Not to rub salt in wounds, but remember Liverpool getting stick for not being able to beat Seville, including of course when we played them in the Europa League Final.
I’ve not treated them lightly, and I sure hope we don’t face them in the draw on Friday as we don’t have a good track record ourselves and that could be karma!

13th March 2018 at 10:00 pm #17982Probably the worst performance I have seen in a long long time by United. Just no passion, no energy and fight.
Players behind Lukaku the last 3 games, Sanchez Lingard against Palace, Mata, Sanchez, Rashford against Liverpool, Lingard, Sanchez, Rashford against Sevilla.
Is Jose known for this tinkering?
No wonder they looked lost if he cannot stick to the samw line up.

13th March 2018 at 10:02 pm #17983Differences were though Nil Liverpool were one nil and three nil up and lost the Europa Final 1-3 and drew the home game at Anfield 3-3.
Not taking anything away from Sevilla but United were beyond poor tonight. All the other 7 teams will be hoping to draw Sevilla.
Looks like the only PL match up can be City v Liverpool.

13th March 2018 at 10:05 pm #17984United have no one but themselves to blame for in this defeat. they wanted to win the game, anything other than that would be a disaster, and you play Felliani in that midfield. he should have replaced Lingard straight at halftime, two he should have moved Sanchez over to the wing. because that is where he is more effective, and moved Rashford as a second cf in 4-4-2 formation. Motntella’s subs has has a am impact, and Mourinho’s subs didn’t have any impact on the game.

13th March 2018 at 10:11 pm #17987Anonymous9’s/ Solhaswonit…. Could Jose be trying to work out his best combination? Sanchez is a class act and joined mid season. Goes to show how tricky it is to pull off deals and get the best out of players in Jan. Fully expect them to tear up pitches next season.

He has been here at United long enough to know his best 11 or best attacking combination. At Chelsea he always stuck with Hazard, Willian, Oscar and Costa. At Madrid he always stuck with Di Maria, Ozil, Ronaldo and Benzema.
At United, one week he is playing Lingard, next Mata, next Rashford, then back to Lingard.

13th March 2018 at 10:44 pm #17993City would have beaten United and other PL teams in the CL. let us see how they are rated against the continent’s best teams, Barcelona, Bayern , Juventus and Real Madrid.

13th March 2018 at 11:17 pm #17998That is classic Mourinho trying to deflect the attention from the poor performance. nothing more than that. and if you look at the truth, what he is trying to say is true. this is not the first time United had been knocked by a team lesser, Porto did and Sevilla did. what is the difference? in both times the United had been knocked out. and he is right.

It is typical Jose, but should he be using examples of 2 teams he managed and knocked United out.
This is all down to his team selection. He badly got it wrong, especially when he keeps on chopping and changing. Why drop the same players who did well against Liverpool in the first half. Why play Fellaini in centre midfield, when he is not a centre midfielder.

14th March 2018 at 8:11 am #18004AnonymousYou don’t mind losing if you think the team tried their best, but last night wasn’t acceptable in any way, shape or form.
No idea why he changed a winning team, especially to bring in players who are not as good as the ones they replaced, and then to swap Sanchez’s and Rashford’s positions to accomodate Lingard is crazy.
He needs to sit down with the board and explain how he sees us improving next year, what players he needs to do that etc.

14th March 2018 at 8:29 am #18005The main problem with Jose at United is cohesion. Look at the previous teams he has managed and he always had a settled 11, look at all the top teams across europe and they all have got a settled 11. Jose chops and changes the line up continuously. How many midfield partners has Matic had? What is United best 3 behind Lukaku.
When you ask City fans which line up they expect the following game, they would tell you instantly. Same with Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool, along with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus.
