Adlab, to be fair any Club that spends a lot of money gets a reaction from the press Chelsea have had it for years it’s certainly not special to City.
Ironically Chelsea have yet to announce a signing although Sterling looks done and I think he will be a good signing others to follow I hope certainly in defence.
Yes I’m over Covid thanks and looking to get stronger now and add to my mobility and hopefully get home soon.Cheers 9’s

14th July 2022 at 8:09 am #196965Good to hear you are doing ok nine mate.
Two excellent signings for Chelsea and koulibily is one of the top 5 cbs in the world. Very similar to rudiger. Really top class player. Chelsea should be challenging this year for the league

14th July 2022 at 8:05 pm #196966Cheers Sean.
I think how Chelsea do this season will depend on how we finally do in this transfer window I think the bookies have got it about right with their PL odds and personally I think a CL place given all the circumstances is Chelsea’s best option this season and that won’t be easy.
I can only see the PL title race being a two horse race again. Cheers 9’s

15th July 2022 at 7:14 am #196967Ah nine Chelsea have a great squad. They played Liverpool 4 times and didnβt lose of them. They are not that far behind. They should be challenging at this stage.
If they get a few more in, they will have spent big money and I think most be expecting a challenge
Iβve no doubt city will run away with it though mate

15th July 2022 at 8:55 am #196969With their signings and a decent manager I think Chelsea will be very close to Liverpool and City.
Too close to call. We need to strengthen our defence with a left back and possibly another CB if Ake goes. The last few seasons have shown that the quality of the bench is what makes the difference. Most have a good first eleven but you get injuries, suspension and loss of form.
A good example is Maguire. Real loss of form and limited replacement._____________________________

15th July 2022 at 9:23 am #196970Yeah the title odds look pretty spot on to what I would predict. City to win it, Liverpool pushing them all the way. A long way after them two, Chelsea and Spurs to battle for 3rd with any of Arsenal, Utd getting 5th with a chance of someone like Leicester, Newcastle or West Ham pushing them for that 5th spot.
Koulibaly and Ake are good CBs but I’m not sure they strengthen Chelsea, rather they ensure they’re not weaker defensively than last season. Koulibaly has always intrigued me. He’s been highly rated for the last 5 or so years but why has it taken until now for someone to take a punt on him? So many sides been looking for top CBs in recent years but nobody has gone for him. That’s a long time to be at a side like Napoli. Seen him have a couple if shockers in the CL but he looks generally pretty solid.
Sterling on the other hand I think really strengthens Chelsea. Much better than Ziyech, Pulisic Hudson-Odoi. Can be a bit wasteful with his finishing but Chelsea create a lot of chances so I think he’ll do well in a fluid front three.

15th July 2022 at 10:37 am #196971Ed, as Tuchel has said Chelsea are rebuilding rather than strengthening.
On Koulibaly I think you’re wrong there’s been a lot of interest in Koulibaly over the years Chelsea themselves have made several attempts to sign him but De Laurentius has always been a very difficult man to deal with but this time round although De Laurentius still didn’t want to lose him Koulibaly was in the last year of his contract and refused to renew it which left Napoli having to sell him or risk losing him on a free.
Personally I think Koulibaly is potentially the perfect replacement for Rudiger but time will tell.

15th July 2022 at 10:45 am #196972“Ake has been linked with a move back to Stamford Bridge for several weeks. It had been claimed personal terms were agreed for him to join Thomas Tuchel’s side.
However, Chelsea will now have to look elsewhere. The Athletic claims City were not keen on selling Ake in this window, seeing his versatility as a crucial part of Pep Guardiola’s side.
Chelsea were also not able to meet the Premier League champions’ valuation of the player. A mutual decision has therefore been reached between City and Ake for him to stay at the club, which he is claimed to be happy with.” Express

15th July 2022 at 10:49 am #196973Maybe that’s it Nine. As you say, there’s been no shortage of interest in him through the years. I don’t think there’s a top club who hasn’t been linked with him at some point. My point is that teams like Napoli tend not to get their way in keeping players when bigger teams come calling and it surprises me that it’s taken until he’s 31 to get that move considering all the interest. There must have been some niggling doubt in previous years. I’m sure he’ll be a great replacement for Rudiger regardless. Can’t go wrong at that fee anyway.

15th July 2022 at 11:04 am #196974“The BBC has been forced to apologise after wrongly showing a photo of Raheem Sterling during a report on a Premier League footballer arrested on suspicion of rape.
Sterling was announced as Chelsea’s latest signing, and the image of him in his new kit accidentally appeared in the background. The player accused has not been named.
“A Premier League player arrested on suspicion of rape has not been suspended and can fulfil his professional⦔ the host said, before suddenly stopping. “Weβll have more on that story a bit later on.”
As “xxxx ups” go they don’t come much more embarrassing than this.
As usual the internet is full of who the alleged player is.

15th July 2022 at 4:24 pm #196975Eriksen a good signing for United. Also pretty glad Ake is staying for the time being.
Also it looks like Zinchenko to Arsenal for Β£35m. A good deal considering we paid about Β£2m but we definitely need to replace._____________________________

15th July 2022 at 4:37 pm #196976Nine..the fact is it is the BBC says it all. I cringe every time I hear anything about this Corporation. I read they are sacking 70 Presenters, presumably to give the higher paid another rise

15th July 2022 at 4:45 pm #196977Brian. You should also look at who some current presenters are being replaced with and you can draw your own conclusions. Classic current regime BBC.

15th July 2022 at 6:58 pm #196978Adlab…as soon as I find a way to replace the BBC I will do so, not even the “NEWS” which I always looked forward to have now switched to ITV and Newsnight…well I no longer wish to listen to or watch political bias They are supposed to be partial but are anything but.
