6th August 2023 at 11:40 am #207876Lavia and Liverpool have agreed a 5 year deal. Steady guys; Klopp’s going nowhere. It may not be agreed, but it made good business sense in valuation of stock at present. If we had kept Fabinho what would we have fetched next season? This money plus Jordan’s 12m is to finance for Romeo Lavia. Obviously, that was happening as Lavia wants to join, but there was of course some hard-bargaining.
Mac Allister and the other new guy sorts out Midfield, but it’s a center-half we now need. Our threat is City and Gunners. Chelsea I’ve yet to see.
If we’re going to flake out when in transition and not take on the problem sensibly then we may as well chuck in the towel before a ball has been kicked!

6th August 2023 at 1:23 pm #207878Didnβt hear any news on Lavia Stevo. He wouldnβt be starting anytime soon either. We need an expierenced 6 even if he joins

6th August 2023 at 1:32 pm #207880Better midfield now for Liverpool. They should do much better if they reduce the long ball game and become less predictable
If we don’t win it again my money is on Liverpool.
Arsenal have something missing yet but maybe Rice might be the answer. I don’t know what to call it….guts? bottle? nerve? Don’t know. They are good enough They showed that last season but succumbed to pressure and there is the CL too this time.
Remember last season following the community shield Liverpool were going to do it…..For them it turned out to be a poor season. We were written off by the media on the following Monday.
Perhaps it will be about how well the changes for teams settle in. Some big changes and don’t forget Chelsea…major changes._____________________________

6th August 2023 at 2:04 pm #207883Lucky, this is what I’m saying mate. It’s an interesting point of time for us that’s going to need time and patience. It would be potentially turbulent if Klopp was to leave. We need him the most to carry out this transition period.
Personally, I’m excited as I do hope the players bought fit in and we formulate a new squad. We had several years going far back as 2016 and 17, and so we would eventually reach a point of needing to change. That is fine and perfectly normal as all clubs have to go through this cycle.
It will be Man City’s turn too.

6th August 2023 at 2:05 pm #207884They’re good signings Adlab; plus the players from last season. Arteta is armed now with a squad capable of beating City.

6th August 2023 at 3:37 pm #207896I think Klopp looks tired. In his last days at Dortmund, the press put it to him whether the team had been “found out” with teams now adapting more to them I think. Klopp refuted this, saying it was up to the players to be better and do what they need to. And I just see a similar pattern. Against Bayern, Klopp bemoaned the poor reacting of Matip & Trent. This, just over a week before the season starts? These are defenders he’s been working with for years. I think our midfield is arguably in worse shape now than last season. We have only one experienced all round midfielder in MacAllister. Bajecitic is very young and inexperienced. Lavia is only 19 if he comes. Thiago can pick up injuries. And the other midfielders are more attack minded. I think we have major problems in midfield and defence regardless whether Lavia comes in or not. Also Klopp seemed to react to a fan asking for an autograph in a clip I saw, saying he “had to hold the f****** shirt”. OK, he maybe had a long day, I’m not crucifying him for it, but I think its another sign that all is not well. Would he have said such a thing in his first season or two?
So I think we have 2 big problems. I think we have a manager coming to the natural end of a cycle. And the club itself is lacking significant leadership in its recruitment strategy.

6th August 2023 at 8:53 pm #207945Adlab I agree Levy has many faults, however he has told Bayern he will listen at Β£100m, so far their best offer is 100m Euros which is considerably less so no deal.Bayern have been arrogant telling all Kane is theirs, which has mightily pissed Daniel off, after he got 4 today against Shaktar he will probably tell them it’s gone up to Β£120m. Bayern have 6 days to come up with the full amount if not he will captain the team next Sunday against Brentford

7th August 2023 at 10:44 am #207950Steve, I just want it sorted one way or another, if he goes Spurs will have a chunk of cash to get a striker in, if he stays he’ll get 20-30 goals . If he stays and enjoys the football who knows he may sign a contract , who knows ?

7th August 2023 at 6:43 pm #207961Not convinced by Hojlund but time will tell. Not many proper 9βs out there anymore. Kane will score more goals, way more, but is not a line leading forward. Drops deep very often, which he is great at. Can see him staying until Xmas when spurs could look to cash in on him, or leave for free at the end of the season.
Mbappe on loan for a season would be a great signing for someone.

8th August 2023 at 10:59 am #207967Southampton just being annoying now. Lavia is supposed to be left out for the Gillingham game tonight and if he is, then surely, paperwork needs to be drawn up.
I’m pretty sure from what I’ve read from reports the third bid was improved and with add-ons met 50m and maybe in excess. The player wants the move, so why dither?!

8th August 2023 at 1:26 pm #207969Because they value him higher than what Liverpool are currently offering. Itβs really entitled to think clubs need to accept whatever offer your club is making for a player.

8th August 2023 at 2:33 pm #207970Well, there has been 3 offers of improved bids with add-ons that I believe meets what Saints have been asking for. The player has agreed personal terms, so it just seems the old ransom chestnut.

8th August 2023 at 2:50 pm #207971Kinda with Alfie on this one! Why should the Saints roll over and have their belly tickled by the Micky Mousers??
Obviously, if that isn’t the case, then #FREESALAH
I mean, the Saudi’s want him so the Micky Mousers should just roll over, right?

8th August 2023 at 3:49 pm #207972Yes, by admission we’re tight-wads hahaha. For a few measly million π
He should be ours by the end of the week but I think it’ll be too late for him to face Chelsea.
No more rejections please π
