Mikus has got it
Money is king.
The Saudi league is being built up for a reason.
The only issue is for what. More international acceptability of course but how?
The one thing most nations on Earth have in common is football. Show you are in that club and become more acceptable. They now allow women to drive!!!! We all make mistakes!_____________________________

30th July 2023 at 12:26 pm #207759It’s quite surprising why this didn’t take off 10 years ago.

30th July 2023 at 6:05 pm #207761Apparently Liverpool are going to sign Gvardiol, Nunez and Rasmus are going to score more than Haaland. Stories in today’s press.

31st July 2023 at 10:05 am #207762Adlab, who on earth said them 2 would score more than Haaland? Absolutely no chance. His only competitor for the golden boot is Kane and he might well be leaving for Germany by the sounds of it.
Very tough season for predictions. I’ll save my full predictions for the specific thread but it’s Obviously City again winning it (who else?). After that, it does feel like it could be any 3 from Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Utd, Spurs, Newcastle, Brighton (yes I’m not ruling them out despite losing Macallister and probably Caicedo too). Villa will be a force, too. I think Utd may just get 4th although I think we’ll still be better than last season and close the gap to the top. Beyond City, I think Arsenal and Liverpool will both finish above us as they are so much further ahead in their rebuild. We’ll be shaky as we get used to almost a whole new spine in a new GK, Mount and a new ST.

31st July 2023 at 10:14 am #207763The Haaland-Hojlund comparisons are crazy. It’s easy to understand why the media want to make the comparisons. The names sound similar. They’re physically quite similar. Blonde hair. From the same part of the world. Likely to be leading the line for each Manchester club. That’s where the comparisons should end though. Hojlund isn’t anywhere near Haaland’s league yet, if ever. Hojlund is extremely raw and nowhere near as prolific as Haaland. The fact they’re comparing transfer fees is hilarious though. They always seem to somehow forget to mention the massive wedge paid to agents and Erling’s dad in the Haaland deal. I never understand why that isn’t talked about more. They never mention Haaland’s extortionate Β£900k a week wage either, which is about 10x what we’re paying Hojlund.
Hojlund has plenty of promise but I hope for his sake he isn’t compared too much to Haaland or his chances of succeeding will be very slim.

31st July 2023 at 2:03 pm #207764Ed, I donβt think Liverpool will get top 4 mate. I think our rebuild is the biggest as we have lost the whole midfield jd two captains
We have no defensive midfielder with 13 days to go. We needed tgeee midfielders before Henderson and fabhino left. Itβs absolutely ridiculous what we are doing. We needed subtle changes year by year for midfield now we have let 5 go and have signed two? Makes no sense
I just donβt get our strategy Ed. We need two midfielders and a centre back.how long will it take for new players to fit in etc? Huge overhauls never work. We are completely in transition and could really be in trouble with the fixtures we have

31st July 2023 at 2:26 pm #207765Trust the process. Rome wasn’t built in a day. We are Liverpool. This means more. Or something like that π

31st July 2023 at 2:30 pm #207766I think Liverpool have bought well again though Sean. Nunez has had a season to bed in now so it’s at least a settled forward line, a settled defence and a settled goalkeeper. Mac Allister is top quality. Assuming Lavia comes in, I think Liverpool could hit the ground running.
For us, I think Mount will do ok. Never really thought he’s that good in all honesty but I hope Ten Hag knows what he’s doing. Onana looks good but it will be a big change to go from De Gea to him and I think we’ll make a lot of defensive mistakes trying to play out from the back more. The defence as a whole are still not really suited to that yet aside from Martinez and probably Shaw. Varane is a great defender but can be a bit careless on the ball. I like what we’re doing but I think we’re going to take time to evolve into what Ten Hag wants, just like Arsenal did under Arteta and even Liverpool under Klopp.
Not too worried about Spurs this season for the same reason. I think Spurs will take a while to transition from Conte/Mourinho to more of an attacking, passing game. For all Liverpool’s midfield upheaval, I think they can benefit from the likes of Utd, Spurs, Chelsea all being much further behind in their rebuilds.

1st August 2023 at 1:20 pm #207774God bless our late friend Paul, 999, the chelsea team talk site is now pretty much what I thought it would be without him. Even racist idiots feeling free to spout nonsense.
I only ever went there to chat chelsea with nine and 67 and haven’t really posted there since his passing. It’s such a shame but done with that site now, I know many of you have been for a while too.

1st August 2023 at 1:30 pm #207775There are some good lads on there still, and I dropped a message to advise them of this site.
Ed, apologies if any idiots come in off the back of it but they soon be identified and there are some really good lads on teamtalk that I would love to see on here.

1st August 2023 at 2:04 pm #207777Just been watching the women’s World Cup match.
I still don’t understand the offside rule and the handball in the area for a penalty beggars belief.
Another season of VAR NONSENSE on the way._____________________________

1st August 2023 at 2:18 pm #207778Lucky, no worries at all. I thought the Chelsea site there would decline once Nine was no longer around. He’s a huge miss to both sites. He really is.

1st August 2023 at 2:52 pm #207779He truly is Ed.
Everything chelsea related that happens my reflex thought is “what would Nine make of this?” It hurts that I can only imagine his take on things now.
