3rd April 2019 at 12:02 pm #36757AnonymousCome, on. Who didn’t see this coming (besides the Utd board)? They’d wanna hope he can bring them back up. Zero proof he can but he’s got a mighty contract to cancel if not.

3rd April 2019 at 2:14 pm #36767So the consensus I would imagine is for, against, then somewhere in between.
To my recollection, Ole hasn’t lost a lot of games in his reign so far. I wonder what the attitudes would be had his United team just went through a winning streak?
I get the feeling there are some who simply don’t want him as a permanent fix, so it feels as though they’re lurking in the background and the first sign of any adversity, the knives come out.
There’s fickleness, and then there’s fans just going with the flow.
I wouldn’t have Zidane at my club. Mo-Po in the meantime is comfortable in his easy-chair and I’d suspect Levy is happy with him.
Ask yourselves, do you want to be ‘that’ club changing their manager every 3 years.
It’s the way of the world some might say, but to me, that’s not Man United.

3rd April 2019 at 2:24 pm #367686 managers in 5 years would say different…they are only “not that club” because of Fergie, a one off and never to be repeated…
AW was the same and we are “not that club”…….
as chelsea are finding out, new mangers can only do so much unless fully supported by the club…if they arent then expectations are less (see the spuds) which is why levy is happy

3rd April 2019 at 2:47 pm #36771That’s what I don’t get about Spurs. What are they?
Progression can be measured in different ways, and realistically, some clubs will accept to keep their head above water and plod on whereby for others it’s a matter of knowing the revenue generated the more competitions you can be involved in.
The ultimate measure of success and a great side is trophies and achieving this over a period of time.

3rd April 2019 at 3:15 pm #36772Fans are the same no matter which Club they support if their teams not winning after a while they turn on the Manager or if the Manager is making a complete cods of it. π

If you’re referring to myself, you couldn’t have read this any more wrong than that. I mean, I’ve been clear to the point of annoying Nine and Ed etc.
Nothing I’ve said about this has anything to do with the rivalry and in fact, I have been speaking from a point of frustration at the poor decision making of the Utd board, not the other way ’round. Liverpool have a history of suffering through poor ownership decisions. Luckily for us, it is just that though and is gone. This results in empathy for them, even if I ultimately do not wish to see them winning the title next season. There is a middle ground and it’s based on respect for your rivals.

3rd April 2019 at 8:43 pm #36788Ole canβt legislate for a player getting red carded or Smalling scoring an own goal and I suspect both situations might well have happened even if United hadnβt announced Ole.
Personally I think it was a bit previous but itβs done now and the time to judge Ole is next season after heβs been able to put his mark on the team after the Summer transfer market.
Put the above post up on the PL thread earlier probably more relevant to this thread.

3rd April 2019 at 9:14 pm #36794Lol, it was Goldstein Mak last night on the SportsBar, tALKSPORT getting his Boxers in a twist.
He sure likes to dish it out on a Monday in how ridiculously lucky Liverpool are, so I’m actually Karma glad for him π π
