“According to multiple reports in Italy, Romelu Lukaku will complete his return to Inter today as the Nerazzurri and Chelsea will hold a new, decisive meeting.
The Belgian striker pushed to return to Inter after a disappointing spell at Stamford Bridge under Thomas Tuchel. According to the primary Italian media, there’s no doubt he’ll wear the Nerazzurri shirt again in 2022-23.
Il Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport claim that the striker’s return to Inter is virtually a done deal but add that the two clubs will reach a final agreement today.
According to Gazzetta, Inter President Steven Zhang will try to lower Chelsea’s request, but the Serie A giants are expected to welcome the striker back on a €10m loan plus €2m add-ons.
Lukaku scored 64 goals in 95 appearances during his two-year spell with the Nerazzurri between 2019 and 2021. He returned to Chelsea in a €113m deal a year ago but only managed 15 goals in 44 appearances under Tuchel.”
Dreadful business but Chelsea have to take it on the chin and move him out whatever the loss.

20th June 2022 at 11:53 am #196708Nine, I think he would be a steal mate in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. He’s only 27, so you would get playing years out of him.

20th June 2022 at 3:35 pm #196710Sterling…agree with most. young enough and still has miles on clock. but Pep has always stated he does not want a player who does not want to stay and fight for his place. maybe Chelsea/Arsenal will give him more games but would be surprised if they guarantee them. My feeling is he wants a change and the competition is getting tougher. Good luck to him, great work ethic

20th June 2022 at 4:30 pm #196713Had no idea Sterling was only 27. Would be amazed if City let him join a rival.

20th June 2022 at 4:33 pm #196715You know your club and manager are set up right when you don’t need to worry too much about players leaving. I think there were reports last summer that Sterling was unhappy at his playing time and also last summer Bernado I think was reported to be looking for a change. But both stayed and still had good seasons because of the manager. See also Fergie at Utd. A club should use players, not the other way around.

20th June 2022 at 6:44 pm #196716That is the only way to look at it Mikus, just like Mane with you, I suspect Klopp said to him….I want you to stay, we have a good club, good squad and facilities, can you better that??? mane thinks so, therefore Klopp wishes him well and gets on with his job of thinking of Liverpools next move

20th June 2022 at 6:49 pm #196718It’s a joke Adlab but I can’t say I’m too surprised. I’ve said it before but this De Jong chase feels all too similar to the Cesc saga in Moyes’ (and Woodward’s) first summer window. We need about 10 players considering all the exits but I’m not sure we’ll even manage 3 at this rate. I’m cautiously optimistic about ten Hag but he’s desperately in need of support from within the club as well as patience from the fans.

22nd June 2022 at 7:10 am #196728Mane and minamino gone so that’s more then half of Nunez money recuperated.
I expect to see neco Williams out next. Anything over 10m for him is excellent business. He’s not pl standard from what I’ve seen of him.
Pope to Newcastle is a very good signing.
Borja looks a very good player. Raw but clearly talented. 30m fantastic deal for Chelsea if happens.
Interesting to see who Chelsea sign as TT made two signings last season and both were major disappointments. Rudiger and christianson need to be replaced. Rudiger was excellent last season. Thought Chelsea were a bit unlucky last season. Lot going on at the club and unlucky in sone of the big games. I think they will be up there again this season
I think Chelsea will get kounde.

22nd June 2022 at 9:26 am #196729Sean, Tuchel has only purchased one player in Lukaku and he was second choice after chasing and being unable to capture Haaland unfortunately Lukaku didn’t work out but 64 goals in 2 seasons suggested it might. Glad to see the back of Lukaku tbh terrible attitude.
Saul was a one year loan signing bought in as a squad player and never looked like the player I previously watched at Atletico.
Personally I would like to see Broja in the Chelsea squad as a plan b this season but we’ll see.
Hopefully a more successful transfer market for Chelsea this Summer once we finally get started.😊 Cheers 9’s

22nd June 2022 at 3:41 pm #196733Now this really is silly. Arsenal reported to be offering £264,000 a week to Jesus. That’s about 3 times his current salary.
Is he worth that ? Good player and good team man but not a prolific goal scorer.
The game is going mad. Also Coty asking for a fee of £50m!!!!_____________________________

22nd June 2022 at 6:14 pm #196735Its crazy when you look at a list of the most expensive transfers of recent times.
Mbappe
Neymar
Coutinho
Felix
Griezmann
Grealish
Lukaku
Dembele
Pogba
HazardAside from the top 2, what a massive waste of money they have all been. Not one would command anything like their biggest fee again. Surely, a warning to anyone that even the big expensive stars are far from guaranteed to be a success.

22nd June 2022 at 6:55 pm #196736I think many of those signings could be categorised as “statement” signings as opposed to signings bought with much thought into how they would fit in to the team. But I do think some of the fans are part of this as they constantly call for big signings. Then they turn on the owners when they fail. Those who try to lead mobs end up being chased by them.

22nd June 2022 at 8:38 pm #196737It is all simple to me summed up with the word Greed.
Option 1.. Club A has a top player A+, the club want to sell him to raise money for whatever. THEY set the price not the buyer
Option 2. Club B want to buy one of Club A players and go through various hoops to get him, however, it is usually at the price set by Club B and an inflated salary for the player….and lets not forget the Agent. The buying clubs are usually held the guilty partner in all this but I think there are two sides to every story and countless millions of opinions
The whole thing is crazy but I honestly do not know how it will get better. There are just too many non football interest now….TV, Gambling, commercial sponsorships and heading towards a Globe trotting game, the likes of local “derby’s” a thing of the past. It would not surprise me to see the next World Cup in Iceland or North Korea but more likely China. We can, for now, enjoy our EPL but the big disruption to the fixtures this season will have an effect on all clubs and players health. For once, I hope we are knocked out early so we can get all the players back and ready for the real game because this World Cup will not have any value since it is so tainted in corruption, Quatar will probably win it anyway

22nd June 2022 at 9:14 pm #196738Qatar are odds on favourites surely?
This will turn out to be a very strange season.
It could be there will be an ” odd” winner, as when Leicester won. The top team’s players will nearly all be involved and possible burn out or injury._____________________________
