Young blue, managers will always comment if asked that question. Look at pep yesterday.
Pep said it was funny. It’s absolutely crazy what Chelsea are doing. We have never seen anything like this so it’s going to be constant news. 28 players bought in 3 windows is just bizarre. We know it’s legitimate but you look at Chelsea bench in subday, they still need more players even after signing 27 players. It may well work mate

19th August 2023 at 10:05 am #208481Don’t think for one minute the Bone Saw Champs will get in CL, do that and then the South American teams will want in etc….
I think a much better bet would be a bi-annual “Club World Cup”, held every two years between the World Cup and the Euros… (not that I agree with that, just saying I think that’s more likely to happen!).
Anyway, finally got around to Googling that Gift Orban, I know it’s Youtube, but that lad can finish, would much rather have him than the lad from Juve that I can’t spell… do it Levy, not like we don’t have the cash to splash, even withoutusing Jammy Todgers accounting practices.

19th August 2023 at 11:36 am #208483Well obviously if asked the question, what do you expect a Manager to come out with (if that had been the case). It’s a parallel and in all honesty, fans in myself have shown sour grapes because of the players we’ve needed to address our own problems, but Chelsea have been rebuilding too.
We don’t like it, but sods law. We lost in competition and the players didn’t want to join us anyway, so we move on. Our own fault in not being more expansive and ambitious in our recruitment.

20th August 2023 at 6:51 pm #208611Note Chelsea with big receipts and City with another £25m likely from Laporte. The surprise to me is Bournemouth.

20th August 2023 at 7:11 pm #208612La Porte out of favour from Akanji. I still rate him. Problem is, Man City won’t sell to Liverpool, so Saudi it is. On the cheap, so those wages are going to be being handsome.

21st August 2023 at 7:16 pm #208635Lightning fast winger. He will hug right touchline for you like mahrez did. Will beat plenty of isolated fullbacks in one on ones.

22nd August 2023 at 7:49 am #208661Maverick.
That’s what I said a while back. It will happen. UEFA will be bribed somehow and they will find a way. They’ll say something like FFP will be transitional or will have some special application.
If Qatar can get the World Cup imo by money passing, although we have no proof, then getting a team into the Champions league should be less problematic.
My guess is they will apply this year and be in for 2025.
You certainly wouldn’t bet against it._____________________________

22nd August 2023 at 8:01 am #208664Did somebody actually compare the UEFA Champions League to Eurovision??? Now I’ve heard it all… 🙂
Actually, the 64 billion dollar question would be if any AL-Bundy teams are allowedin the Champions League, do they have to follow FFP rules?? Because that will screw up their entire league in one go as we all know that’s just a tad little bit financially doped…

22nd August 2023 at 8:53 am #208669That’s a good point banjo, UEFA FFP should apply and while PSG still manage to meet criteria I very much doubt a Saudi club could.
I’m with you bud, if champs league let’s a Saudi team in it would be a disgrace.

22nd August 2023 at 9:20 am #208672Mr. Google tells me the “largest” Saudi club turned-over approx. 44mil pounds in 2022, which in turn accounted for roughly 46% of the entire leagues turnover… (so the entire league turned over approx. 95 mil pounds with the other 14 teams sharing 54% (or approx 51 mil pounds!)
And now they’re paying Naymer 130 million pounds a year and Ronaldo 175 million pounds a year!!
Even Adders can’t explain that one away… 🙂

22nd August 2023 at 1:24 pm #208681We are signing Balogun for 50m?
I will wear my ignorance regards this player on my sleeve by just asking, if he is good enough for us, then why is nketiah starting for arsenal?
Anyone have any reasons for me to get excited?
We panicking about our forward line now, after all the money spent! 😳

22nd August 2023 at 2:27 pm #208682I don’t think there’s any chance whatsoever of a Saudi team joining the CL. It’s easy to say “but they’ll get paid load for letting them in”. Sure, but they’re diluting their own product because Uefa want the absolute best players in the world to want to play for Uefa clubs and that’s what makes the Uefa CL the best club competition in the world. You start diluting that by allowing others in from Saudi and MLS, for example, you’re losing what’s unique about staying in Europe and all of a sudden, Uefa won’t be as powerful any longer. The very most would be a wildcard entry from another league but they’ll never get permanent access.

22nd August 2023 at 2:28 pm #208683However, I wouldn’t write off a restructuring of the Club World Cup to make that more like an extended CL.

Personally I think you will do well with himMuch better than nketiah
I’m actually a gutted aw he is a casualty of Arteta management and favourites regardless
He is yet to prove it in the pl but I think you actually have a steal
On top of havertz that is great business for you
Better player and money in the bank so ri speak
