Very very scarey scenario, we are slowly but surely moving towards a nuclear war Heaven forbid. This would be a totally devastating especially for the Northern hemisphere but in essence the whole world. Let’s pray we don’t go there.

Blaze – if the cold War taught us anything, it’s that a nation is unlikely to use nukes, if they can also be used against them. In addition I doubt very much Russia would drop a nuke on a neighbouring country.

Finland was never part of the USSR or Russia. The USSR invaded during the first few months of ww2 as they were worried about Nazi loyal Finland giving Germany another flank to attack them. But the Soviets were not well prepared and struggled in the severe temperatures and Finland kept its sovereignty.
We have been closer to nuclear war before and it never happened. I think for most of western Europe rising fuel costs will be what hits us hard.

Threeps – I’m not sure Finland was ever Nazi loyal. They fought a largely defensive war against the soviets, eventually fighting alongside the allies against the Nazis.

Harry, at the start of ww2 Finland was sided with Germany but faced the Ussr alone in a defensive war. Later they fought with Nazi Germany against the Soviet Union.

In the last part of ww2 they fought against Germany in what’s called the Lapland war after a truce was agreed with the Soviets and to expel German forces from Finland.
These days Finland would probably be of interest to Russia as its strategically well placed and I don’t think is part of NATO. But at the moment I wouldn’t be concerned, apart from the fuel prices.

DH never mentioned that Russia would nuke a neighbouring country though they may eventually, it would initially be a straight throw between USA and Russa with maybe other counties aligned to each of them joining in at some stage. Of course let’s pray it want happen and hope it’s only pure speculation, however you can read this article below and decide whatever you wish to make of it.

Right then, Russia hasn’t invaded and Conte is still here… π
But as for the mighty Spuds, can’t decide if we have some new found and very un-Spurs like resilience or we’re just rubbish but grinding out results… is it the mark of champions or just a bit “lucky”?
Still not sure how Royal is a regular starter when we have both Donkey and Spence on the bench, certainly think it’s time for one of them to start, all the “best” performances from the last third of last season had Donkey starting, that’s for sure. Maybe that injury was a bit more severe than we all thought.
Obvioulsy, the other major issue is Sonny’s form disappearing quicker than Buffy when it’s his round, something which I’m sure will return and have an impact.
As for the new signings, I have to say I do like Perisic, and despite only having a couple of starts, that Lenglet fella is very smooth and composed (although I’m sure he’ll ahve stiffer tests than those his already faced).

Best one was my old mate, Leon, who’s Dad used to manage one of those fruit machine arcades somewhere, he grew up on the bloody things. Anyway, we’d watch him empty these buggers out down the pub, and he still used to blag he had no money when it was his round… does IT for a bank now…
