Sean, Mane’s a Top Top Bloke and I fully Respect his decision to leave. He’ll always be well received. Good Luck to the guy and he will be hugely missed.

18th June 2022 at 8:13 am #196686If City really have an alleged retrospective problem with FFP what they may do now with player sales to help balance the books will only help them in the future not retrospectively.
Interestingly Todd Boehly commented a couple of days ago about UEFA’s FFP rules going forwards becoming more stringent.

18th June 2022 at 8:23 am #196687Be interesting to see how Liverpool cope with the loss of Mane he’s been consistently a star performer for them every season. Nunez is an interesting signing but quite a different one for Liverpool and it’s one in one out rather than an addition to the squad.

18th June 2022 at 9:12 am #196688“Financial Fair Play is starting to get some teeth and that will limit ability to acquire players at any price.
“UEFA takes it seriously and will continue to take it seriously. [More teeth] means financial penalties and disqualification from competitions.” Todd Boehly.

18th June 2022 at 10:45 am #196689All clubs must have been notified or reinforced one way or another what the expectations are re Financial Fair Play.
You need big squads to compete, but if there’s players there on a wage that need to be sold in order to be compliant with the rules, then If for instance Man City are one of the ones following suit, it shows nobody is treated any different.

18th June 2022 at 11:50 am #196690Ye nine, absolute beast of a player. Never injured. I wish him all the best mate.6 unbelievable years.
Be interesting to see if we play differently etc. we were not signing Nunez without big sales. Minamino and ox be next. Origi gone aswell
Our spending is done aswell. We need a midfielder but happy enough with our transfer. Just Nunez under big pressure and be Under intense scrutiny. Letβs see how he gets on.

19th June 2022 at 9:15 am #196691Mane was one of my favourite PL players Sean except when he was scoring against Chelsea etc. Be interesting to see how Liverpool adapt to his departure.

19th June 2022 at 10:46 am #196692Nine…well the new rules should be good news for City it will stop other clubs and agents ripping us off…..so it will be eventually where the player wants to go, like it or not as in USA,players become franchise objects. One thing for sure, we will not see top clubs owned by an Englishman or should I sat English person as the modern way of thinking.

19th June 2022 at 11:47 am #196693Mane was one of the most exciting players of the last few years. He may have said a few unfortunate things before his departure but he will be a Liverpool legend.
He will tear up the Bundesliga.

19th June 2022 at 2:43 pm #196694According to press and TV, Chelsea are about to sign Sterling. Β£60m minimum imo. Even though he has just one year left on his contract. Personally I hope we don’t sell him especially to an EPL rival.
Our attacking players currently are..Foden,Mahrez, Jesus, Sterling, Grealish, Haaland, Alvarez.
Midfield we have Palmer,KDB,Bernardo,Gundagon RodriWe could lose Sterling, Jesus and Bernardo. So we will still be looking for replacements.
We will try for a left back, a midfielder to replace Fernandinho and depending on sales another attacking midfielder. Of course easier said than done. I wouldn’t be over surprised if we swapped Bernardo for de Jong (and spoil it for the other team!).
Thoughts chaps?

19th June 2022 at 2:52 pm #196695Think City will sign a replacement for Fernandinho and a left back and then they will be good to go again.

19th June 2022 at 4:58 pm #196696Think you are right Nine. We shall loose good players sooner or later, so thinking ahead is always good no matter how we love our favourite players. If I think back over the years and think of particular player, then , in my mind I think , how can we ever be without this player. The world keeps revolving and have stopped getting too upset about loosing players like Silva, Kompany Augero and many others. I think our choice is DeJong, Phillips and Rice to take the Fernandinho role. Would save money and keep Zinchenko for LB…I know he is not great in that position but does a good job, he has no chance in midfield with current possibilities

19th June 2022 at 5:04 pm #196697Adlab…it will be his choice, if he thinks he cannot get enough games he needs to try somewhere else, I have no problem with that but we are re building again for the future and need more freshness and somebody that will fit City style.
We will loose Bernado, Jesus as well but think City knew this and are planning accordingly. We are also recovering some good money from other players, some Academy ones_____________________________

19th June 2022 at 5:48 pm #196698Sterling for me has a lot of miles on the clock. I think personally, he’d be a good fit for Arsenal because of their more attacking and fluid style of play. Not sure about Chelsea; quite intrigued to of Man City selling a player to a Rival that would strengthen in my view, greatly.

Not sure about Chelsea; ” Nil, despite Chelsea’s various problems last season they scored 15 more goals than Arsenal and completely dominated nearly every game so I’m not sure the above completely hangs together. All that aside I think Sterling will be looking to sign for a CL Club which Arsenal aren’t. Where Sterling finally ends up is impossible to guess I’m sure though City would prefer not to sell him to a PL rival. Time will tell only one year on his contract could be a deciding factor though.

20th June 2022 at 9:00 am #196704De Jong to City wouldn’t surprise me at all Adlab. As you say, City want Bernardo so it makes a lot of sense really. We’re not able to pay them what they want as it eats up too much of our budget. We look like ending up with 3rd, 4th choice targets this summer.
Sterling to Chelsea would be a great signing.
