfer rumors of all time, ever, M’Pappe to Spurs for a season loan… I would say you couldn’t make it up but somebody obviously did.

23rd July 2023 at 12:18 pm #207640Watching a reply of the Spuds vs Wet Spam game (as the game against Foxy Ladies in Bangkok is delaye wetness everywhere!) and this is a very different Spuds from the last 3/4 years… chance after chance after chance… I know it’s pre-season and all that (and our defence still doesn’t look brilliant!) but I think we’re going to be a lot more fun to watch at last under Angie…

23rd July 2023 at 12:29 pm #207641I don’t think Rainbow Laces were too bothered; they made a statement thanking him and I think nature just takes it cause after that.
Lionel Messi I’m sure has been an Ambassador, yet he’s gone for the ‘holiday too’. If every other footballer is going to be pulled up and judge, one thing’s for sure, they are what they are and money and lifestyle will talk.
Imagine though how this affects their children and their upbringing and education.
No more Fabinho too. Boy we will feel it I’m sure on the pitch but very good business deals indeed.

23rd July 2023 at 12:45 pm #207642I know he’s your puppy and you’re going to want to defend him, but this “money-grab” is making him look a bit of a hypcrite in my eyes, regardless of what “Rainbow Lances” say…

23rd July 2023 at 1:27 pm #207644Chucks I get as he’s made that choice to live a new life in a country that stands against LGBT. What I’m saying even though Jordan supported Rainbow Laces, they were understanding towards him in the end. Personally, I dont thinking deserves a backlash. I was more surprised at Gerrard taking up a management position. More players I’m sure will follow.

23rd July 2023 at 1:41 pm #207645Not sure what your point is cyber-chum, Henderson has been very “out-spoken” about it, and now they’ve waved a huge bag of cash under his nose, it’s all good… that is just about a perfect example of what hypocrite means.. as I said, just because “Rainbow Laces” have said it’s okay, doesn’t mean I’m going too…
