Wow, I’ve really seen it all now! π
Real Madrid, PSG and Inter Milan are all monitoring Jesse Lingard's situation ahead of the summer transfer window, sources have told @RobDawsonESPN. https://t.co/IpjxGl6y14

12th April 2021 at 11:11 am #177425Joking aside, what an amazing transformation Lingard has undergone.
Haaland supposedly after Β£1mil a week! I really hope all PL clubs tell Raiola where to go if these stories are true

12th April 2021 at 12:16 pm #177431That’s laughable lads really is, who could possibly afford that.

12th April 2021 at 12:33 pm #177432If other reports are to be believed, maybe more realistic that some clubs would pay it than it first seems. Messi apparently earns over Β£2mil per week and Ronaldo just under Β£1mil a week (Β£900k). If Barca and Juventus can afford those wages, why couldn’t the top PL clubs? Still wouldn’t want my club to do it but I’m sure a few PL clubs could stretch to it if they wanted (Utd included).

12th April 2021 at 1:50 pm #177433How many of those contracts were signed pre covid and how many of the players earning that money are 20yrs old?
I know how ridiculous the money is at top of the game but 1m per week for a 20yr old is mental
Rather chelsea stay well clear if that’s what he wants, let real or barca crack on I say, we beat them with messi at his best we can beat them with haaland too

12th April 2021 at 1:54 pm #177435150m transfer fee and 400k per week, those figures still mental but given the market I would pay that
No more than that though

12th April 2021 at 2:29 pm #177436I’m with Lucky, Haaland could well be the missing piece of the jigsaw for Chelsea if he was gettable which is highly questionable anyway given how many Clubs want Haaland but I wouldn’t want Chelsea to get him at Β£1m pw. Pass.π

12th April 2021 at 2:34 pm #177437No I agree. I’d want Utd to stay clear those wages. I’m just saying it’s maybe not as extraordinary as it first seems. He may be 20 but I’d argue he should be getting paid as much as Messi and Ronaldo do. He’s arguably more valuable than both now, together with Mbappe.
So, I definitely wouldn’t want my club paying that but I don’t think it’s beyond the top PL clubs, financially speaking. Morally speaking is entirely different π

12th April 2021 at 2:39 pm #177438It’s not just about on the field value though Ed.
Messi and CR7 are commercial brands in their own right with huge value based on over a decade if remarkable performances. Haaland can not be paid ghe same he is already well known and has substantial commercial value, but doesn’t compare to messi or Ronaldo
Mbappe a little different ad he is a world cup winner already and certainly higher commercial value than haaland

12th April 2021 at 2:44 pm #177440To be fair a lot of this is just bs to inflate his market value anyway
Wouldn’t be surprised if some clubs claiming an interest are only doing so to inflate his price so much this summer that no competitor can actually afford him and he ends up staying one more year at dortmund until his release clause becomes active. No way in hell are barca, real, psg or Munich going to buy him this summer. Its city this summer or real/barca next summer, the rest is bs invented either as click bait or put out by rivals to distort the market

12th April 2021 at 3:41 pm #177446Lucky..you are right , the more it is discussed and hyped about, the Agents will love it. If I was a Manager though and the club I worked for had that money I would prefer 3/4 class players to one that cost a lot and could easily be injured in first game. Risk is very high even if you wanted to go that route. I would be a little dissapointed if City paid that amount of money and hope they keep there good business sense. I also think the supporters would feel uncomfortable with the numbers. However, as always somebody will do it, just hope it is not City

12th April 2021 at 4:04 pm #177448I agree that a lot of it is rubbish. The fact that Utd are linked with him, for example, is just nonsense. The lad is a Leeds fan whose Dad had his Manchester City career ended by a Man Utd player. Going to Man Utd just isn’t going to be on his agenda. But dismissing that possibility would reduce his price. I also think Utd are rightly going to avoid Raiola again at all costs.
Yeah Lucky, I fully understand Ronaldo and Messi’s commercial value but it’s the whole package you’re buying isn’t it? Neither of those two are worth anywhere near what Haaland is on the field any longer and Haaland’s commercial value is only going in one direction. A big move for him now will catapult his commercial value and the sponsors will soon come flocking to him. You’re essentially buying the new Ronaldo.
To clarify, I’m not defending the Β£1mil a week being talked about. I’d be very annoyed if my club agreed to that. I’m merely saying I don’t think it’s out of reach for the top PL sides.

12th April 2021 at 4:27 pm #177449Haaland talking about Solksjaer when at Molde:
“He [Solskjaer] has had a huge impact on my life, both as a person and as a trainer,β Haaland told TV2 in September 2019. βHe won the Champions League and was an incredibly good player. He has taught me a lot.
βI have dreamed of playing for the best clubs in the world my whole life, and I especially like English football.β
Looks nailed on to me Ed π

13th April 2021 at 8:26 am #177469Well it didn’t stop him joining Dortmund rather than Utd did it?! π Neither Utd or Haaland have anything to gain by ruling it out. Both camps benefit from Utd’s supposed interest as both camps want him to go for the highest possible fee, as Utd know they won’t be getting him. A Leeds Utd fan with his Dad’s history with Utd just doesn’t join Utd! As much as I think Ole would love him, it’s just not going to happen.

24th May 2021 at 1:58 pm #179619Looks like Madrid need to offload some wages.
Real Madrid will listen to offers for Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale this summer amid their continued interest in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.
