However, Morata and Hazards movement in that game tore United a new one despite the 1-0 score-must have watched a different game then 442 mate, cos that was a dull game too!
999-Herrera is not a starter anyway these days,so his absence makes no difference. Both teams are playing rubbish football these days, fearing a boring 0-0 but hoping to see a goal or 2.

23rd February 2018 at 1:20 pm #16364Mav, Herrera has previously been United’s go to man marker but I’m sure United have others capable of doing that job.
But you’re right mate neither club is in great form so we shouldn’t expect a feast of football although there’s been a couple of positive signs from Chelsea over the last few games which hopefully can be taken forward to this game. I’m hoping for a front three of Hazard, Morata and Willian.
Like you I expect a tight game but a goal or two will do for me providing it’s past De Gea but he’s such a brilliant Keeper that won’t be easy.

23rd February 2018 at 1:44 pm #16368Conte on Mourinho “In the past, we both said things. For me, it’s OK, I’m not interested to speak about this topic.” When asked if he will shake hands with Mourinho, Conte says: “I’m not interested in this.”
“It’s not clear if Conte meant he’s not interested in shaking hands with Mourinho or he’s just not interested in speaking more about him.”
The above is from the Conte Press Conference today imo far too much has been said by both parties and each of them should have been big enough and sensible enough not to get involved as they have in all this.
They are never going to like each other but both Mangers should be big enough to shake hands at the beginning and end of the game.
I will be disappointed in Conte if he doesn’t offer his hand to Mourinho.
But it’s about the teams and not the Manager’s despite Sky’s best efforts to build it up as a confrontation between Mourinho and Conte.

23rd February 2018 at 2:10 pm #16373AnonymousMaverick… Yes it was a dull game, Simply because of the shocking wastefulness of Chelsea that day. It should have been another five goals to CFC. Herrera wasn’t near hazard all game and was booked while having a howler, so not sure why CFC fans are happy about his absence.
I’ll be gutted if we turn up at old Trafford and allow United possession and fail to be progressive up the pitch. CFC are capable of going and playing their own attacking game but we’ve seen nothing of that side in the entire season to date. Counter football against United given their form is the wrong approach.
999… I’d be leaving Giroud out of this one entirely. 2 goals no assists against united in 11 games during his Gooner career. His lack of speed and movement will play into the hands of smelling or jones or both who are both more mobile than our target man who looks like he’s got led weights attached to his ankles. Morata and his movement is needed with Hazard behind.
I’d be ditching Pedro to the reserve teams. Been shocking for us this season and offers nothing and often vanishes in most matches. Willian has only just come back into form after a disappointing season and even then, he’s been more miss than hit.
Fully expect a dire game when this is a massive, massive opportunity to secure a top four slot by putting pressure on Spurs and Liverpool. We are in desperate need for three points this weekend.

23rd February 2018 at 2:42 pm #16377AnonymousMaverick… At the time I said that was the worst united performance I’ve ever seen at the bridge. It was like watching Sunday league tbh. The only thing worse than United’s performance was Morata who should have had four goals on the day except he found his clown boots instead of goal. It was like watching the very worst of Fernando Torres in Blue again. Anyhow, dont want to upset you too much. Queue a shit game and us grousing on Monday. Enjoy the weekend.

23rd February 2018 at 3:38 pm #16379999 – I see what you’re saying about both managers should have been big enough to move on and shake hands, but IMO Mourinho is a different animal. He questioned conte’s integrity by implying he was involved with match fixing. Jose should have apologised for that, instead he was happy to use it as point scoring. I wouldn’t blame Conte if he lamps Jose when they meet on the touchline, and it would be fully deserved.

23rd February 2018 at 5:05 pm #16387442-Not upsetting me at all mate, the title is gone already,so why worry. It sounds as if you got the 4-0 drubbing in mind, not the 1-0 defeat?! Because United were bad that day,but not that bad and Chelsea were not great either, probably because United were very defensive!

23rd February 2018 at 5:21 pm #16389To their credit the two manager has stuck to their pre match conference and tried to diffuse the tension. personally i would like to remember this fixture for the footballing side, and not the managerial confrontations.

24th February 2018 at 11:52 am #16453I’m not sure how Betting companies can offer anything extra that some trivial market on a bust up between the two sets of Managers. And how does this impact at all any form of commerce surrounding Sky, albeit to capture interest levels?
I watched the Snooker Grand Prix last night, and it’s pumped up more than ever of Betting companies which obviously ploughs money into the sport, but all on the basis of entertainment and the sport being delivered by an array of good quality Snooker players.
This all should be led by the football doing the talking and anything else should be at best a periphery.
