I think Chelsea have a better squad then utd and spurs. Hazard is a big loss but Chelsea should be doing better with the players they have. Injuries havenโt helped but spurs and utd are with it their best players
That was very poor last night againest a very limited utd team

18th February 2020 at 7:47 am #70829The controversies and all the issues with the site last night meant I forgot to congratulate the Ed, Mav and all the other United lads on here on their victory.
Putting everything else to one side it was two great deliveries into the box by United and two great headers. Congrats lads.

18th February 2020 at 7:51 am #70832another good game from Fred
Pedro is finished and I think Willian is aswell. Pity about William as he had been a brilliant player in the pl

18th February 2020 at 7:55 am #70834I only saw a bit of the game but the Sky Germany commentators said “definitive rote Karte” to Maguires kick to the goolies. When the big screen showed no red card they just burst out laughing. Professional commentators reduced to laughing because of VAR. In another match something blatantly obvious wasn’t overturned and they said “welcome to the Premier League with VAR” whilst again having a chuckle at our expensive.
We have literally become a laughing stock. Not seen many European games but how do they do it, or more to the point how come we can’t?

18th February 2020 at 8:02 am #70838Doubly annoying, not only was in the team Banjo Love’s To Watch Lose, but YooUtd get away with out getting a 3 game ban like Wee-Sonny did for exactly the same offense.
VAR my Arsenal!!

18th February 2020 at 8:09 am #70839threeps to be fair it wasn’t the VAR system that was at fault last night for not sending off Maguire last night or for denying Chelsea a legitimate equaliser when Azpilucueta was clearly pushed into Williams by Fred it was the idiot operating it.

18th February 2020 at 8:12 am #70840Sean Chelsea’s best front three are Hudson Odoi, Abraham and Pulisic and their most influential player is Kante. Strip Liverpool of Mane, Firmino , Salah and Van Dijk and it would make a big difference.

18th February 2020 at 8:22 am #70843Nine, when I talk about VAR, I am not talking about the just the technical side of it. Most of the time it is down to the idiot operating it. VAR is the idiot, the computer, the cameras, the funny bent lines, the whole system.

18th February 2020 at 11:09 am #70939The controversies and all the issues with the site last night meant I forgot to congratulate the Ed, Mav and all the other United lads on here on their victory. There is nothing to congratulate about/for,as the game was lost/won by the officials/VAR,period! I agree with Rover & Moos, the game has become a farce, makes me sick.
Maguire should have seen red,no doubt whatsoever,2 Chelsea goals should have stood, and that would have changed the game, but I guess we will never know now._____________________________

18th February 2020 at 11:16 am #70944I say deduct both sides 12 points for showing up and fine them 50 million bottle because they’re both good for it…

18th February 2020 at 3:20 pm #71079fair points nine mate. I just think Chelsea have the best squad out of everyone challenging for the top 4 and yesterday is a huge blow as they were 6 ahead of utd. 4th was there for the taking and Chelsea were in pole position
Utd set your
The same way in every big game. Ten men behind the ball and try to counter attack. Very difficult when you go one downTwo ridiculous decisions aswell but Chelseaโs home form would be a concern

18th February 2020 at 3:26 pm #71083Pagan, I totally agree with your post at 10.02 last night, until they have both pictures in screen ie the player passing the ball and the alleged player offside this ludicrous car crash that is VAR will continue to ruin our game.

18th February 2020 at 3:34 pm #71088Sean, yep a win yesterday would have put us 9 ahead of United but for all sorts of reasons if wasn’t to be.
I don’t think anyone of those challenging for 4th place look great and it’s still very much all up for grabs.
From a Chelsea perspective we need to get Pulisic, Abraham,Hudson Odoi, Loftus Cheek and Kante back in the team and playing regularly again and we need to tighten up on our defending particularly the high ball into the box do that and we’ve still got half a chance. Also someone on the post and the Maguire header doesn’t go in.
Tbh I wasn’t expecting Chelsea to be 4th in February and we’ve been on a terrible run of form too.
You’ve got the normal fickle social media fans calling for Frank’s head again too many JCL’s who have been spoilt by success.
I just hope we’re wiser than that this time round and we give Frank the Summer and next Season to set us on the right path. Cheers 9’s

18th February 2020 at 4:19 pm #71110It seems in European leagues VAR is used by the game ref to give him a second view of his decision, he toddles off to the pitch side monitor, had a quick look and then has a choice between, Iโm happy with that or I made a ruck of it. In general people donโt like to admit they got something wrong, so unless itโs a massive clanger they tend to stick to their original decision, hence the phrase clear and obvious.
However in the PL at the moment there seems to be a determination to forensically disallow goals, Iโm not sure why this is, I can only assume itโs either a misguided attempt to justify its use, or to counter the โweโll have nothing to talk aboutโ argument.
Currently in the PL itโs a mess, and until the refs take responsibility for their own decisions by self review I think it will remain so…..Pagan

18th February 2020 at 4:26 pm #71114Park Lane, with offside analysis Iโm still unconvinced that the certainty of when the ball is played forward is 100% accurate, and for me Iโd like to see both the ball being played and the lines at the same time, Iโd also like have the option to be able to move the frame backwards and forwards a couple of frames as they do in cricket, that option in itself would help to settle a few of the contentious decisions…..Pagan

18th February 2020 at 5:47 pm #71162Paga, you have just put into words what I tried to and failed, thanks.I have seen a full shot of Son’s lip gloss offside where the ball was in flight before he moved , so I have to agree again, surely it can’t be that hard ?? Stockley Park ??? more like South Park.

18th February 2020 at 10:15 pm #71340Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has blamed Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and his coaching crew for allowing Maguire escape a red card.
According to Scholes, the Chelsea bench was too passive and he believes Maguire would have been sent off if it was Jose Mourinho on the bench.
Scholes said: โI think the reaction from the Chelsea bench could have been a bit more aggressive.
โI think if Mourinho is on the Chelsea bench he would be going ballistic and been holding his hand up [waving a card].โ
Scholes probably has a point there.
