Adlab, I can’t work out why the Haaland fee is being reported at Β£51mil. It was about the same again in agents fees. When people talk about the Pogba fee, that’s including the agents fee so I don’t understand why it’s any different. I can understand why City don’t want to report the higher fee but I don’t get why the media are sticking with the reporting of the Β£51mil fee.

15th June 2022 at 6:05 pm #196657Ed. Because I think the FEE is Β£51m but that of course EXCLUDES extras. Who knows what those parasite agents take. Totally immoral imo.
But that is the market place._____________________________

15th June 2022 at 6:10 pm #196659Well his Dad hot around Β£30mil!
No I get that is the fee but whenever anyone talks about the fee Pogba cost us from Juventus, that agents fee is included in the quoted fee.
Here, Juventus themselves say the fee for Pogba without agents fees was 72mil EUR. Yet he’s always on the lists of most expensive players in the league. That would only be possible if they count the agents fee. Just wondering why they don’t do it with Haaland
“This results in a profit of β¬95m, of which β¬27m will be paid to Mino Raiola and his company. Taking fees into account, our net profit on Pogba comes at β¬72m.”

15th June 2022 at 6:19 pm #196660The best I can gauge from a sensible source is that agents fees etc were about Β£42m. Utterly ridiculous imo,but again that is the market. Of course these costs as always will be amortised over the period of the contract…5years I think.
Still a nonsense sum. It is immoral imo. So much for doing nothing. Dim view from me._____________________________

15th June 2022 at 6:30 pm #196662I just think (on England), there needs to be a serious rethink on the implementation of these tournaments. I’m never taking to this Quatar World Cup. It really is the pits playing to their hemisphere but in our Winter.
Those key matches leading up to the world cup will no doubt interrupt the Premier League. I now more and more see it as ‘something in the way’ even though I have regard for the International Team. I was into the tournament last year and we nearly won it.
The players just don’t seem motivated of late and no appetite. The style of football is boring to watch and the build up to a game is excessive and overhyped.
Get rid of meaningless friendlies and just schedule in one block where a run of successive games can be played.

15th June 2022 at 6:56 pm #196663Nil, there are only 2 more games for England between now and the start of the World Cup Finals and these games were all grouped together 4 games in total 2 v Hungary and 1 each v Germany and Italy.

15th June 2022 at 7:42 pm #196664Adlab, you’re wasting your breath mate on those teams.
I don’t get all engaged with these teams/leagues for this reason. I must admit, I was taken to Real Madrid; they were first class in the way they treated us after we lost the contest, but Barca, PSG etc, not worth it anymore.

15th June 2022 at 9:10 pm #196666Full hats out to the supporters and Molineux who really made an effort to get a vibe going last night. I didn’t see this filtering though to the players unfortunately however.
No spirit and quite simply no passion.
Fans, commit themselves season in season out and in nature some of them will sign off for the summer and turn their attention towards something else.
There are some feeling withdrawal symptoms and maybe this Nations League wasn’t needed.

16th June 2022 at 8:30 pm #196672Not completely digested this yet, but interesting analysis of expenditure comparisons of City & Liverpool after Simon Jordan highlighted the difference in net spend. He replies to Swiss ramble in this thread:
Recently on Talk Sport Simon Jordan @Sjopinion10 claimed, βKloppβs net spend is Β£28m-a-year, Pepβs is Β£100m-a-year.β This thread will look at #LFC and #MCFC accounts to see whether this statement is correct β and whether we should assess their expenditure in a different way.

17th June 2022 at 9:54 am #196675What a silly period of time it is. We should now be speaking about the world cup and what games to watch and look forward to. Who’s bright idea was it?!

17th June 2022 at 11:59 am #196676Getting 42.5m is very good deal for us for mane. Good deal for munich aswell even though he only has one year left. Good player turned into an absolute beast of a player under Klopp. He has plenty of years left in him. Brilliant signing and the very best of luck in his new venture.

17th June 2022 at 2:57 pm #196680I can see Β£40m to Β£45m for Jesus, so far Β£10m for the Irish keeper and perhaps Β£70m for either Bernado or Sterling. Possibly Zinchenco too.
