Thanks for your kind words Adlab the 8 weeks of almost complete inactivity because of my problems has made getting back on my feet a problem but there are signs of me getting stronger now and some progress been a tough time though.
Agree with your post about England what the players earn has nothing to do with it they are not machines and the body can only take so much.

5th June 2022 at 7:36 pm #196533I believe you are right Mikus, there is something missing or what I call the modern era of “Look at ME”
Nike..it is not about blaming the players so much as the cultural shift, it is generated by the various forms of media who hype everything so they can chop it down. Players need to start ignoring the headlines, less talk and get on with the job. I read the other day that TV companies now want more access to trying grounds to record the…..why not ask them to play!!!!!
I hope Clubs and Managers will kick them out but if money is involved again…who knows? There is a cultural difference in working in the UK and Europe at many levels, football, as Mikus pointed out, is one. We believe we have some divine right to be the best, those days of good honest football are long gone and will never return. I feel sorry for to days fans not to have witnessed it. It was a different experience. However, we are where we are and have to get on with it.

5th June 2022 at 7:52 pm #196534Sorry…Apple type again
“TV companies want more access to TRAINING grounds”
Nine, pleased you are fighting through your difficulties, you will get through it cannot be easy for you
Nine, with respect..the point I am making is they are trained athletes rather than footballers, they have wonderful facilities to help them keep fit, medical back up to prepare them for 90 or 180 minutes a week and get well rewarded at the same time. The biggest thing they will miss is family time. I do believe though that because of potential injuries, more games/competitions bigger squads will be needed. I am just wondering if the new subs rule of 5players mean all can be used or any 3 from 5??

5th June 2022 at 8:43 pm #196535Brian, I agree with your point. Effectively I can see new heights with the facet becoming too intrusive.
On one hand, I do like the ‘Inside Anfield’ accessible on You Tube post match.
On the other hand, I don’t believe for one second there’s not a day goes on in the training camp and match day etc where there’s tension between the players and the manager’s shouting the odds. The game wouldn’t be human haha. I think that’s all that’s left (I say in jest) cameras installed in the dressing room.
It’s no wonder one can feel the footage is slightly contrived. Whilst it’s insightful, you can’t help but feel at the back of your mind a feeling of intrusion to privacy.
Social Media Platforms are effectively instantaneous. All is captured-uploaded and voom! There’s far too much of it. The week-by-week interviews are played out the same, because the players will be reserved and cautious in what they say, quite simply because something that’s misinterpreted in sentiment can be taken out of context and put out the wrong way.
I wonder though why this league in particular is targeted the most. What would be if players were taken home less than 5000 a week and there was no commercial add-ons etc.
I don’t see proper Journalists anymore. What I do see is that particular part of the industry saturated with far too many individuals. We don’t need x amount of pundits and a studio filled with lots of pundits.
As rightly expressed on here so far as far as England is concerned against our Top Flight League, there is a clash. Attitudes seemingly have changed. I still feel there needs to be a balance accommodating all these matches against rest and recuperation.

5th June 2022 at 9:15 pm #196537Social media has exacerbated things, particularly tribal hatred creating an ugly pantomime environment. The booing of Harry Maguire by some England fans is a prime example. I just could never see other national teams fans doing that to one of their players – particularly when they were struggling for form anyway.

5th June 2022 at 9:19 pm #196538Brian, thanks for the kind words.
On the second point we are pushing players too far 60 plus games a season without internationals is the norm now at the top Clubs which results in 3 games per week “a fit race horse needs two to four weeks off to recover between races. If the racehorse is considered a top-class horse, he will likely be given a month between races to recover and get into peak condition after a race.”
5 substitutes instead of 3 will help but we won’t get top performances from players if we continue to ask so much of them. Cheers 9’s

5th June 2022 at 9:30 pm #196540Brian, just wondered are you using an Ipad? You mentioned Apple.
Can be a bit tricky with touch screens and predictive texts etc, but I’m led to believe if you buy a separate wireless keyboard and mouse, that should allow you to connect onto the device as long as there is a USB socket. I know from personal experience, this is a lot easier for me and user friendly.

6th June 2022 at 10:05 am #196543Nike….Yes I use iPad but rarely get it wrong on that. My problem is with iMac, which I have two and same on both. I should really ask Apple how to stop this auto correct into something not applicable. I have been with Apple for approx 27 years and would not like to go back to Windows but I can still get if needed on Apple The two iMacs I have is, one is 12 years old, still performing but slower and have just bought a new one which is fast. The difference is startling..love it

10th June 2022 at 1:51 pm #196547All currently just rumours 2 of many currently surrounding Chelsea but would Pep want to potentially help strengthen Chelsea by selling them Jesus and or Sterling?
Somehow I doubt it.

10th June 2022 at 3:56 pm #196550Stranger things have happened Nine. There was also a silly rumour we were interested in Mount, so P/e was muted. We do not need Mount and I doubt if Mount would want City but has the Forum title says. “Silly season. I still cannot understand the pursuit of Phillips either, why would he want to understudy Rodri?? We are, apparently going to sign a midfielder and a full back, no idea who but do not want to loose Zinchenko or Ake

10th June 2022 at 5:04 pm #196551Brian, Mount has been at Chelsea since the age of 7 is Chelsea through and through and very happy at the Club, he’s got 2 more years on his contract and Chelsea are about to offer him a much improved contract. Chelsea would never sell him the same goes for Reece James who still has 3 years on his contract.

10th June 2022 at 8:06 pm #196552Nine….I am never so optimistic on football players movements any more. Reece James more suited to Rugby league in my opinion!!!!!!! I suppose it is about how much Tuchell can bend your new orders ear, Chelsea will sign a few….which ones???

10th June 2022 at 8:58 pm #196553Brian, seemingly according to reports Tuchel has been given control of transfers and has a sizeable budget and with a few departures already I’m expecting a few signings.
Haaland will be an excellent signing for City imo and I’m expecting Pep to sign one or two more. A replacement for Fernandinho maybe?

11th June 2022 at 3:38 pm #196554I think Tuchell will improve the team next season, he knows what he has to do now in the EPL. If the backing is there and he is given the choices of players he will be looking at trophy’s next season
I think Haaland may well take time to settle, to be honest I am more excited about the other one Alvarez, I know he has no experience of European football but that maybe his good fortune at his age, similar to when we brought in Jesus who I still want to stay because he is a 100% “tryer” and City fans do like “tryers”. I hope you are improving , day on day now, maybe a few off days but the trend is upwards!!_____________________________

11th June 2022 at 3:47 pm #196555Although I watched most of the match against Germany and noted a much better attitude and performance. I did think they were lacking in focus, if you noticed the German play there was a pattern and structure, we appeared to be constantly trying to find some way getting into the game. I did not rate Sterling or Saka, who I thought should have done more damage down the wings. Pity about Phillips. Lets see what happens from now, anybody that does not feel fit or mentally strong should not start the game…it is a game to be won

11th June 2022 at 5:00 pm #196556It seems according to the press Chelsea have already signed Jesus rather than Arsenal. Sterling is going to at least three clubs and Bernardo to Barcelona. We are apparently going to say “off you go” and never mind the fees. Oh and Zinchenko is off to Arsenal or was it Spurs?

11th June 2022 at 9:21 pm #196558Persic not a bad signing for spurs on a free. Perfect fir left wing back. Think conte will bring spurs to another level next season with a few signings. Could see in patches his beliefs getting through. Players Andy throwing themselves at balls. Ben Davies huge improvement under conte.
