Manchester United’s latest accounts show they lost £29m in the last three months of 2017 because of changes in corporate tax rates in the USA.
Revenue for the quarter was up four per cent to £163.9m, and United still expect revenues for the year to be between £575m and £585m.
The media just want to focus on revenue. Where is FFP Mr Gill.?

9th February 2018 at 8:06 pm #15047AnonymousI hear David Gill is too busy referring Man City matches wearing a mask to be bothered about enforcing penalties for FFP rule breaches against clubs that haven’t breached FFP rules.

10th February 2018 at 8:07 am #15053The point is guys dont believe this wealthy club nonsense. No profit, massive debt and owners taking huge dividends.
It you bought one player costing £80m on a 4year contract thats another 20m a year write off. FFP?Mr Gill? You are probably right. Many a true word eyc!

10th February 2018 at 9:32 am #15057The point is I get fed up being told how rich Utd are when they make losses and have massive debt. The media love in needs to start telling the truth.
They never will though.
Reason. All we ever get is “big spending Man City”. Yes that is true but we dont have losses and we have no debt. Just tell it like it is. We are lucky we have a wealthy owner. Are you going to win today?

As for your thread, why? When it comes to finances, the Manc clubs are the ugly sisters at the ball. I think you’ll find the vast majority of the rest of us couldn’t really give a rats Arsenal…

10th February 2018 at 10:37 am #15065Maverick.
You believe the hype and thats fine. Look at Utd’s accounts. If you are able to follow the detail you would be surprised. Just not the rosy story the media present.Chucky you have a billionaire owner who lives offshore. Arsenal have billionaire owners. No difference.
Still its fun pre-match!
Arsenal v Spurs.? Going for 0-0 ! Just because everybody thinks the opposite. But a draw seems most likely. Its a game that Arsenal really have to win.

10th February 2018 at 10:43 am #15067So now it’s everybody elses’s owners? Do you even know what your own point is now? 🙂
But yes, the pressure is on the Goonies, but they have a slight “unknown” factor about them with the new boys, and my boys are absolute shite on lunchtime KO’S… no real idea what to call which is why I went for 3-2 to the Goonies and Banjo reckons 4-1 Spuds…

10th February 2018 at 10:49 am #15068AnonymousAdlab – really cannot see the point in trying to explain this to you, but that is a three month loss and solely due to a write off due to the way corporate tax changed how it is calculated in USA. It is a paper loss, not a cash loss. It’s an anomaly is accounting procedures. Really is nothing to worry about. Especially when you are clear at the top of the PL.
Just enjoy football.

10th February 2018 at 11:16 am #15070But money isn’t everything is it, no prizes for making the most money.
FFP is there to try and keep the status quo, the historically big clubs don’t want rich owners coming their party and taking all the prizes, a battle I think they can’t win.
FFP should not be there to stifle competition under the guise of sustainability, if rich owners want to put billions into football clubs that’s up to them…. Pagan

10th February 2018 at 11:37 am #15072Come on Blueadder, cyber chum, what did you expect? A City boy (who’s club spends more on defense per year than 52 sovereign nations) complaining about YooUtd making big loses due to changes in ‘Merican Tax Codes, and you going to wonder why everybody is basically taking the Micheals?
Apart from the Chelski lads, whose elder members can remember back far enough to when they were the Billy Bigboots when it came to spending, and now look on on envy, and the Pool lads who set World Transfer Records for Defenders, and the Goonie lads who spent hundreds of millions on a stadium to gain a financial advantage over everybody only to discover TV contracts were worth more, the rest of us are just laughing at the pointlessness of your thread. YooUtd’s loses are about as important as what SRD had for breakfast (and I bet it was a bacon sandwich!).

10th February 2018 at 12:13 pm #15073Chuckles, as a Chelsea fan, it bothers me not one bit who spends what, I do find it sad though that the big clubs don’t want other clubs to get rich owners and come to the party…..Pagan
