Areta should be under severe pressure this season.they need to get top 4 with the amount of time and money he has spent there. Some fanatic young players aswell

25th July 2022 at 7:27 am #197088Ye Ed, Whatโs going on at Barca is absolute maddness mate. Are they just buying players for the sake of it? Be very interesting to see their team. Iโve no doubt bobby lew can do a great job but 4 year contract at 34 and 50m euro? Maddness
Also looks like they have hijacked kounde yet they canโt pay de Jong what they owe him? Itโs just crazy and makes no sense

26th July 2022 at 8:31 am #197091Just crazy at Barca Sean.
Just seen Everton are willing to listen to offers for Delle Alli 6 months after signing him for a fee which could rise to ยฃ40mil. What a fall from grace for Alli. He had the world at his feet a few years back. Was so dangerous in and around the box. He’s only just turned 26 as well. No idea where he goes from here.

27th July 2022 at 8:36 am #197095The question is why?
Believed his own publicity?
Built up by the London media beyond his ability?
Who knows. What is undisputed is the ability is there but it is not harnessed._____________________________

27th July 2022 at 9:30 am #197096That’s the question Adlab. The worrying thing is that he has had some of the most successful managers in the game managing him so if they can’t get a tune out of him, it’s hard to see who can. At least with the likes of Wilshere, injuries could be blamed. Alli, as far as I know, has not had any recurring problems on the injury front. I think he’ll be fortunate if another PL club takes a punt on him. Otherwise, he may have to look at the Championship. Unthinkable a few years ago.
Here’s a scenario, though. Lampard gets sacked this season and Poch turns up at Everton. Not beyond the realms of possibility considering Everton’s performances under Lampard last season and in pre-season as well as the lack of top jobs available for Poch. That could potentially get him going again.

27th July 2022 at 11:13 am #197097To be fair to Lampard though Ed he inherited a poor squad and it still is a poor squad higher up the food chain is where the majority of Everton’s problems eminate from.

27th July 2022 at 12:31 pm #197099He’s far from the only problem at Everton Nine but I just don’t think he’s good enough to be a manager in the PL. I’ve yet to see anything in his management career to suggest otherwise. Like Ole (at Utd), he was always going to have an extended honeymoon period at Chelsea because of his time there as a player. Just like Dalglish at Liverpool, Big Dunc at Everton, Pirlo at Juventus etc. I honestly think if he hadn’t had the playing career he had that he would be without a job or in the lower leagues by now.
He’s the favourite to be the first manager sacked and I would be very surprised if he’s still there come the end of the season. Stranger things have happened though!

27th July 2022 at 1:24 pm #197101I think Chelsea came to early for Frank he should have continued in the Championship.
Everton are in a mess as a Club and that’s entirely down to Moshiri.
I’m not surprised in Frank being favourite for the first Manager to be sacked this season Everton very narrowly survived relegation last season they have subsequently sold one of their best players and bought no one.

27th July 2022 at 6:59 pm #197105Martinez signs for Utd for 57m. Have to admit he’s shorter than I thought.

27th July 2022 at 9:36 pm #197111Wow that is short Threeps ๐. Yeah I’m reading ยฃ47mil, potentially rising to ยฃ55mil. Hope he’s worth it at that price. Can’t say I’d have priotised a CB considering our problems in midfield and attack but we have to hope ten Hag knows what he’s doing.

28th July 2022 at 7:25 am #197112I think spurs have done great business. Bisoumma is a snip. They have filled the two wing back positions. I donโt get the Richardlson signing. Does he play with son behind Kane?
Building a good squad with an excellent manager
Think city have had a very good window aswell. Great
business for both Chelsea and city with the sterling deal.Chelsea need another centre half. They have about 8 players who can play behind the front man. They need to sell sone players. It be probs mount and sterling behind havertz.
Arsenal have fully supported Areteta . Heโs been given time and money and has to deliver now
Utd need two midfielders and depending on what happens with ronaldo, need a forward. Martial looks like he be given another chance. Interesting to see weโre Martinez play. Will it be holding midfield or left sided centre back? Maguire Iโd captain so it be varane who probs drop out
Everton are in serous trouble. I think forest will stay up because of their manager
Leeds, Brentford, Fulham, Bournemouth be fighting to stay up aswell

28th July 2022 at 9:18 am #197113Yeah agree about Forest Sean. Lingard will do well for them I think. Leeds are a difficult one to predict. I can’t work them out under Marsch. They looked good at times when he came in but they’ve obviously lost their 2 best players.

28th July 2022 at 11:10 am #197114I don’t think Martinez height is a problem depending on the formation, quite a few successful centre backs have been on the short side in all the top leagues, problem with United, Chelsea and Newcastle and also Everton they need players and there’s nobody available. Chelsea can’t even get rid of their many unwanted players while Ronaldo wants to leave United but nobody wants him.

28th July 2022 at 9:21 pm #197118Rover..think I would agree with that, height not a big factor if his skills and reading of game is good. I remember City having a few good small CBs in my time of watching them, all of them good players and Internationals.
