My eldest is 7 and has recently started Playing Fifa. He broke the news to me over the last couple of days that he likes Manchester City.
According to him, it’s fine because “well, it’s still Manchester like you said Dad!”. Does anyone have any experience of correcting mistakes like this?! ?
Bear in mind that I live abroad so his only exposure to the Premier League is through myself and, well Fifa. I just feel like I’ve failed as a parent!

9th January 2018 at 8:18 am #11716Frankly, Ed, if it’s a choice between City and United, I think the lad is showing judgement and maturity beyond his years!!

9th January 2018 at 8:20 am #11717It’s a problem, though. If going to games isn’t an option, I can only suggest a United shirt, watching United games with him, posters for his bedroom etc…
…or you could lock him in his bedroom and not let him till he sees the light!!

9th January 2018 at 8:55 am #11722My daughter when through a phase of liking Leicester, because she liked the “Foxes”, but I settled for convincing her not to like the team with the guns on them.
Shame is she’s seen her team win more titles than I have… 🙂
Oh, and take away his Playstation…

9th January 2018 at 9:12 am #11728Pro Evo was amazing. Master League was just brilliant. Agree though about the indoor footy on Fifa 98. Everyone says the same thing about that so I don’t know why they don’t just bring it back, at least as a paid add-on, if nothing else.
Am I right in saying there was one Fifa where you could actually dive too?!

9th January 2018 at 9:20 am #11731Think it was Fifa 12 or 13 Editor. You pressed R1 and L1 together and the player went down. I got a penalty when I just ran in to the box, no other player around me and took a tumble. The person I was playing against raged quit.

9th January 2018 at 9:22 am #11732Anonymousi remember playing Ultimate Soccer Manager – the original management game. You could take bribes, place bets on games and i’m pretty sure if you pressed K during a match, you would score.
Sensible Soccer was very enjoyable. There was one game, may have been Fifa (cant remember), where you could run away from the ref so he couldnt book you.

9th January 2018 at 9:30 am #11733Yeah I remember that running away from the ref thing. Can’t remember what game it was. I think you could press all your buttons when you scored too to make annoying sounds which really pissed off the other player.
I had an Athletics game on the PC ages ago where you could dope the athletes up! It was always a risk because you’d get banned if caught but break loads of records if you didn’t get caught.

9th January 2018 at 10:02 am #11737How about just giving that 7-year old/young spoiled brat a few good smacks in the face? What next? Chelsea,PSG? Then you could always blame it on Banjo! I would.
