Regret I cannot attend but will listen to match on radio. Next two games will be really tough but we have the squad to handle it. I feel more confident with the players now, the new signings have made a difference plus the bonus of not putting too much pressure on Augerro, KDB and Silva… all the time. In an ideal world I would like 3-0 win to take to Shaktar but this is a different game now and they have some good players. Clean sheet is a must and we must hit early again and no slow starts please

25th September 2017 at 7:57 pm #5542Sadly I can’t go either. Likewise I don’t have BT sport so I too will be listening to GMR. Jesus to start and a clean sheet will do for me.

26th September 2017 at 12:13 pm #5553Looks like Mendy will have a late fitness test for tonight’s game. Even if he doesn’t make it, this is still obviously really good news as he might make Chelsea and the initial reports were that he had ligament damage.

26th September 2017 at 1:37 pm #5556Comfortable win for City and whilst I wouldn’t wish injury on any player I’m hoping 6 or 7 of City’s very best pickup a niggle that keeps them out of Saturdays game.
It might be Chelsea’s best chance. ?

26th September 2017 at 2:50 pm #5561Mendy is fast very strong and delivers very good balls from out wide. Him and Walker have changed and added to our play massively so far this season.

26th September 2017 at 4:08 pm #5562I do not like the idea of “last minute” checks on Mendy. If he is not fit and there is a doubt why risk him? It could make matters worse. I am sure Pep and his team will not take riskd though

27th September 2017 at 5:43 am #5581Did not see the game as middle of the night out here but seems we never quite hit top form. Irrespective, 6 points from 6 is exactly where we wanted to be at this stage, decent result against Napoli next time out and we almost there with 3 still to go. Chickens not being counted, but getting the clicker ready…

27th September 2017 at 7:14 am #5582Feel for Mendy it sounds like a serious injury and that he will be out of action for a while can only wish him all the best for a speedy recovery.
Good win v Shaktar and City are progressing well in the CL they could go a long way in the competition this season.

27th September 2017 at 7:53 am #5583So the Spuds and MoneyCity both have 6 from 6, as Singing the Blues says, so close you can almost taste it! Don’t know about your mob, but we’ve got an easyish (cough) double header against some Spanish team coming up, Real something or other… so we should be assured our place in the next round…
The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if the special relationship might come into play here… one win each pretty much guarantees both us to go through…… 🙂
What’s this about a long-term for Mendy? Not seeing anything anywhere about. Shame for the lad, he looked like he had taken to the Prem like a duck to water when I’ve seen City play…

27th September 2017 at 9:59 am #5584As far as I can see, Mendy is off to see a specialist today. So in the next few days we will know more. Real shame as he has impressed so far. I have read that footballers are getting more knee ligament injuries these days due to the man made woven fibres in pitch turf. Therefore it is much less forgiving to studded boots. Ie no mud so cant slide, more grip therefore more stress on knee. ?? Such is life. Jim

27th September 2017 at 10:06 am #5585Yeah, shame for the lad.
Interesting thought about the pitches (but judging by the way the pitch was cutting up in the Spud game last night I would beg to differ… to a degree!). Remember reading somewhere the level of grip in the boots (more angles studs and things like that) aren’t also helping matters too. You could possibly also throw in an element of number of games too, bit of a turkeys voting for Christmas scenario…
