20th March 2020 at 10:08 am #89833Special-K… nobody on here is going to read it, cyber chum, got no pictures in it! 🙂
“Surface Detail” is great, think “Culture” meets “Matrix”… it’s one of those stories with multiple stories within coming together in a grand finale… if you really like the “Culture” novels, it’s really worth reading…

20th March 2020 at 11:25 am #89872Brian, amazing what you can do on a keyboard Brian isn’t it. I’ve got 4 Guitars and they are my pride and joy. I try and have a little noodle on them every day.

Great bit of kit, theres a bigger 6 input XLR available (Its brilliant), but if you record music on different instruments or have recording issues, its a solid bit of kit for editing it together.
Brian/ 9’s… favourite guitars? check out Devin Townsend, eclectic but expansive stuff.
Chucky.. trannies… where? what? 😉

21st March 2020 at 8:25 am #90521Brian, I’ve got a 56 Fender Custom Shop Closet Classic Strat it’s my most expensive Guitar I treated myself to it after a big bonus and it was a great buy and a great investment because it’s worth even more now than when I bought it back then, it is exactly the 1956 Strat and because of that it’s quite heavy.
My first proper Guitar was an Epiphone Les Paul Black Beauty that my wife bought me for Christmas one year and it’s still a beauty and like the Strat I will never part with it..
I’ve bought and sold a few Guitars and I had a lovely PRS Gold top which I traded in I’ve always regretted getting rid of my PRS and I added a Zach Myers PRS to my collection about 18 months ago it’s a looker and a Semi Hollow body so much lighter to play than my Fender Strat and a completely different sound.
I did have a Martin Acoustic but I couldn’t never get on with it the action on Martin’s are quite high which makes it a bit harder on the fingers to play but being a Clapton fan just like the Strat I was attracted to it primarily because Martin was a Guitar he played.
Anyway I bit the bullet just over a year ago and sold the Martin sad to see it go but I wanted to buy an Acoustic which was a bit easier on the fingers to play and I plumped for the Taylor Mini Electro Acoustic it’s a brilliant little Guitar easier to play than the Martin and an Electro Acoustic too which meant I had to buy an Acoustic Amp as well but it sounds great either just as an Acoustic or through the Acoustic Amp.
My wife’s right I don’t need any more Guitars but I’ve got my eyes on adding a Fender Telecaster to my collection which would complete my collection for me just got to talk her round.
That’s the hard part.?
All the Guitars are much better than I am but I get a lot of enjoyment from retiring to my man cave and messing around on them which is even more important in these difficult days.

21st March 2020 at 11:26 am #90628Nine…well we both suffer from the same thing..our equipment is better than we are. Although I play a lot with Midi backing tracks now, particularly Big Band….and I mean BIG band….Ted Heath, Count basie etc at my age the finger work is difficult now, easier if i select a Trombone or play Shearing style (slower) Guitars, often liked to play an Acoustic for real but again my fingers would not manage it now. The keyboard versions are exceptionalities and you would have to be good to tell difference
442…Recording is easy via keyboard CD/USB or HD I still have a 16 track Roland recorder though I have good memory storage on both keyboards and store my efforts….just to learn where I make the mistakes!!!!
